It was clear that black and red patterns were faintly flowing beneath the robe of the future Buddha, giving off an extremely sinister feeling.

"Excellent! You have broken through the illusion of time and space set up by this Buddha. Young friend, you are indeed destined to be with the Buddha."

The future Buddha smiled as he held up a flower.

Images of my past and present lives flashed before my eyes.

Fortunately, he was careful, so when the illusion appeared, he was not completely drawn in.

Soon, he noticed the reflection in the Merit Pool—the future Buddha's face had three pairs of scarlet compound eyes!

Furthermore, the golden lotus in the Merit Pool withered instantly, turning into hideous bone spurs!

There was definitely a problem!

Seeing this scene, Xu Xinnian became even more certain of his guess.

Because everything went too smoothly!

The transmission of a true ancestor's legacy was so smooth that it was unbelievable.

Now, I carefully recall the first time I encountered Manjushri Bodhisattva.

He vaguely sensed that something was wrong, but he didn't think about it deeply at the time.

This feeling grew stronger as he went through the trials of the three great beings: Thousand-Armed Avalokiteshvara, Samantabhadra, and Ksitigarbha.

They were so kind and benevolent to me, not only testing me to a moderate degree of difficulty, but also actively bestowing upon me the power of inheritance to help me improve my strength.

Especially the final future Buddha.

They showed extraordinary enthusiasm and friendliness, as if they were his descendants.

Just because of a few words exchanged.

Without hesitation, he concluded that he had successfully passed the test.

He then lightly raised his palm, effortlessly boosting his cultivation level and generously bestowing upon his inheritance.

Who is the Future Buddha?

One of the three great ancient Buddhas of Zen Buddhism, and the future Buddha who will control Zen Buddhism.

His cultivation had even reached the realm of the True Ancestor of Origin. He was a supreme being standing in the Xuanhuang Universe!

How could someone so easily obtain the legacy of a true ancestor?

Isn't this utter nonsense?!

I am not the illegitimate child of the future Buddha.

However, in stark contrast...

Manjushri Bodhisattva was fierce and menacing towards him from beginning to end, as if he wanted to put him to death.

It seems that he is extremely unwilling to pass the test.

But now, it seems that Manjushri Bodhisattva's seemingly heartless actions concealed a deep sense of kindness.

His strictness was not out of a deliberate attempt to make things difficult.

Instead, I genuinely hope that I can back down from difficulties and no longer take risks.

As the saying goes, in this world, no one will harbor inexplicable hatred towards you, nor will there be any undeserved goodwill.

At this moment, Xu Xinnian finally understood the true meaning contained in those words.

The true motives of those who outwardly offer favors remain unknown.

Conversely, Manjushri Bodhisattva, who was always regarded as a vicious enemy, may in the end be a kind person who truly cared about his safety.

Thinking of this.

I have misunderstood Manjushri Bodhisattva.

If you think the other person is a staunch follower of the current Zen Buddhist master, Mahavairocana Buddha, then you believe that the other person is targeting you.

That wasn't the case.

Fortunately... it's not too late to realize this now, and there's still a chance to salvage the situation!

In order to see the future Buddha, what will happen next?

Xu Xinnian did not act rashly.

Because if one is not careful, one could fall into a place of no return.

So he suppressed his inner impulse and unease, deciding to remain calm and observe the situation before making a move.

At this moment, Xu Xinnian is in a dreamlike illusion.

Everything around me seemed so unreal.

Although he already knew in his heart that this was an illusion, he still chose to cooperate with this "performance" without showing any emotion.

For example, after going through countless hardships, they finally broke through the illusion and obtained the inheritance.

A hint of surprise flashed in the eyes of the Future Buddha, but he quickly regained his solemn appearance and said with a flick of his wrist, "The second inheritance is one of my celestial treasures, the Vajra Pestle, which is a primordial spiritual treasure!"

"If you want to gain his approval, you must endure 129,600 strikes from the vajra."

"Are you willing to accept?"

“Venerable Buddha, you are ready.”

Xu Xinnian nodded, revealing a resolute expression.

"very good."

The future Buddha smiled slightly.

The next second, he threw the vajra in his hand into the air.

In an instant.

Thousands of Vajra pestles appeared in the void, each pestle shadow wrapped with a red lotus of karmic fire!

Xu Xinnian neither dodged nor avoided the vajra, letting it pierce through his body.

When the last shadow of the pestle disappeared.

Chaotic runes suddenly lit up his acupoints—he had just refined the karmic fire of Buddhism into the true fire of the red lotus!

The future Buddha finally got up.

The Seven-Jeweled Tree in his palm radiated seven-colored light. "The final transmission is to receive the complete Buddha's power."

The immense Buddhist power poured in like a celestial river, but Xu Xinnian felt that a dark demonic seed had appeared in the puppet's dantian.

He pretended not to know.

He secretly activated the power of the Chaos Pearl to envelop it.

When the inheritance process reaches its most critical stage.

The entire Buddhist ruins suddenly trembled violently!
