I Can See the World's Attributes

The shadows of the old world, the tides of the new era. Light and darkness, chaos and dawn... arise alternately in a world of machinery and witchcraft!

But what does this have to do with me, ...

Chapter 124 Preparation (Part 2)

It was a rainy day and it felt like everyone on the street was in a hurry. It was already past noon when we returned to the headquarters of the Wings of the Sky.

Sean pulled Frelia into a room alone and told her what the Grand Duke had said, especially the stories about the witches being murdered...

"Do you think it's true?" Sean asked.

Looking at the other person's frowning expression, it seems as if he is always [thinking!].

"I haven't heard of this, so I'm not sure. But since it's the Grand Duke who told me this, it shouldn't be false... There are still many things in this world that we don't know about. Most people simply never get to go out and see them in their lifetime."

Sean rarely saw Frelia say these words, and it seemed that this story touched her.

108 people.

It just disappeared out of thin air, and there is no record of it in history books. What happened to those people who recorded it?

Speaking of the recorder Sean suddenly remembered that he had not looked for them in this city yet, and wondered if he could find out anything from those scholars.

"Sean," Frelia said suddenly.

"Hmm? Why…"

"Don't go this time. Just stay at headquarters. I'll have someone keep in touch and let you know if anything happens."

It was such a surprise that both of the people I met today told me not to go.

"So what are your plans?"

"Prince Philip asked Wizard Ash and I to lead the Black Feather Knights. Since it's raining, it would be inconvenient for too many people to travel, so we have to reduce the group to 3,000. I guess we'll have to move in batches along the way. If you're not used to that kind of environment, it's best not to go."

Frelia's words somewhat aroused Sean's self-esteem.

He was not one of those nobles who had never been caught in the rain. Even if he had to hike, Sean was confident that he would not be much worse than those wizards. But he really had no desire to go at the moment. Since they didn't want him to go, he decided not to go.

Sean didn't object...

This caused Frelia to actually feel [lost!].

…………………………

The Wings of the Covering Heaven set out the next morning, together with a group of people who came to greet them.

Sean was not there at the time. Even before leaving, Frelia came to his room door...but she didn't knock on the door, probably because she thought he was still asleep.

However, Sean had already taken his seat and was observing the entire map of Lietis. He could see Frelia leaving and the soldiers dispatched from the Prince's Palace. He estimated that some people were waiting outside the city. After all, if too many people walked through the city, the streets would be blocked.

And the news of the Grand Duke arrived soon after everyone set off...

Sean originally thought that the Grand Duke had sent someone to invite him over, but he didn't expect that he had sent someone to deliver a letter.

He also told himself in the letter that both Lietis and Sidea City would issue mercenary recruitment orders, allowing civilian forces to join in. In the letter, the Grand Duke also specifically mentioned that he hoped he could go to Sidea City to be in charge of mercenary affairs.

To the Grand Duke's city.

If you go in, you will be like a sheep walking into a tiger's mouth, and you will not be able to decide what to do then.

Because in Lietis's case, at least he had the Wings of the Covering Sky to protect him, and as he had thought before, Prince Philip did not show any obvious intention to compete with the Grand Duke for aristocratic resources.

Every time it seems that the Grand Duke is pushing from behind, while His Royal Highness the Prince is always in a passive state.

It's like I'm constantly boiling...

After all, the Grand Duke is so old, and he might die one day if he gets angry.

So Prince Philip does not seem to be in a hurry at all. As long as the Grand Duke falls, it will be difficult for his heir to establish prestige among the southern nobles in a short period of time. By then, many nobles will turn to the prince's side even for survival.

Factional struggles can be seen everywhere, so until now Sean has not noticed any rebellious moves by the prince. Instead, the open and covert struggles between the two have always been the focus of the nobles' attention.

I guess many nobles have the same idea as me and are all observing.

In the end, you will side with whoever wins. Being a fence-sitter may not sound good, but it can help you live longer!

Anyway, he was an insignificant figure in the fight between the two. Now they just thought that he might be the man who could command the Wings of Covering the Sky, but how could Frelia be such an easy person to approach!

So Sean didn't listen to anyone and didn't respond to the letter asking him to go to the city of Saidiya. Instead, he continued to do his own thing.

Practice magic every day, and then ask Karyana for magical knowledge.

During this period of time, Sean had been looking through the magic books left by Lucille, many of which contained spells...

There should be thousands of spells in this entire book.

I don't know how Lucille memorized it all. Sean hasn't been able to memorize it all yet, but he has figured out which type of magic is recorded and what the classification is. If he needs it, he can just open the magic book and use it.

The day after Frelia left, the heavy rain finally stopped.

The sun hasn't come out yet, it's just gloomy...

Taking advantage of the good weather, Sean once again came to the Scholar's Library, this time wanting to learn about the situation in the southeastern region.

To Sean's surprise, the Recorder's branch in Lietis was actually in the same building as the Scholar's Library!

This means that these archaeologists, historians, and cultural geographers are actually the same people...
