I Farm and Survive in the Apocalypse

Bi Qiao'an lay weakly in the ice and snow, watching the heavy snow bury her alive. Thinking back to her three years of solitary survival in the apocalypse, her consciousness gradually blurred. ...

Chapter 630 The Beginning of the New Year

Bi Qiaoan hugged the two babies for a moment, and then shyly began to breastfeed them.

To be honest, ever since Bi Qiaoan discovered that her two little ones had memories, she had been thinking about weaning them.

Firstly, I felt a little embarrassed, and secondly, I was afraid that my two little ones would feel awkward thinking about it when they grew up.

But as soon as she weaned her two babies, the two little devils started crying and wouldn't stop. They wouldn't even drink formula, and their little voices were almost hoarse from crying.

Bi Qiaoan felt sorry for them and had no choice but to give in. She tapped her two little darlings' noses and said, "You two will regret this later."

Shen Yanming found it amusing and hugged his wife, saying, "Even if they can remember things, it's only a limited amount. After a while, they'll forget most of it. Don't worry, really, the two little ones' behavior is driven by instinct."

Bi Qiaoan nodded: "Okay, then let's continue feeding them for a while longer. If they still need to drink milk after a year and a half, I'll wean them forcibly. You can't stop me then."

Shen Yanming smiled and stroked her long hair, but said nothing.

He was ecstatic, thinking that the later his wife weaned the baby, the better. Anyway, as long as he was shameless enough, he could always get a free meal or two. The feeling, hehe, just thinking about it made him yearn for it.

When Shen Yanming came out of the bathroom, he saw the two children, one on each side. He stood there for a long time, even having the urge to rush over and snatch them away.

Perhaps his gaze was too intense, making the two children feel threatened. They slapped their little hands against Bi Qiaoan, trying to block their father's view.

Seeing this, Bi Qiaoan wanted to move back a little. But she had been lazy and fed both of them directly, which restricted her movement, so she could only stay frozen like this.

Isn't this a case of reaping what you sow?

Shen Yanming took in all the little actions of the three of them and said with a smile, "Wife, shouldn't you make it up to me?"

Bi Qiaoan glared at him, wanting him to leave quickly.

But Shen Yanming kept spouting off, saying things like, "We're the three of us, father and sons, you can't treat us differently," and "We're husband and wife, who's with whom?"

They didn't let go until Bi Qiaoan, the person at the center of the incident, was blushing with embarrassment.

Then he instantly became serious and asked, "Honey, what do you want to eat for lunch?"

Bi Qiaoan was stunned for a moment, not quite reacting yet. Then she said, "You decide what to do, just make sure it's done well. It's the beginning of the new year, we need a good omen."

Shen Yanming nodded and left. He had no choice but to leave; he felt his nose was about to bleed.

He took a tissue and wiped himself hard twice before taking out fish, shrimp, beef, mutton, and a bunch of fruits and vegetables from his spatial storage.

Even though I know we definitely won't be able to finish it, we still need to ensure a variety of dishes.

Shen Yanming set aside enough for one plate of each dish, and then put the rest into the refrigerator.

Although they knew it was unlikely anyone would come to visit, they figured they should at least have something to show for themselves.

Most importantly, there has to be something in plain sight; you can't just take it from somewhere else later.

Shen Yanming smiled and shook his head, feeling that he was overthinking things, but he still did it anyway.

Then turn on the water heater and fill the sink with warm water. Rinse the vegetables and meat one by one, then put them in a basin to drain, and then cut them on the cutting board.

Before long, an enticing aroma wafted from the kitchen. It even drifted upstairs and downstairs through the cracks in the doors and windows.

Normally, this might have attracted attention. But now that every household is preparing a big meal, Old Shen's actions are less noticeable.

Bi Qiaoan played with An'an and Nuannuan for a while, then asked them, "Do you want to go outside and see Dad?"

Upon hearing this, the two children pointed outside and made "ah ah" sounds.

Bi Qiaoan chuckled, picked them both up, put them in the stroller, and then pushed them together into the living room.

Even though it was just a few steps, enough to carry one of them, Bi Qiaoan was afraid that a moment of carelessness would cause one of them to fall.

So she'd rather go through the trouble than let her children be out of her sight. After all, she'd fallen more than once when she was a child.

The two little ones weren't very well-behaved in the stroller. Before Bi Qiaoan could even take them out, they started crying out.

He even wanted to stand up.

Startled, Bi Qiaoan quickly picked up the two babies and placed them on the thick carpet. Then she sat down herself.

Actually, the dormitory living room is very small. In order to give An'an and Nuannuan a place to play, she and Shen Yanming moved the coffee table and sofa as close to the wall as possible.

Some of the items that were really in the way were moved to the guest room. A large area in the middle was left, and not only was a thick carpet laid out, but a thick quilt was also placed on top of it.

So it's fine for the two kids to roll around or crawl on it. As long as they don't crawl onto the cold ground, Bi Qiaoan won't interfere.

Perhaps the aroma from the kitchen was too tempting, drawing the two children's gazes repeatedly in that direction. They tilted their little heads, glistening drool dripping from the corners of their mouths.

Bi Qiaoan reacted quickly, grabbing a napkin to wipe their mouths. She chuckled and scolded, "You two are such gluttons, you just had your milk and you're already craving it again!"

Perhaps because her tone was too indulgent, the two children thought their mother was teasing them. They giggled and twisted their little bodies to hide.

Bi Qiaoan wasn't angry. She simply hugged the person and said, "Behave yourself. Mom will clean you up before you play."

An'an stopped struggling and let Bi Qiao'an do whatever he wanted to her face. Then she returned to the ground and continued crawling around.

He occasionally bumped into the sofa and tried to pull himself up. But he tried for a long time and failed every time.

The quilts there were thick, so Bi Qiaoan didn't take it seriously and let him work hard on his own.

Nuannuan, on the other hand, lay quietly, occasionally turning over, seemingly not in a hurry to walk at all.

Bi Qiaoan thought this was fine, no rush. After all, development takes time, and walking too early is bad for bones and can easily lead to bowlegs.

After more than an hour of effort, Shen Yanming finally finished cooking the meal.

Steamed fish, spicy shrimp, sweet and sour pork, romaine lettuce, teriyaki steak, corn with pine nuts, stir-fried bok choy with eggs, and mushroom soup.

It looks and smells delicious; it's very appetizing.

Even Bi Qiaoan couldn't resist picking up her chopsticks, let alone the two little ones.

They were staring intently at the food on the table, their mouths watering so much that their clothes were soaked.

The couple had no choice but to take turns eating. Their two little ones were so envious they were practically wailing.

Shen Yanming took out freshly squeezed juice from his spatial storage and reasoned with An'an and Nuan Nuan: "You two are still too young. You haven't even grown any teeth yet, so how can you eat meat? When An'an and Nuan Nuan are a year and a half old, they will be able to eat it."

"Drink your milk and juice first. Mom and Dad are saving the rest for you. We'll have a proper meal when you're older, okay?"
