Tear~
The sound of something extremely tough being forcibly torn apart by extreme violence rang out, followed by a shrill cry. The Golden Crow Immortal, now with only one wing remaining, revealed its true form, swaying and swooping down into the Heavenly Gang Layer below in a very disheveled state, not daring to linger for a moment, and plunged into it.
"Brother, why don't you tear this little golden crow apart? This isn't like you."
A slightly teasing question rang in the ear of the golden figure.
"He's just a spoiled little golden crow. Leaving him with one wing is enough to teach him a lesson. There's no need to take his life and provoke the golden crow clan's imperial prince. Although I'm not afraid, there's no need for me to clash with him."
The golden figure answered calmly.
"That's true. Fifth Sister has already been reincarnated, so there's no need for us to cause any more trouble!"
"Hmm, if I were to be reincarnated, would you still be able to handle it?"
The golden figure suddenly spoke and asked.
"Uh, bro, you're not kidding me, are you?"
"No, I'm telling you this very seriously."
"Fifth Sister has successfully reincarnated, but her memories haven't returned yet. Big Brother, isn't it a bit too early for you to reincarnate at this time? Shouldn't we wait a while longer, until Fifth Sister grows up and all her memories return?"
156n.
"I don't want to wait any longer. Even if I leave, my brothers and sisters can protect themselves."
"Brother, you jest. Let alone self-defense, how many people in this world are so blind as to dare to harass us seven brothers and sisters?"
"Infinite Heavenly Venerable!"
A chant of a Taoist name rang out in the once quiet void. Purple energy surged for 30,000 miles, stretching endlessly and filling the universe. Amidst the drifting pure energy, a twelve-petaled blue lotus throne appeared, upon which sat a Taoist priest with a white face, holding a whisk.
"What do you two intend to do?"
The Supreme Daoist, Xuanqing Immortal Lord, gazed at the golden figure before him. Although it was only one, he could also sense another hidden figure to the side, which he could not observe.
"Immortal Lord Zhao, don't you understand our intentions? Do you intend to stop us?"
In a place that should have been empty, the blue-clad figure slowly emerged from nothingness, yet even so, it still gave people a sense of illusion and unreality, as if it were a bubble that could burst at any moment.
“If you all wish to transcend, I naturally have no reason to stop you. However, this child is my son’s disciple, who has been wandering in this outer heaven. As his father, I can only act on behalf of my good-for-nothing son and bring him back.”
Immortal Lord Xuanqing wore a smile, but above his head, a Xuanhuang Immortal Pagoda was faintly visible.
Why did it come to this?
The young man in blue let out a sigh.
“Once they have entered my Supreme Dao and left their names in the Jade Register, I, as their elder, will naturally protect them. The path they choose to take is their own choice. No matter how many reasons you have, you cannot interfere with the path chosen by my Supreme Dao disciples.”
Immortal Lord Xuanqing shook his head slightly, and then replied.
"Interference? Ha! When he received the legacy of my fifth sister, why didn't you come out? If it weren't for our interference, could he have crossed the threshold of your Supreme Dao Human Race and entered the sect? How laughable!"
"Further words are useless. If you are unwilling to leave, then let's see who is truly skilled. It has been a long time since I have fought anyone, so today is a good day to have some fun."
The aura emanating from Immortal Lord Xuanqing grew increasingly dangerous, and this Celestial Immortal Dao Lord adopted a posture of not hesitating to fight.
"I……"
The golden figure was about to speak when the young man in blue grabbed him.
"Brother, this is not your true form, but merely an avatar. We cannot possibly fight a celestial being here; we cannot win!"
"pity!"
That imposing and domineering figure, with a distinct look of regret in his eyes, had heard of this Daoist immortal lord. Although he was just a rising star among the human race to him, it was enough to pique his interest.
"Let's go. So what if we let that kid make his own choice? It's just two paths. I don't believe he'll submit to fate."
As they conversed, the two figures, one golden and one azure, gradually faded away. These were merely avatars and could not be maintained for long. Their true forms remained in that gourd-shaped grotto, making it extremely difficult for them to move freely in the world, let alone travel to the Great Void. This was a constraint they had been subject to since birth.
Seeing the two beings retreat, Immortal Lord Xuanqing felt somewhat relieved, for these were two ancient beings whose origins could be traced back to the primordial era at the beginning of time. Even he had to treat them with caution.
"You are truly blessed!"
The immortal lord's gaze swept across the seemingly lifeless void. Golden crow blood, round like golden beads, was scattered everywhere. A wing, hundreds of feet long, seemingly cast from divine metal, was casually tossed aside.
With his keen eyesight, he could naturally tell that these items had been left behind by a Golden Crow with pure bloodline and considerable strength, and contained a portion of primordial power. That Golden Crow must have been severely injured, and its cultivation level might have even dropped.
However, his sigh was not for himself, but for Feng Bingwen. With his strength and realm, as well as the cave he possessed, he naturally disdained the blood and wings left behind by a Golden Crow at the Earth Immortal realm. To him, these were like chicken ribs, of no use.
"Gather!"
With a gentle wave of his whisk, the scattered blood of the golden crow gathered into a ball, which he then held in his hand, burning with the dazzling flames of the sun.
"good!"
Looking at the Golden Crow Blood in his hand, which was almost like a small sun, Immortal Lord Xuanqing nodded slightly, then tossed it into the remnant world where Feng Bingwen was.
Then the celestial being's gaze fell upon the golden wings that still retained powerful vitality and profound demonic energy. After pondering for a moment, he swept out with his whisk once more, and only one of the divine bird's wings fell into the remnant realm.
Meanwhile, in the ruined realm, Feng Bingwen was surrounded by the Xuan Yin Seven Kill Sword, with the corpses of demons lying all around him. In this broken little realm, he had killed almost all the remaining demons who were barely clinging to life.
However, he didn't just kill demons; he also killed quite a few people who had become alienated, depraved, and even insane. Surprisingly, no matter how many Heavenly Books he killed, there was no feedback or reaction.
The same applies to his acts of saving people; there is no increase in his good deeds, and it seems that everything he does is taken for granted and is reasonable.
His next task should be to gather the earth's veins into one place and create an area where crops can be grown and where the remaining people can live and thrive.
However, the strange movement from beyond the heavens captivated his attention. Feng Bingwen noticed the changes in the outside world, but the aftershocks emanating from the membrane between heaven and earth also made him tremble with fear. He could only wait quietly for the outcome.
However, he wasn't particularly worried, because the Heavenly Book hadn't made any corresponding changes to this reaction. If he were to face the calamity, all the evil deeds accumulated in the Heavenly Book should have been burned away.
This means that everything that happens in outer space, although close to him, will ultimately not affect him, nor can it have any impact on him.
While waiting, Feng Bingwen heard what seemed to be a massive entity emitting a mournful cry. Golden light even illuminated the sky, making the dim sunlight brighter.
After some time, Feng Bingwen saw the sky filled with purple clouds, and the golden light dissipated, leaving behind a peaceful purple aura.
As Feng Bingwen gazed at the purple aura covering the sky, his heart calmed down, for he sensed a familiar aura—the aura of the Supreme Daoist teachings.
A powerful being from the Supreme Dao has made a move. If nothing unexpected happens, he should be able to return to the world he knows and no longer have to wander in this dark, empty, and cold void.
Quack~
A strange cry rang out, and Feng Bingwen saw a sun fall from the sky and hover high in the firmament. Within the sun, a divine bird with a golden body and three sharp claws on its belly could be vaguely seen flapping its wings.
"Golden Crow?!"
Feng Bingwen exclaimed in surprise. This was a mythical creature on par with the true dragon. Feng Bingwen had only heard of it before but had never seen it. Today, he finally saw the appearance of this legendary being. It was indeed worthy of being the recognized royal family among the demon race.
"It's just a few drops of the Golden Crow's original blood; it's enough to temporarily make up for the lack of rules in this remnant realm!"
A Taoist priest, whose age was indeterminate and who stood on a blue lotus, appeared beside me, as if he had been there all along.
"If you cultivate enough in the future, you can capture a golden crow and make it the guardian of the heavens and the sun!"
"Greetings, Immortal Lord!"
Feng Bingwen was both surprised and delighted. He never expected that the Supreme Dao would be guided back to the world by this celestial being.
As for what he said, Feng Bingwen pretended not to hear it. Using a golden crow as a light bulb? Does that mean he should catch a real dragon and raise it in a pond? And raise a flock of phoenixes while he's at it?
"No need for formalities!"
Xuanqing Immortal Lord waved his hand, carefully examined this broken world, and then his brows furrowed slightly. He didn't need to ask the local people to deduce what had happened in this broken world.
"Go and guide the earth's energy. Once you've finished, I'll take you back, and then you'll have to make your choice!"
"What choice?"
Feng Bingwen didn't understand at all.
"To settle all causes and effects, transcend heaven and earth, and attain great freedom. Or, to act in accordance with the will of heaven, and roam freely between heaven and earth."
Immortal Lord Xuanqing explained the choice he was about to make in words that Feng Bingwen could understand.
Feng Bingwen frowned, trying hard to understand what the celestial being was saying. It sounded like he was being asked to either detach himself from heaven and earth or coexist with them, choosing one of the two options.
But given the choice he's faced with now, there's no need for him to even think about it.
---Aside---
Six chapters in three days, and excluding my own, there are only three comments in total. Honestly, it's really discouraging. I woke up this morning to find that the two chapters I updated last night hadn't received a single comment. I've been feeling down all day, with absolutely no motivation to write. I keep thinking, what exactly went wrong with my writing?
Most readers enjoy reading quietly, but if it's so quiet that there isn't a single comment, then there's something wrong with my writing, a really big problem.
