The Great Pirate Era.
The great seas surge and churn, powerhouses destroy and annihilate, each fighting their own battles. It's utterly—
Demotivating!
I, Russil Kuro, age tw...
Thirty years of development have brought about the biggest change for the sea: the world is now connected by sea trains. Of course, this is only partial; several kingdoms with large land areas have connected their ports to the sea trains, enabling rapid transportation.
But apart from being more financially secure, other areas haven't seen much development.
The world is too big. The new world government has only been established for thirty years, and the capitalist aristocracy has not been completely eradicated. Everything is still a long and arduous journey.
Compared to thirty years ago, the town of Luoge in the East China Sea has not undergone any revolutionary changes, except for the renovation of buildings and the expansion of the town area.
This place remains a port town frequented by those eager to enter the Grand Line, only now it's been transformed from a place teeming with pirates to one filled with adventurers... and a small number of reckless pirates.
A pirate ship slowly approached from the undeveloped territory behind Loguetown.
A captain drew his sword and gave orders to the surrounding pirates, "Men, once we land, hurry up and loot! Be quick, or the Navy won't be able to catch us. After we've looted the supplies, we'll head to the Grand Line!"
However, the pirates looked worried. One of them said, "But, Captain... that's Loguetown, the place with the most Marines in the East Blue, and Kuro is there too. Why don't we go somewhere else?"
Piracy is not as prevalent as it was thirty years ago; it's like rats in the street now. But there are still people willing to be pirates. After all, it's only been thirty years, and pirates have existed for a very, very long time. They existed even before the World Government was established.
This is impossible to completely prevent; there will always be people who don't want a stable life, who will embark on this path for wealth, freedom, or other miscellaneous reasons.
The captain was one of them.
"So what if it's Kro! How could he know we'd land from the back of Loguetown? If we're quick enough, he won't even have time to react, and we'll even gain more fame!"
The captain was thrilled at the thought of outsmarting that 'cunning fox,' as this was a golden opportunity to make a name for himself.
After all, Loguetown was under his control, and it was said that not a single pirate would escape!
The ship gradually approached the shallow land of Rogge town. Ahead lay a jungle, a place where almost no one ever came.
Those foolish navies only focus their defenses on towns and ports; how could they possibly notice this desolate place?
"Men, disembark and rob!"
As the ship approached the land, the captain, knife in hand, jumped overboard.
Bang!
Bang bang bang!!
The moment they landed, a gunshot rang out inexplicably, followed by more gunshots. One by one, the pirates around the captain were shot and fell to the ground, howling in pain.
The captain's eyes widened, and he shouted in a panic, "What's going on! What's going on!"
Soon, countless white figures emerged from the jungle. They were navy personnel in uniform, holding guns and knives, forming a semi-circle.
"The Navy?! How could this be! You actually ambushed us here!"
"Isn't this normal..."
A faint voice came from the navy, and a man wearing a navy cloak walked out unsteadily. The man was tall and upright, with a monocle on his fair face and a white top hat on his head, looking very gentlemanly.
He twirled his arm a few times in the air, then placed it on his chest, bowed slightly in a standard gentleman's salute, and said:
“With so many forts in Loguetown Port, no pirate with eyes would stop there. If you can all figure this out, then of course I, as a ‘cunning fox,’ would also figure this out.”
As he spoke, he reached out and gently pressed down, "Fire."
Bang!!
With the sound of gunfire, the captain, riddled with bullets, fell to the ground.
The gentlemanly navy officer smiled slightly and said to the corpse, "In the end, how could a pirate as cunning as a ground rat possibly think of charging in from the front..."
...
At the civilian port of Loguetown, a pirate ship flying an ordinary skull and crossbones flag docked at the harbor amidst the strange looks from the porters.
"Ah! We've finally arrived!"
A bald man emerged from the dock, stretching out his arms and shouting loudly, attracting the attention of many people. However, his shiny bald head, shining like a light bulb in the sunlight, seemed to blind them for a moment, and they all closed their eyes.
When I opened my eyes again, there was no one there.
"Let's go find the execution platform!"
On the street in front of the dock, a shiny bald man, filled with excitement, rushed forward and quickly disappeared into the crowd.
"Hey, wait a minute! You're Hai..."
Victoria, wearing a hooded cape, reached out to stop him, but couldn't see him anywhere. She said angrily, "What's wrong with this guy? He's always so unreliable!"
Mimir said, "Not really. It's just that the captain doesn't have a bounty yet, so strictly speaking, he's not a pirate. He can run away however he wants. Only you are the wanted criminal."
Victoria yelled, "Ahhh! Don't say such alarming things! And why did you stop the boat at the front? Wouldn't that make it easier to spot? You said we'd go through the back!"
Mimir shrugged and said, "Colonel 'The Cunning Fox' stationed in Loguetown is a smart man. We can all think of avoiding the port, so how could he not? Therefore, going straight in is the best option."
"Furthermore, although we fly the pirate flag, no one except you has a bounty. As long as we hide properly, even if others see us, they will only think we are playing cosplay."
