The Great Pirate Era.
The great seas surge and churn, powerhouses destroy and annihilate, each fighting their own battles. It's utterly—
Demotivating!
I, Russil Kuro, age tw...
Not long after Kuro set off for Wano Country, three large warships were sailing in the sea not far from the border of Dressrosa's territory.
The sky over this sea area was overcast, and raindrops were pouring down. With no shelter in sight, the wind was whipping up the waves, which were crashing against the hull of the warship.
The three warships formed a triangle. On the deck of the lead warship, a man wearing a navy cloak lowered his binoculars, revealing a resolute face and a distinctive beard, and said, "We're almost there..."
Beside him, a man with a sexy mustache stared ahead and slowly nodded: "The Kingdom of Ligurig, our destination on this trip, also serves as a scout for Dressrosa, to see what's going on."
"Dealing with the pirates first is our duty," the bearded man said in a deep voice.
“You’re right,” the man with the mustache nodded in agreement.
These two men were Douglas Cass and Brownhart Wilbur.
They were patrolling within Dressrosa when they received news of a massive pirate invasion in a place called the Kingdom of Riguri. Since they were nearby, they went straight there.
At the same time, as the decision-makers behind Dressrosa, they also have an obligation to decide which power Dressrosa will conquer next, which is known as 'scouting'.
This situation in the Kingdom of Ligur naturally attracted their attention.
This place is located above the border of Dressrosa's influence. It is a non-member state, and its territory is an archipelago, but apart from the main island, the remaining islands are very small and widely scattered, with very few people living there, so they can be ignored. The main island is shaped like a hammer, with a long top like the handle and a bottom like the hammer body.
Wilbur said, "Ligurig is a pretty good country. Its agriculture is excellent, and it is world-renowned for its high-quality corn and bananas. The king and nobles treat the common people well, providing them with ample food and wealth. The only problem is that they are often invaded by pirates. This is related to the fact that they are not a member state. If possible, the king might accept our theory and become part of 'Debon'."
They had information about this kingdom; it was a wealthy country where people lived quite well. The common people were very rich, and although the land belonged to the nobles, they were rewarded handsomely. However, pirates invaded too frequently, and this time was no exception. According to intelligence, the scale of the attack was quite large.
Such a country is one that Dressrosa can try to win over, and even if they can't, it's not their first target to deal with. Helping them would be a convenient thing to do.
That's what happens when they're in the navy.
Wilbur kept his eyes on the horizon as the three warships sped forward, breaking through the clouds and rain to reveal the island that resembled a giant hammer. He said, "We've arrived."
Cass reached out and beckoned, and a nearby Douglas Navy officer ran over and handed him the Den Den Mushi with a straight posture.
He picked up the microphone and said in a deep voice, "Gentlemen, prepare for battle."
The three warships were silent, but the naval personnel inside all drew their weapons in unison, silent yet exuding an aura of power.
The three large warships each can accommodate 800 people, with a maximum capacity of 1,000.
Cass and Wilbur, who inherited Kuro's policies, naturally organized themselves into units of a thousand. Their numbers were sufficient because they had obtained Vinsmoke's technology and acquired Vinsmoke's reserve of clones. After being trained by Cass, they could serve as either marines or soldiers in Dressrosa.
With these three thousand people, we can go anywhere.
The three warships quickly approached Longhammer Island, and even under the rain, they could still see flames rising in some parts of the island.
Wilbur frowned, picked up the microphone, and said, "Pirate ships spotted at two o'clock. They're firing cannons and preparing to land."
In their field of vision, there was a pirate ship docked in that direction.
The three warships quickly turned around, with the lead ship extending its main gun and the other two ships deploying their cannons on one side.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The cannonballs were blasted out through the rain, hitting the pirate ship repeatedly and instantly reducing it to smithereens.
As Wilbur spoke, three warships approached the shallows near the pirate ship, and the Douglas Navy fleet surged down like a tide, heading towards the dilapidated pirate ship.
There were pirates left on the pirate ship. Two pirates who were not killed by the explosion jumped out of the pirate ship and were immediately surrounded by the navy.
A pirate wearing a turban exclaimed incredulously, "Navy?! How come there are navies..."
Another pirate, whose arm appeared to have been blown off, stared wide-eyed at Cass and Wilbur leading a large force ahead, exclaiming in horror, "It's 'Giant Shield' and 'Big Spear'! What are you two doing here? This isn't Dressrosa, or even a member state of the World Government!"
They were quite famous in the New World.
"Just because we're not a member state, does that mean the navy has no obligation to deal with pirates?"
Cass walked over, looked down at them, and said, "Evil is evil wherever it is, regardless of the place. If you encounter it, you have to deal with it."
As he spoke, he stretched out his hand, about to order their execution.
"Wait, wait, I'll talk, I'll tell you everything, please don't kill me!" the one-armed pirate immediately said.
say what?
Wilbur held out his hand to stop Cass from giving the order, saying, "Wait a minute, Cass, see what they're saying."
Cass frowned and said, "What's there to say? Just kill the pirates."
