The Great Pirate Era.
The great seas surge and churn, powerhouses destroy and annihilate, each fighting their own battles. It's utterly—
Demotivating!
I, Russil Kuro, age tw...
The riot in Wano Country that Kuro had predicted did not happen. Two or three days passed, and they continued as before, even showing signs of life.
No one rebelled...
Not only did no one rebel, but craftsmen also spontaneously came to repair the castle tower.
In their words, they wanted to give the new general a complete family.
And he was all smiles...
This puzzled Kuro.
What, can he really become a shogun in Wano Country?
Is this so fantastical?
"General!"
At that moment, on the streets of the Flower Capital, a group of people from the Land of the Rising Sun saw Kuro strolling around, and they prostrated themselves on all fours and bowed down in worship.
Kuro could only smirk at this, then wave his hand, "Don't kneel, don't kneel, you're not allowed to kneel here."
But his words had no effect; the group remained kneeling there, leaving Kuro somewhat helpless.
He sighed, looked around, his eyes lit up, and he waved to one of the people maintaining order nearby, "Wilbur, come here!"
Wilbur was the one maintaining order. He quickly ran over, saluted, and said, "Mr. Kuro!"
"You handle it."
Kuro said something and then left.
This wasn't the first or second time he'd encountered such a scene. The castle tower was under renovation, and he had nowhere to stay, so he returned to the Golden Lion. He'd come here to wander around for no reason, but every time he came, he'd run into this kind of scene.
If he were truly the shogun of Wano Country, that would be one thing, but the key issue is that he's afraid of a rebellion. He's shamelessly acting as a shogun now, but what if he gets overthrown later? Wouldn't that be incredibly embarrassing?
What? He, a dignified Marine Admiral, was driven out of Wano Country?
That doesn't make sense.
"Kuro, Kuro!"
Not far away, Lida ran over with several skewers of oden in her hand, and handed them to Kuro like a treasure, saying, "This is delicious, have a taste!"
Kuro said irritably, "Eat, eat, all you do is eat! When are you going to give me some relief?"
Without any hesitation, he took all the oden from Lida's hand and swallowed it all with a big mouth.
"Waaah..."
Lida let out a low growl like a small animal, then snorted, picked up her backpack and rummaged through it, pouting, "I have a lot more!"
She pulled out a few cakes and said, "Look, these are dried persimmons, a specialty of Wano Country. They're delicious. And oh, and this... um?"
She took a bite of a few persimmons covered in sugar frosting, reached in to rummage around, then paused, pulled out a green fruit, and held it up to look at it: "What's this? A grape?"
Kuro stuck his head out, his eyes wide, and quickly snatched it from Lida's hand. "This is..."
The fruit is entirely green, somewhat resembling a whole grape, and also has a leaf-like shape, with dark blue patterns in the center of the light green leaves.
Devil Fruit!
Lida has been shipped!
Kuro only killed two people in Wano Country: Kaido and Linlin.
Neither of them has an illustration in the Pokédex, so Kuro can't recognize them. But no matter which one it is...
These are all incredible things!
Kuro gave Lida a strange look. "You... you've got a big one."
"Huh? A Devil Fruit? Damn it, it's taking up my snack space again!" Lida said angrily.
Kuro rolled his eyes. "Teach would be furious if he heard you say that."
"Boom boom boom..."
His Den Den Mushi suddenly rang.
Kuro turned it on, and the Den Den Mushi's appearance became iron-blooded and resolute.
"Kuro".
It's Sakazuki.
“Ah, Marshal Sakazuki,” Kuro replied.
The person on the other end of the Den Den Mushi chuckled: "First of all, congratulations on becoming a new naval hero. I approve of this title."
"?"
Kuro looked puzzled, then immediately realized, "Did they send a telegram from above?"
"The message has been sent. Your current location probably won't allow you to reach it, but that's alright. Come back. The higher-ups want to see you. Also, the navy wants you to report on your duties. We'll discuss the details when you get back."
Kuro glanced at the fruit in his hand and nodded, "Alright, I need to go back too."
"Should we find someone to switch with you on defense?" Sakazuki asked.
"No need, I can manage on my own, this is fine."
Kuro hung up the phone and looked at Lida. "You heard everything. Are you coming back with me?"
Lida shook her head: "I haven't had enough yet."
"Alright, you can eat here." Kuro nodded, then suddenly called out, "Wilbur!"
"Yes, Mr. Kuro!"
Wilbur teleports.
"You guys stay here and keep watch. Make sure nothing goes wrong and maintain the stability of Wano Country. I need to go back to headquarters. By the way, do you know where Kuzan is?"
Wilbur thought for a moment and said, "General Kuzan... no, Kuzan seems to have said he's going to soak in a hot spring."
Kuro nodded, picked up the fruit, and walked forward.
Lida also went to eat somewhere else; Kuro stole all her oden, so she had to go and buy more.
Wilbur watched Kuro's retreating figure, then turned back to look at the crowd who had stood up because of Mr. Kuro's departure, and nodded thoughtfully.
Then, he took out a small notebook and muttered to himself as he wrote: "Mr. Kuro said: Don't kneel, don't kneel, kneeling is not allowed here."
He solemnly placed the notebook against his chest, then pulled out a book with a gold cover and continued writing: "Kurozumi Orochi and Kaido represent the old power. Before them, every shogun would have made them kneel, but the new shogun..."
