I Just Wanted to Retire, But Was Forced to Become a General

The Great Pirate Era.

The great seas surge and churn, powerhouses destroy and annihilate, each fighting their own battles. It's utterly—

Demotivating!

Chapter 292 How can something involving the Navy be considered coveting their weapons?

"How can you slander someone's innocence out of thin air..." Kuro said, his eyes wide.

"What innocence? I saw you take a batch of scrapped weapons into the air the day before yesterday. You're just after other people's weapons."

Hearing Lida say this, Kuro's face flushed red, and the veins on his forehead bulged as he argued:

"How can you call naval matters 'coveting other people's weapons'!"

Then came a string of incomprehensible phrases, such as "contributing to the cause of justice" and "fighting evil," which drew snickers from Lida, filling the office with a cheerful atmosphere.

Amid Kuro's explanation, the Navy had already tied up all the unconscious people on the merchant ship and sent them aboard, then began searching the vessel.

Aside from the large-caliber heavy artillery, a large number of weapons were found in their ship's hold!

Or rather, apart from the necessary supplies, the ships were full of weapons!

In the office, Kuro picked up a knife and examined it closely. The reflection on the blade caught his eye. It was a katana. Beside it were a military sword and a broadsword.

Kuro put down his sword, picked up the long flintlock pistol beside him, raised it forward briefly, then put it down again, clicking his tongue and saying:

"This guy's a damn arms dealer..."

The ship was full of weapons; what else could it be but an arms dealer?

Moreover, the quality of this weapon is, to put it mildly, excellent.

Kuro ran his finger along the blade of a katana that lay to the side. "It has a paralyzing effect. The ore used to forge the weapon seems quite special. Strange..."

I vaguely remember this mineral, but I can't quite recall it.

Kro adjusted his glasses and said, "Eighty heavy cannons, five thousand swords, three thousand firearms, and countless lead bullets—this level of firepower is enough to wage a war that could destroy a nation."

"There are many countries currently at war in the West Sea, including the island's former owner, the 'Twin Horse Kingdom,' but the largest war right now is between the 'Flower Kingdom' and the 'Insect Kingdom.'"

“Mr. Kuro, this is very likely to have been sold to them.”

As a powerful nation in the Western Sea, the Flower Kingdom's war was far more intense than that of the small 'Twin Horse Kingdom'.

But similarly, they will also need weapons.

"Are they awake yet?" Kuro asked after thinking for a moment.

“I’m awake. I’m being watched by Cass and the others right here in the square,” Kro replied.

Kuro nodded and stood up. "Then let's go take a look..."

As he spoke, he took out a cigar, lit one, and left the office, walking from the base towards the square.

...

In the square, a group of people were tied up with ropes, while the navy stood around them, holding guns, forming a human-shaped circular wall.

"Hey, let me go, you navy guys!"

In the crowd, a chubby, luxuriously dressed merchant struggled on his own.

“We are law-abiding civilians. If you arrest us, you will be punished! I have connections with high-ranking officials of the World Government. We have a very good personal relationship. If you arrest me, you will all be punished!”

"Shut up!"

Cass stood before him, and the merchant was momentarily stunned by the sight of his heroic and resolute face beneath his large beard, unsure of what to say.

“The righteous navy will not be coerced by a guy like you who attacks towns in a chaotic manner!” Cass pointed at him, his face full of righteous indignation.

"I didn't do it on purpose. I just heard that pirates were occupying this place, and I just wanted to wipe them out. I'm a good person, a good person!" the merchant retorted.

"Come on, good people don't attack warships. We found a lot of weapons on your ship, you must be a bad guy!" Cass said righteously.

“Hey! The World Government has no rule against selling weapons. So what if I collect weapons and sell them?” the businessman shouted again.

This made Cass pause. It seemed that was true; the government hadn't prohibited the sale of weapons, and the Navy wasn't involved in combating such business.

"You attacked the navy and you still think you're in the right?"

Suddenly, the human wall parted to make way, and Kuro walked in with a cigar in his mouth and an air of authority.

"Colonel Kuro!"

Upon seeing the newcomer, Cass instinctively saluted.

"Colonel?"

The businessman was taken aback and looked at the somewhat arrogant-looking man. "Hey, if you're a colonel, you should understand that you have no reason to arrest me. I haven't caused any real damage to your navy. Be careful, or I'll get the World Government to demote you!"

The businessman had nothing to say to the bearded man with a righteous face but a low military rank, but he would definitely understand something about the colonel.

They must be afraid of the World Government. This person is so young to have become a colonel, he certainly won't let himself be demoted so easily.

Kuro walked up to him, blew a puff of smoke in his face, making him cough. "You not only attacked the Navy, but also threatened them. You're quite capable."

"Ahem, don't be so arrogant, Navy! You can't judge my crimes. Once I return, you will pay the price!"

"Really? You really can do it? I hope you can return one-tenth of your weapon." Kuro said.

The merchant, who had been shouting, suddenly paused upon hearing this. "Wait, give me back one-tenth? What did you do to my important goods, Navy!"

"ah?"

Kuro picked at his ear. "Your goods? How would I know about your goods? My Pegasus Island naval base has just purchased a new batch of weapons, but what does that have to do with you?"

He won't return the weapon, and he hasn't returned anything that was in his pocket.

"Hey, that's a specialty of Wano Country. Your World Government also does business with me. You'd better think this through, Navy!"
