The Great Pirate Era.
The great seas surge and churn, powerhouses destroy and annihilate, each fighting their own battles. It's utterly—
Demotivating!
I, Russil Kuro, age tw...
"Stay at...headquarters?"
Kuro's almost flying expression suddenly plummeted from the clouds.
"Headquarters?"
He repeated it again.
"Yes!"
Koby nodded: "I'm sorry, Mr. Kuro, I kept it from you yesterday, but I've actually been promoted to Sergeant Major. You were able to fight me to a draw, so your strength is enough to stay at headquarters. From now on, you'll be transferred to headquarters and become a Warrant Officer. Congratulations, Mr. Kuro!"
"Headquarters?"
Kuro repeated the same thing as if he hadn't heard Koby.
"Forehead..."
Koby waved to Kuro, "Mr. Kuro, no, Warrant Officer Kuro, are you too happy?"
I'm so happy, you grandma's mouth!
Kuro snatched the document from Koby's hand and stared at it through gritted teeth.
The document clearly states that he is now a warrant officer at headquarters, while Lida and Crowe have become privates at headquarters and have all been transferred to headquarters.
"Why, why did I stay at headquarters?"
Kuro's voice was so deep it sounded like he'd been drained dry by Lida.
Koby proudly raised his head, "Because of me, Mr. Kuro, with your strength, you can only truly shine if you stay at headquarters!"
Kuro wanted nothing more than to kill Koby with a single blow.
You should have said you were a sergeant earlier!
No, you're a sergeant, what are you doing here training people?
Sergeant and above in this unit don't need to come for training!
If I had known you got promoted, I would have just given up!
Seeing Kuro almost in a daze, Coby assumed he was overjoyed and smiled as well, saying, "Mr. Kuro, I will definitely learn from you more in the future. I've decided that before I become a naval officer, I will definitely surpass you. I'll be going now, Mr. Kuro."
No!
etc!
NO!
I don't want to stay at headquarters!
Kuro reached out his hand, watching Koby's figure grow faster and faster as he ran, and instinctively clutched his chest.
"What's wrong?" Lida asked.
"It feels like someone stabbed me in the heart."
Kuro took a deep breath: "No, I need to calm down. It's just a transfer to headquarters. I can still guard the East Blue. I still have Smoker. Smoker is definitely not as treacherous as Koby."
"Hey, Kuro, I've been looking for you for ages, here you are."
Just as Smoker was mentioned, he appeared, accompanied by Tashigi, a cigar dangling from his lips.
"It just so happens that your training ended on that day, and I've gotten you your transfer order."
Kuro's hope was rekindled; indeed, Smoker was a reliable man!
"Where is it? The East China Sea?!" Kuro asked excitedly.
"It's not the East China Sea."
Smoker's eyes darted left and right, he seemed hesitant to look directly at him.
"The Western Sea?"
"no."
"South China Sea?"
"no."
"North Sea?"
Why do you always think about the world?
"G-8 Fortress?" Kuro asked again.
Smoker shook his head and said, "Safer than Fort G-8!"
"where?"
"Headquarters."
"..."
Kuro stared at him for a moment, then said, slowly and deliberately, "Smoker?"
“Well…” Smoker turned his head away and said, “I did my best.”
"You fucking left me at headquarters and you're telling me your name is 'Strive for the Best'?!"
Kuro grabbed Smoker by the collar and roared viciously, "You promised me a completely safe place, huh?! If you can't give me a reason today, I'll make you lose a hand right here, you believe me? You'll be a man who loses an arm too!"
"Headquarters... is... absolutely safe."
"..."
Kuro remained calm and released Smoker.
"Ah, that seems to be the case."
His mind was constantly preoccupied with the Marineford War, forgetting that before that, headquarters was the safest place in the world, the safest place ever.
"Hey, here's the file. I have a mission, I have a mission. I'm leaving now. Tashigi, hurry up."
Smoker slipped away as fast as he could, even leaving a trail of white smoke, clearly afraid that Kuro might stab him later.
Judging from his expression, he doesn't seem to realize that he has already told Kuzan about it...
Kuro wasn't in the mood to take the documents; Lida answered them instead. He glanced at them, his eyes widening. "Kuro, it seems we've fallen under Admiral Kizaru's command."
"ha?!"
Kuro suddenly turned around, took Lida's file, and started reading it.
It's all written in black and white, crystal clear.
He is now not only a warrant officer at headquarters, but also part of the Kizaru unit.
Two cuts to the heart.
Fortunately, Kuro is starting to get used to it.
"It's alright, it's alright. Kizaru is the kind of old man who only goes through the motions. Getting into his unit is easy, which is actually a good thing. He doesn't know my strength, so as long as I don't reveal it, nothing will happen." Kuro comforted himself.
"Who is Kuro? Who is Kuro?!"
A tiger's roar came from afar.
A burly man was seen shouting around with a photo in his hand. Then he spotted Kuro, compared the photo to the picture, ran over, saluted, and said, "Warrant Lieutenant Kuro, I am Lieutenant Colonel Wade, a direct subordinate of Admiral Kizaru. Admiral Kizaru wishes to see you. Please go immediately."
The transition was actually quite good.
Kuro took a deep breath, then sighed heavily, and handed the document to Lida. "Alright, lead the way."
Kizaru, Borsalino, one of the three admirals of the Navy, and one of the World Government's top combat forces.
