The Great Pirate Era.
The great seas surge and churn, powerhouses destroy and annihilate, each fighting their own battles. It's utterly—
Demotivating!
I, Russil Kuro, age tw...
Half a month later.
A warship is docked in the port of Sabaody.
A group of sailors came down with a man dressed as a cook.
"So this is Sabaody..."
Olga stared at the colorful bubble that floated in the air and then burst, then looked at the pedestrians on the road, and said with some doubt, "I heard that Chambord is very lively, but why does this place look a bit deserted?"
In his mind, Chambord should have been a very lively place, but now, its level of prosperity puzzled him.
"That's because, some time ago, Mr. Kuro, who is also the base commander of this island, launched a large-scale purge against pirates and gangsters."
The bearded man next to him said with a hint of admiration, "Indiscriminately slaughtering criminals, risking offending powerful figures, killing more than 10,000 people just to restore peace to Chambord—this goal, this will, is truly admirable!"
"Feel the same."
Behind the bearded man, a burly man holding a cross-shaped pistol nodded and said, "When I first heard of it, I was also deeply impressed."
"Ten thousand..."
Olga's eyes widened upon hearing the number, and she broke out in a cold sweat. "That kind of murderous monster is your superior? You admire him?!"
"What do you mean by a murderous monster?!"
The bearded man said somewhat displeasedly, "Mr. Kuro, it was all done for justice and peace. It's okay if you don't understand, but please don't slander it."
"Sorry..." Olga realized what was happening and apologized to the bearded man.
"Hey, Cass."
Suddenly, a sound came from ahead.
Kuro approached with a group of marines. "It's been a long time."
"Ah...it's Mr. Chloe!"
Cass saluted him. "It's been a long time, Mr. Crow!"
Kro nodded and glanced at Cass's ribs. "How's the injury?"
"Thank you for your concern. I'm almost fully recovered. What I feel even more guilty about is that I couldn't defend Pegasus Island immediately and had to rely on other naval forces. I really have let Mr. Kuro down." Cass bowed his head guiltily.
"Didn't Mr. Kuro advise you about that, telling you not to take it to heart?"
As Kuro spoke, he suddenly seemed to remember something, and stepped aside to let the navy personnel behind him make way, introducing, "This is Colonel Wilbur, an officer at the Sabaody Naval Base, currently serving as Mr. Kuro's second-in-command. He has been wanting to meet you."
As soon as he finished speaking, a white whirlwind rose up from the navy and quickly arrived at Cass's side. Before Cass could react, his hands were pulled up by it.
A burly man, a head shorter than him, excitedly shook his hand. "Hello! You must be Colonel Douglas Cass! The shield of Major General Kuro, I am Wilbur, the man who wants to become Major General Kuro's spear!"
"oh!!!"
Cass's eyes lit up, and he turned to shake Wilbur's hand. "I see, so you have such ambitions! Let's work together!"
“Senior Cass!” Wilbur exclaimed excitedly, “Please allow me to learn how to serve Major General Kuro.”
"Just call me Cass. When it comes to serving Mr. Kuro, there's no distinction between first and last," Cass said passionately. "Let's fight for a bright future for Mr. Kuro!"
“Colonel Cass!!” Wilbur exclaimed, tears welling in his eyes.
“Colonel Wilbur!!” Cass was also moved to tears.
"So...so touching!" Donald, standing nearby, was also deeply moved by the scene.
"Hey, that's enough. You guys can deal with it yourselves later."
A black line appeared on Kro's forehead. "Who is Olga?"
"Uh, it's me..." Olga stepped forward, scratching her head.
"Come with me. Miss Lida wants to eat the donuts you make. I'll take you to the Navy's mess hall, and we can also let our head chef observe."
Kro adjusted his glasses and said, "Cass, as for you, weren't you looking for Mr. Kuro?"
"Ah...yes, I'm going to find Mr. Kuro."
Cass realized what was happening, reluctantly let go of Wilbur's hand, and followed him and Crowe towards the naval base.
Cass was not actually serving in Sabaody Archipelago; he was just at headquarters collecting his colonel rank and happened to stop by Sabaody. When Kuro learned of this, he simply told him to bring the 'renowned' Olga along, so he wouldn't have to go to Pegasus Island.
Inside the office.
Kuro sat at his desk, looking at an internal naval fax brought over by a naval officer, puffing out a puff of smoke as he smoked a cigar.
"Hmph, I knew it, this is fucking bullshit."
Kuro put down the fax and smiled dismissively.
"What's wrong?" Lida asked from the side.
"The ship transporting Snack and Rezan was attacked by the Big Mom Pirates, and the people were kidnapped," Kuro said.
"Huh? With Sengoku and Garp around?" Lida exclaimed in surprise.
"Of course not."
Kuro shook his head: "The person has already been handed over to the World Government, but then the World Government's ship was attacked. That's too fast. They didn't even go to headquarters, and the ship was attacked in the New World. I don't believe there's nothing fishy going on here, but... it's quite normal."
"The World Government is all about maintaining stability. If we really arrest Snack, who knows if that old woman will go crazy and try to stage a second 'Summit'? If that happens, I'll definitely be drafted. As for the Four Emperors, let them fight like dogs in the New World."
"The New World is in chaos right now. Several supernovas have broken in. Urouge defeated Snag, and that red-haired Kid stole a few of Linlin's ships. It's quite interesting... Let them have their fun. Anyway, the New World is not a place that the Navy can govern."
