The Great Pirate Era.
The great seas surge and churn, powerhouses destroy and annihilate, each fighting their own battles. It's utterly—
Demotivating!
I, Russil Kuro, age tw...
"Freebie?"
Kuro looked over in surprise, "Are all the people in the New World this bold?"
Hehehe...
Angus flicked the hammer open, aimed the gun at Kuro's temple, and said, "I'm very honest in business. Your life in exchange for your fur, this outfit, and that knife at your waist—it's a good deal."
"You're really after so many of my things..."
Kuro nodded and looked at the others. "Speaking of which, even if you get it, can you take it from these people?"
"Haha, what do you think this place is?"
Angus laughed and said, "This is the 'Lawless Kingdom' Krein. Whether you're a pirate or one of us, you can do whatever you want here, but there are rules too. If I make the first move, then you're mine."
"Give it to him..."
Boss Dick said in a deep voice, "Let me give you a piece of advice: if you don't want to die, give it to him."
"Yes, hand it over to me, and I'll save your life."
Angus chuckled softly and brought the pistol closer to Kuro's head.
At the same time, he took out a cigar box from his pocket, held it out for his underling to open, and one of the underlings was about to take out a cigar and put it into Angus's mouth.
laugh!
In that instant, a black light shone from around them, illuminating the somewhat dim tavern.
Angus and his henchmen were torn in two from the chest as the black light flashed, and a large amount of blood gushed out, staining the floor crimson.
*Smack*
Kuro caught the cigar box that fell from the sky and plopped down on the bar chair.
"So, in other words, if I kill you all, I'll be the first one to strike, and then your things will be mine too?"
He took a cigar from his cigar box, put it in his mouth, and without even looking at the corpse on the ground, said, "Fine, you can't hear me anyway, so I guess you've agreed."
"Hey boss, here's the fur for you, cleaning fee included. Same old deal, food, alcohol, and a light, please." Kuro said casually.
"You... okay."
Boss Dick gave Kuro a deep look, put away the fur, hesitated for a moment, and said, "I misremembered earlier. This thing is worth five million, but we won't offer you that high a price here. One million Berries, is that alright?"
"casual."
Kuro shrugged, then glanced around. The group of people were only slightly stunned by his strike before they began to whisper among themselves.
"idiot!"
A group of pirates sneered, "Alone in this place, they rushed up without a second thought. Well, they gave us a good test."
"Hey, did you see his attack just now?"
"No, it was too fast. I don't even know how they attacked, but they must be a master swordsman."
A group of people were discussing among themselves, but they were only surprised by the attack; none of them were afraid.
"Your fire."
Mr. Dick handed him a box of matches.
Kuro took the match, struck it, and lit the cigar in his mouth.
"call..."
He exhaled a puff of smoke, smacked his lips, and said, "This tastes like inferior stuff. Oh well, something's better than nothing."
He puffed on his cigar, tapped his finger on the table, gestured toward the noisy scene behind him, and said, "Has this place always been like this? Tell me about it."
Is this your first time here?
Boss Dick handed Kuro a glass, put ice in it, poured him a glass of wine, and said, "This is how the Kingdom of Krein is. It's a notorious 'lawless kingdom' in the New World. No matter who you are, you can get everything here just by force."
"Oh? The kingdom doesn't care?"
"kingdom..."
Boss Dick shook his head and said with a self-deprecating tone, "The kingdom even supports it, but only against pirates and illegal merchants. Its own citizens are not allowed to do these things."
"You should have seen it when you came here, right? Every household kept their doors closed. It's not just because it's raining heavily. Even if it weren't, they wouldn't dare to go out rashly, otherwise they would be arrested. It's not just those human traffickers; the country itself is also arresting people. They need labor to mine."
"The Kingdom of Krein... The king regards this place as his playground, and his people are merely his prey."
Dick's voice was heavy, and a shadow of gloom unconsciously crossed his face as he spoke.
"oh?"
Kuro looked at him and said softly, "Are you a citizen of this country?"
"No, I'm not..."
Dick shook his head and said, "I am a pirate, but I have retired. I settled here a long time ago."
As he spoke, he patted his leg and said, "You can't see it from behind the bar. This leg of mine was broken in a shipwreck, so I had to open a tavern here. They're giving me face, knowing that if I were gone, given these people's personalities, there wouldn't even be a place to drink here."
"So that's how it is, a retired old pirate..."
Kuro nodded, about to say something, when suddenly, a laugh rang out from the side.
"Haha, stop joking, Dick. Who would give you face?"
A burly man sat down and said, "With your foul temper, you're only alive now because you saved King Krein, right? If we kill you, he'll be angry. We still want to 'hunt' in this country."
"I didn't save him!"
Dick seemed to have been provoked; his pupils contracted, and his eyes became bloodshot. He roared at the burly man, "Never!!"
