The Great Pirate Era.
The great seas surge and churn, powerhouses destroy and annihilate, each fighting their own battles. It's utterly—
Demotivating!
I, Russil Kuro, age tw...
I owe my current position to the fact that no one on the high seas is innocent, neither the Navy nor the pirates. —Lucilfer Clow, a renowned Navy Vice Admiral and Admiral candidate.
After realizing that he was beyond saving, Kuro sat on the chair like a stone puppet. The other marines thought Kuro was too happy and didn't pay much attention, and left one by one.
An hour later, after waiting in vain, Lida, along with Kas and Kro, arrived.
"Mr. Kuro!!!"
As soon as they reached the door, Cass exclaimed excitedly, a sound that stirred something within Kuro's seemingly broken gaze.
"Kuro, what's wrong?"
Seeing Kuro sitting there blankly, Lida walked over and patted him on the shoulder in a carefree manner, chuckling, "It's okay, it's just a promotion, no big deal."
Of course she knew why Kuro had become like this; this cowardly monster who didn't want a promotion had finally been stripped bare.
“Mr. Kuro…”
Kro, standing nearby, also advised, "There are still ways to remedy this."
“Clo…”
As soon as Kuro finished speaking, Kuro said, "Come here."
These words caused Chloe's eyes to twitch.
He seemed to see a large red "Danger" character flashing above Kuro's head.
But he couldn't disobey his superior's orders, so he swallowed hard and took a step forward.
Kro swore he really did take one step.
Suddenly, Kuro transformed into a black shadow and leaped up, appearing directly in front of him. Kuro grabbed his neck with both hands and shook him violently.
"Tell me the hell how to fix this?!"
Kuro roared, his face contorted with rage, "I'm really going to build a coffin-shaped flagship!!!"
"Kuro, Mr. Kuro... can't breathe."
Kuro's eyes rolled back as he painfully patted Kuro's hand.
"grass!"
Kuro shoved Kro aside, veins bulging on his forehead. "Do you even know how much psychological damage I suffered? You have no idea! All you know is yourself! Lieutenant General! Or rather, a candidate for General, and you even have a codename, you even have a codename!"
"Golden Lion, Golden Lion, you know what? It's actually a pretty damn good match for me!"
“Normally when I ask you to come up with ideas, you’re either slacking off or chatting with people. You’re completely useless when it really matters. When I first met you, you were just a warrant officer, and now I’m a lieutenant general! A lieutenant general!!” Kuro roared.
“You’re going on another incompetent rage, Kuro,” Lida said disdainfully.
"Shut up, Lida! You too! I met you before, when you were a sergeant! And now?! And now?! You better be more discerning!"
"Barbecue? Where?" Lida looked around.
Kuro: "..."
Did you catch the lily bulb from the bellflower?
Kas, the only one who didn't quite understand Kuro's true thoughts, just stared blankly at the screen.
Why is Mr. Kuro so angry?
He's become a lieutenant general, isn't that something to be happy about?
And why were the words spoken so sarcastic...?
Defeating the Golden Lion, defeating Redfield, defeating Bondi Wald—these are all world-renowned pirates in Mr. Kuro's resume. This is an honor he should enjoy. Why is he so angry?
etc...
Cass looked at Kuro, his eyes inexplicably welling up with tears. He reached out and wiped them away with his sleeve. "Yes, yes, I understand, Mr. Kuro, I completely understand you!"
Cass's inexplicable crying made Kuro's angry expression vanish, and he looked at Cass with a strange expression, "What do you know?"
“Mr. Kuro, you shouldn’t have been promoted to lieutenant general,” Cass said excitedly.
Kuro opened his eyes wide and looked at Cass in surprise.
"Do you really understand?" Kuro asked.
"Um!"
Cass nodded vigorously: "Mr. Kuro, he shouldn't have been promoted to lieutenant general. In this situation, not promoting him is the best course of action."
He actually understood?!
I actually understood it!
Cass's words made Kuro lean back tactically, and even his anger lessened considerably.
That's rare!
After all this time, the bearded man finally understood what he was thinking!
"I'm glad you understand!"
Kuro wailed, "I shouldn't have been promoted to this position! How am I supposed to face anyone now?!"
"Waaaaah, Mr. Kuro, I completely understand you!"
Cass couldn't even stop wiping away tears with his sleeves anymore, and simply raised his head and burst into loud sobs: "This is so tragic, so heartbreaking, I completely understand you, Mr. Kuro!!!"
"Stop, stop, stop crying."
Kuro said with a headache, "Why are you crying, you big man?"
"He shouldn't have been promoted to lieutenant general, he shouldn't have been promoted at all!"
Cass was in tears: "In that case, Mr. Kuro, your ambition will not be realized!"
Yoho!
So you now know about my ambitions?!
Kuro's eyes widened, revealing an expression of disbelief.
It wasn't easy!
This troublesome thing finally understands his intentions.
Come to think of it, after all, he's been with me for so long. Even though Cass keeps messing with him, maybe he'll finally get it. Look at what he's saying, it's exactly what I wanted to hear.
"It's alright, it's alright."
Seeing Cass weeping, Kuro lost his composure and stopped raging. Instead, he comforted Cass, saying, "It's just a promotion to lieutenant general. It's not a big deal. As long as you understand me, and we work together, my ambition will be realized sooner or later."
