The Great Pirate Era.
The great seas surge and churn, powerhouses destroy and annihilate, each fighting their own battles. It's utterly—
Demotivating!
I, Russil Kuro, age tw...
They didn't know where the warship came from, but they knew that the people on board were not navy personnel, but outright pirates.
Using the protective aura of the white mist, a group of sailors on the ship set up the still-intact cannons and fired shells.
"ten times!"
With Wilbur's power, the shells suddenly expanded and flew straight toward the warships.
Logically speaking, given the combined abilities of Cass and Wilbur, their forte should naturally be artillery and gunfights involving long-range weapons.
However, in this world, ability is sometimes considered unfair.
The shells suddenly froze in mid-air, remaining suspended in the air. Then, as if they had lost all power, they fell to the ground without even exploding, sinking into the sea.
"Seriously, after bombarding it for so long, has this ship still not been taken care of?"
On the warship, a pair of feet wearing leather boots slowly walked over. The pirate who was standing on the bow giving orders turned around and immediately stood aside.
"captain!"
"Um..."
The man nodded, walked to the bow of the ship, glanced at the white mist emanating from the warship, and said, "An ability user? Hurry up and blow up the ship, don't waste time."
The man in leather boots had a scar on his face that ran from his left temple to his right chin. He had his hair slicked back and wore a black cloak. He looked to be over sixty years old.
"Captain, those on the other side should be 'Giant Shield' Cass and 'Big Gun' Wilbur, well-known Marines," the pirate said. "They won't be so easy to deal with."
"What is that? I've never heard of it."
The man raised his head arrogantly, "You've become arrogant and ignorant just because you've gained a little fame. If we don't teach you a lesson, the Navy will think we're cowards!"
"That's true..."
On another besieging warship, a man dressed as a pirate captain laughed and said, "Brode, this time we're going to turn the world upside down!"
"I'm not one of you."
On another warship, a man with white curly hair said, "It's just a temporary cooperation. After breaking G-3 and dividing up the weapons and ships, I'm going to find that red-haired brat for revenge!"
Brod snorted coldly: "We're all the same. This is just a temporary cooperation to teach the Navy a lesson. After being imprisoned for so long, we have to do something to announce our existence."
"Hurry up, I'm already tired of it."
On another warship, another person spoke up, "It's taken so long to deal with such a small navy. I'm about to have to take action myself."
"Heh, I have no objection. I'd really like to see what kind of methods the 'senior' who was once famous throughout the sea has."
On the last warship, a relatively young man was smiling:
"However, these marines are quite good. Hey, you guys over there, if you surrender, you won't have to die. It's a waste for you to be marines, come and be pirates!"
His response was a cannonball.
But soon, the shell froze in mid-air and fell helplessly.
There were a total of five warships besieging the area.
"Let the fishmen go. Sink the ship. Ability users are useless in the water, they're like ducks that can't swim," Brod said calmly.
"Support! Calling for support!"
Amidst the besieged warships, Wilbur gritted his teeth and said, "Call for backup immediately!"
"No, Colonel!"
A navy officer clutched a Den Den Mushi in despair, saying, "We can't make any calls at all. The signal seems to be blocked. We've been trying to make calls, but there's nothing we can do!"
"Has justice... been disgraced by me?!"
Wilbur's eyes were bloodshot as he stared at the warships and said, "We've actually been driven to this point by pirates!"
Cass, standing to the side, also had a somber expression.
"Mr. Kuro... I can no longer serve you."
He raised his head and murmured to the sky, "I long to see you shoulder justice and become a great general, and I long to spread your teachings and justice throughout this vast ocean..."
He paused, took a deep breath, and shouted, "Fellow sailors, there is no need to be afraid! The sea is the eternal home of every man of the sea! For the navy, dying in battle is an honor! As long as the navy exists, as long as there are people who inherit our will, justice will never perish! We will not disappear; we will live on forever in the spirit of justice, just like those naval predecessors who created peace on the sea!"
Though I die, justice lives on! In the name of unwavering justice, I will never surrender to pirates!!
"Never surrender to pirates!!!"
The navy men roared.
Infected by the white mist, each person's gaze became resolute.
They were neither afraid nor cowardly; one was the Douglas Naval Squadron, possessing an iron will.
The other is the elite navy of G-3, who have long since disregarded life and death.
The shells continued to bombard the area.
The warship was gradually pierced through, its mast was blown off by cannonballs, and the aftershocks of the explosions caused the ship to rock violently on the sea.
Meanwhile, strange noises came from below, causing the warship to sink little by little.
Those are fishmen chiseling a boat from below.
That's how Wilbur's ship was blasted open.
And those sailors who fell into the water...
Cass looked out at the sea, his eyes filled with sorrow.
But this is the ocean.
There has never been a battle between the navy and pirates with zero casualties.
War means death, whether it's the navy or pirates.
The relationship between the navy and pirates has never been a battle, but a war.
Even someone as strong as Mr. Kuro gets injured sometimes.
