The Great Pirate Era.
The great seas surge and churn, powerhouses destroy and annihilate, each fighting their own battles. It's utterly—
Demotivating!
I, Russil Kuro, age tw...
At that speed, they'll arrive here very soon.
Even if they leave now, it's too late. The navy still needs to reorganize. In the time it takes them to reorganize, Shiki will arrive. He can't expect Shiki to be weak, can he?
Moreover, there are people on this island.
"Calm down, calm down!"
Kuro took a deep breath. He needed to think things through before facing such a renowned pirate.
We can't expect him to have divine assistance like the main characters.
Instead of hoping for that, it's better to hope that lightning strikes this old man dead right now. And it has to be a targeted strike; if it misses, it won't work. It has to be a single, decisive strike that will definitely kill him.
However, Kuro wasn't too afraid of his known opponents.
What humans perceive as the most dangerous thing is, of course, the unknown.
This is also why Kuro felt he wasn't strong enough, and why he didn't want to go to the Grand Line, much less the New World.
There are too many people with unusual abilities.
A barrier that even a master swordsman cannot break.
It has the ability to make someone's age regress by ten years with just a touch.
The same ability to turn a person into a toy with a single touch.
Or it could be the ability to make people smaller or older.
The ability to become extremely depressed after being pierced by a ghost.
This is a power of miracles, and it's best used to effectively strike the user's physical body. Striking the ability itself? No one has been able to do that yet.
There are probably more than just these strange abilities on the high seas; there must be even more bizarre ones.
And then there are those powerful beings who are so strong they are almost capable of destroying the world.
These are the people Kuro doesn't want to encounter; he's still too weak.
But now that we can't avoid it, what we know is better than what we don't know.
There's still room for maneuver.
"Let me think about it. The Golden Lion is over seventy or even eighty years old now. As people get older, their physical abilities will decline."
Is it true that the older you get, the stronger you become?
Stop fooling around.
Physical fitness will inevitably decline as you get older.
"And he disappeared for twenty years, which means he didn't fight for twenty years. It didn't have much of an impact, but his combat experience would have deteriorated considerably."
"I remember this guy had a ship's wheel stuck on his head, which affected his Haki. He probably lost his Conqueror's Haki, and his Observation Haki would also have deteriorated a lot."
"As for my current strength, the old man was right. I am an admiral candidate, but there is a gap between me and the admirals and the Four Emperors. However, even the current Golden Lion is not as good as them."
Kuro squinted, "We can pull this off!"
Actually, he wanted to leave; he didn't want to stay.
However, I can tell that the Golden Lion is already quite close.
We can't leave!
If we passively wait for the Golden Lion to arrive, then in battle we would have to consider our subordinates and civilians, and if we fought in front of them, the outcome would be known, which would not be in line with our original intention.
Then there's only one choice left!
"Lida, Chloe, keep up with me!"
Kuro gritted his teeth, "Let's go meet that legendary great pirate!"
"No way, that's a golden lion."
Lida's expression turned strange, and she shouted, "You're going to deal with him?!"
"Um, could I stay and reorganize the navy and civilians? I feel they need me."
Kro raised his hand.
He didn't want to go at all.
"Do you think I want to go?!"
Kuro glared at Kro, "I don't care, you have to come with me. I can't even be safe, and you still want peace and quiet? Dream on!"
"Besides, your combat strength is sufficient. More people mean more combat strength."
With that, Kuro stepped on the air, directly stepping out of the wall that had just been smashed by the slash, and flew away as a blur.
Lida sighed, "Crossing the ocean...what a hassle, and I'll be hungry again."
She adjusted the small backpack full of snacks on her back and followed after him with moon-like steps.
Having no other choice, Kro used Moonwalk to enter the air as well, heading towards the sea.
Moonwalk is the most practical of the six techniques. As long as you have enough stamina, you can walk from the East Blue to the headquarters without anyone stopping you.
But basically no one is that bored, and no one has that much energy.
Kuro used his Observation Haki relentlessly, sensing the location of the Golden Lion as he perceived it, and strode forward, stepping on the air above the sea.
Above the East China Sea, there are several huge islands connected together to form a floating island group, and on the largest island, there is a royal palace.
Inside the palace, an elderly man with a dashing head of blond hair, a ship's wheel stuck in his head, and a cigar in his mouth smiled.
"Oh? The meteorite I controlled was destroyed?"
He could naturally sense the islands he controlled; now that the islands had disappeared, it meant they had been destroyed.
"I originally just saw a town and was thinking of destroying it, but I didn't expect there to be a surprise. Are there any powerful people here?"
The man sitting on the throne grinned maliciously: "The powerful figures of the East Sea, it must be quite interesting to destroy them!"
He didn't believe it could be destroyed by cannons. The island was so large that ordinary shells couldn't do it, and besides, the island he casually abandoned was destroyed in an instant.
Puff, puff, puff, puff...
A series of extremely strange footsteps, sounding like farting, rang out.
"Lord Shiki, three people have been detected approaching."
The man had a clown-like face that looked like it had been painted with white powder. He raised his hand, and a projection appeared on the opposite wall. On the projection, Kuro and his two companions were stepping in the air and gradually approaching this side.
The golden lion's eyes widened in disbelief. "Eh? It can fly?!"
