The Great Pirate Era.
The great seas surge and churn, powerhouses destroy and annihilate, each fighting their own battles. It's utterly—
Demotivating!
I, Russil Kuro, age twen...
After laughing, the three of them started walking in unison. David extended both hands to shake David's, and Cass and Wilbur each extended one hand to shake David's hands tightly.
It was an excitement like encountering a kindred spirit, and I lingered there for a long time.
"I'm so lucky!"
David exclaimed excitedly, "It's such a privilege to meet you both, Mr. Cass. I've always heard of you. You've made the greatest contribution to the Lord's cause. During your time stationed on Pegasus Island, you wiped out more than half of the pirates active in the West Blue, ensuring the Lord's reputation remained intact. I'm always filled with emotion whenever I think about it. It's a pity I'm a king; otherwise, joining the Navy and fighting alongside the Lord would have been my lifelong dream!"
“Mr. Wilbur, the quotes you gave me from my master have been incredibly helpful. Every time I read them, I have a different experience. Please send me more of what my master said in the future so I can learn even more. Although I can't see my master, reading his words feels like he's right there beside me, giving me pointers. You are truly remarkable for being able to summarize what my master said!”
"You flatter me!"
Cass said solemnly, shaking David's hand heavily. "For a king of such noble birth to be so humble, and most importantly, to agree with Mr. Kuro's ideals of justice and dedicate oneself to them, is what we admire! In comparison, my contributions are far from worth mentioning. I am merely a junior apprentice behind Mr. Kuro's justice. You think my contributions are all due to Mr. Kuro's teachings."
“Me too. I only heard a little of Mr. Kuro’s sense of justice. All I did was copy it down. It’s far from enough. I don’t deserve the ‘remarkable’ evaluation you gave me. However, we are all the same in our dedication to Mr. Kuro’s ideals of justice!” Wilbur nodded.
The three fell silent again, exchanging glances that seemed to spark a connection.
“Mr. Cass! Mr. Wilbur!” David couldn’t help but say, “Let’s work together! If the two of you dedicate yourselves to this cause, perhaps the master’s long-cherished wish can be fulfilled in our hands!”
“Don’t call me ‘sir,’ just call me Cass, King David,” Cass said excitedly.
“Me too!” Wilbur exclaimed excitedly.
"Don't call me king, just call me David. I am only king because of my master's request. My master is the king in my heart!" David said excitedly.
The three exchanged glances for a moment, and then spoke.
"Cass!"
"Wilbur!"
"David!"
The three called out to each other, their eyes sparkling with growing affection, revealing a deep mutual respect.
“Then I won’t stand on ceremony, David. Since you are the King of Dressrosa, why have you conquered so many countries? Although you are a righteous man, isn’t all this conquest unjust?” Cass asked the question he had been wanting to ask.
Dressrosa has recently gained a strong reputation on the high seas, rising to become a military power, and their navy, which is concerned about the outside world, has naturally heard about it.
"For the master's long-cherished wish!"
David solemnly said, “My lord desires world peace. As his knight, it is a knight’s duty to fulfill his wish. There are too many countries on the sea. Even if I don’t conquer them, they will spontaneously attack each other. That way, the world will never be at peace. It’s better for me to take action and bring them into a unified nation. As for why we are attacking here, it’s because world peace is a very grand goal. Before that, I must ensure peace around my lord.”
"I, and Dressrosa, will clean up the countries around you, my lord. If it becomes one large nation, and there is enough peace, the number of people who want to go to sea to become pirates will definitely decrease. Moreover, it will protect you, my lord, and bring peace to the waters around you!"
Cass opened his eyes wide. "Sparashi! Sparashi! You've thought so far ahead, David, you're amazing!"
"It's just the only thing I can do by taking advantage of the location. It's nothing remarkable. This is all I can do."
David scratched his head sheepishly, then sighed, "And this is all we can do. Although we've connected to your seas and gotten close to you, sir, in terms of shipping routes and territory, we've reached our limit. Because of the long war, it's difficult for nearby countries to sell us supplies easily; they all pay high prices. We don't have enough money for my conquest and development."
As he spoke, he looked outside the palace and said, "After conquering Laya Island, it will need to be rebuilt and transformed into an environment similar to Dressrosa. The costs involved will force me to stop and prevent me from moving forward."
"I can donate my salary!"
Cass shouted, "It may be a small amount, but please let me contribute!"
David looked touched. "Although I really wanted to say no, given the situation back home, I still need it, even if it's just a little. My master once said, 'Don't underestimate small things; when they come together, they become huge.'"
Wilbur nodded: "That's from the quote on page 3, section 15 of 'The Sayings of Justice'."
Donald, who arrived from behind: "..."
If he remembered correctly, Lieutenant General Kuro said...
...
"Lida, can you please be more mindful of your spending? You can't spend money like this! You've already exceeded the limit. Even if you're rich, don't waste it. Don't rush to throw money away and run off just to buy something. You have to wait for them to give you change!"
"Huh? But I can't wait. Besides, I have my subordinates to collect it for me. And I haven't exceeded the limit by much, just a hundred more Berries."
