The Great Pirate Era.
The great seas surge and churn, powerhouses destroy and annihilate, each fighting their own battles. It's utterly—
Demotivating!
I, Russil Kuro, age tw...
Let's go.
Kuro, with one hand on the ship, directly confronted the swirling, rising ocean current, saying, "Let me see what kind of treasure this is that's causing such a stir."
The towering ocean current is an extremely dangerous thing. Many pirate ships that approached this place before him were also caught in the current, but either they were unlucky or they had problems with steering, and they fell directly off the current column and crashed into the sea and broke apart.
But Kuro doesn't have this problem.
He was just going through the motions, giving the current face by pretending to be caught in its whirlpool and then moving towards the current. But as soon as he climbed the current column, he steered the boat close to it, flying upwards at a leisurely pace.
Kro pushed up his glasses. Since they were flying vertically upwards, he stood directly on the mast, his expression calm.
Lida, however, was completely unconcerned. She gripped the deck tightly with her feet, and the upright ship posed no threat to her whatsoever.
"Wow, is this the Sky-Piercing Current? I've seen it before, but I've never been up there," she said excitedly.
While such towering currents are rare in the Grand Line, they do exist. Lida had seen them when she ventured out alone before, but she didn't dare to go near them. Back then, she only had a small boat, and sometimes even just a small raft. Going into those currents would have been suicide.
She took out her binoculars and looked up. Above the ocean currents, where bubbles scattered like fountains, the top of the huge island, enveloped in bubbles, had a prominent cliff that shimmered with golden light.
"Gold coins! Treasure!" Lida's eyes lit up. "Kuro, I see gold coins!"
"Let me see it."
Kuro reached out, and Lida handed him the binoculars. He looked directly at them and, sure enough, saw a golden mass.
At the edge of the cliff, there was a dilapidated sailboat surrounded by piles of gold coins, gems, and weapons of luxury. However, on top of all this, there was a shabby treasure chest that seemed completely out of place.
"Is it that thing? The so-called 'treasure'?" Kuro muttered.
But it's hard to say; what if it's just a publicity stunt?
Festa didn't understand, but judging from his own experience, if he were to organize this kind of treasure hunt game...
It's probably impossible. He wouldn't spend his money here; only an idiot would keep so much treasure here.
But if that's the case, he'd have a slightly morbid sense of humor and put some life proverbs or something in that old, worn-out box.
For example, leave a note that says: You've received some junk like 'courage' and 'wisdom'.
“The island is nice,” Kuro remarked. “The scenery is beautiful; I’ll use it to fill up my sky.”
Treasure?
Others might be looking for gold coins when they're treasure hunting, but he's looking for treasure—he'll give you the whole island!
"We went up."
Kuro put down the telescope, flicked his finger, and the ship, which was almost at the end of its journey, surged upwards, flew up, and then crashed down, sinking into the bubbles and heading towards the island.
"Oh!! The first group to arrive on the island has arrived. Let me see... It's a pirate crew I've never seen before! Oh! It's landed. Unfortunately, it seems to be landing on land. Ah! It's going to crash!"
The host was giving a passionate commentary.
It's impossible for him to crash into it. Kuro is so smart and capable, speaks so well, and uses his abilities so effectively. There's absolutely no way he could crash into it.
He flicked his finger again, and the ship, which was about to land, suddenly hesitated at the last moment, stopping abruptly just inches from the ground before finally falling.
The ship landed unharmed.
"Oh!! There were no problems at all. It seems that the members of this pirate crew all have amazing abilities! Let's turn the camera over... Hmm, the latest information: this pirate crew is the recently famous 'Flying Rudder Pirates,' and their captain, Gilgamesh, has a bounty of 300 million. He is a rare supernova!"
I don't know where the camera came from, but Kuro's face just appeared on the big screen.
With a slicked-back hairstyle and a strand of hair framing his forehead, he revealed a face that exuded both domineering presence and mystery.
In the world of One Piece, aside from a few pirates who have interacted with him and are still alive, most pirates have only heard of the name "Golden Lion" in the Navy and may not actually know him, especially when Kuro is disguised.
However, that doesn't mean nobody here knows them.
Bang!
In a secluded room, a burly man stared at the person displayed on the screen, crushed the pebbles he was playing with in his hand, and grinned, revealing a pale smile.
"You're here!"
...
Besides Kuro's ship landing, the remaining ships, large and small, landed on the island. Most of the ships did not land on the lake, but on the ground, resulting in shipwreck and loss of life. A few powerful individuals survived by using the ships, and then rushed straight to the edge of the cliff.
Some pirates also spontaneously formed crews to eliminate those they perceived as threats.
"Take this guy down first!"
A group of pirates rushed towards the old man who resembled a stick insect.
'Insect King' Rhodes!
An old man, but some of them recognized this 'legendary' pirate. Although they didn't understand why such an old senior would come here, taking him down first was the right thing to do.
They need to take him down first before they can get the treasure.
Hehehe...
Rhodes licked his lips, then suddenly pulled his long arm forward, slashing it like a scythe at the charging pirate.
