The Great Pirate Era.
The great seas surge and churn, powerhouses destroy and annihilate, each fighting their own battles. It's utterly—
Demotivating!
I, Russil Kuro, age twen...
The presence of that aura meant that Kuro was being monitored and had been recognized by the owner of that aura.
Barrett!
Just as Kuro was about to open the wooden box, a dark shadow suddenly flashed past him.
"Put those things down!!"
The shadowy figure was semi-transparent, with a hint of feathery luster, and suddenly appeared on Kuro's face, bringing with it a gust of wind that kicked Kuro's body.
Kuro didn't even look, he just turned to the side and kicked out.
Bang!
The kick struck the semi-transparent object, the immense force producing a muffled groan as it became visible.
It was a half-humanoid figure, the color of the sky, because its body, from its back, was covered in feathers, like that of a bird.
With that kick, the person flew backward and rolled onto the ground. In an instant, the feathers covering his back disappeared, and he transformed into a normal human form.
Kuro glanced at it and said very quickly, "Captain of the Monster's Head Pirates, 'Near God' Macaulay Warner, bounty 255 million."
This 'near-god' had an ordinary appearance and build. Apart from wearing a captain's hat, he was just an ordinary passerby who would be a background figure if placed on the ground.
"Tch, got hit?"
Warner stood up, patted his chest, and looked at Kuro. "'King' Gilgamesh? He's got some skills. I thought he was just a fool who randomly put up a fake bounty, but it seems he has some strength. Hey, hand over the treasure, you don't want to die, do you?"
Kuro chuckled. "No, there are three of us and you're just one person. Why should I hand you over?"
Warner grinned maliciously: "Whoever holds the treasure is everyone's enemy. No matter how many people there are, you will be our common enemy first!"
"That's right!"
A man with long, light blue hair and wearing earrings emerged from the nearby jungle. He landed quickly, adjusted his posture, stood up, and laughed heartily: "So, take it out, buddy."
Behind him, Fegreh, dressed like an admiral, also stepped out, staring at Kuro with a sinister look: "Kid, hand over the stuff, and I'll spare your life!"
On the other side, a gigantic man, over seven meters tall, with skin that was faintly reddish and two horns on his head, walked out and breathed on Kuro.
Beside him, a gaunt man resembling a stick insect chuckled, "Oh dear, did someone beat me to it?"
"Please hand it over, this...pirate."
A voice also rang out from behind Kuro, and Humphrey, who looked like a nobleman, appeared there, bowing to Kuro with his men and smiling, "This is a true siege."
On the opposite side of the cliff, atop a tall tree, 'One-Eyed' Kraf also stood on the trunk, looking at Kuro without uttering a word.
Below, an announcement came over the loudspeaker.
"Oh!! An unexpected situation has occurred. Mr. Gilgamesh has found the most eye-catching small wooden box in the treasure, but he is surrounded by other pirates. What will he do?!"
"Hey, Kuro, let me have a go?" Lida was eager to try.
Kuro was also itching to make a move. There were seven people here, four of whom were great pirates of the recent generation, and three of whom were dangerous beings who appeared on the sixth floor. No matter which one it was, they could all become his touchstone.
Kuro?
The others didn't react much, but Fegreh, a former naval officer, was taken aback. He seemed to have heard that name somewhere recently...
"No time, didn't you sense it? That somewhat agitated aura down there, is he watching too? I'm not going to let you have your way, I'm not going to fight."
Kuro weighed the tattered wooden box in his hand, then tossed it into the air. "Then... you can have it."
As the wooden box was tossed upwards, the seven people were about to come down, but in the next instant, a hand caught the box.
"Let me take a look. I'm a little curious. What if it's a little note with words like 'wisdom' or 'courage'? That would be interesting."
Kuro took the wooden box and opened it directly.
The Pirate King's treasure? Or did Festa obtain it?
What could it be, a treasure map?
Kuro wasn't particularly interested in those things. If it were something like a treasure map, he would just toss it to these people and watch them fight like dogs.
Hey, you, Barrett, want to see me do something? No way, I'm just playing around.
"Hand over the stuff!"
The hot-tempered Taunt Locke couldn't hold back any longer and charged forward, heading straight for Kuro.
"How could I let you go first, you little devil!"
Rhodes, who was next to him, leaped forward like a flying mantis, its limbs outstretched, and pounced towards Kuro.
"Raise your gun."
Humphrey gave the order, and his men behind him raised their guns and aimed them at Kuro.
Austin's twin swords evoke the image of flowing water.
Fegreh moved swiftly, using 'Shave' to rush over.
Macaulay Warner curled up, his body inexplicably covered with a layer of earth-like color, and disappeared from sight.
Hiss...
Claf, perched on the tree trunk, raised his spear, a flash of lightning appearing as he aimed it directly at Kuro.
*Smack!*
In that instant, a fierce killing intent suddenly pressed down, covering the entire island.
Bang!
Tauter Locke, who was the first to rush over, stumbled and almost fell. He stopped there, feeling a shiver run through his body.
He has demon blood!
No matter how strong he is, he should be fearless.
But...why am I shaking!
Austin tried hard to stop his trembling hands and prevent the knife in his hand from moving, but his hands and even his legs trembled uncontrollably, causing the knife in his hand to make a crisp sound.
