A golden light suddenly flashed from the swirling tornado, and Kuro appeared from the wind, spinning his body and slashing down with his long sword. As Barrett was attacking everywhere, he struck him in the neck.

"Huanglong!!"

A gush of blood spurted from that neck. Barrett's eyes hardened, and he leaped upwards, managing to block Luo Gui's blade from being pulled out. He then punched Luo Gui in the chest with his backhand.

"Atomic collapse!!"

Bang!!!

Kuro coughed up a mouthful of blood from the punch and crashed backward, slamming into the ground and creating a large hole.

Barrett fell from mid-air, reaching out to wipe the blood from his neck, when he suddenly froze, his body trembling violently.

puff!!

Suddenly, a large amount of blood gushed from the wounds, turning him into a blood-soaked figure. The blood flowed downwards, staining the ground beneath Barrett's feet red.

Boom!

From the hole, a scarlet figure flew out and crashed into the ground around it.

"Cough cough cough!"

Kuro coughed up several mouthfuls of blood, clutching his chest and grimacing. There was a clear indentation in the center of his sternum, indicating it was cracked, and many of his ribs on both sides were also broken.

That punch wasn't thrown for nothing; its power was enough to injure him. And before that, Kuro had indeed taken a chop from Barrett in order to create an opportunity.

The power of that hand chop came only after it pierced his chest, at which point he activated the illusion of killing intent.

The purpose was to prevent Barrett from reacting in a flash.

The illusion was triggered by the wound created when Barrett's calf was slashed, and the murderous aura that entered his body.

He only managed to gain a slight advantage using this tactic, but he never expected this guy to be so aggressive...

"I got greedy..."

Kuro's face was grim. If he hadn't unleashed the Yellow Dragon at the last moment, but instead had simply retreated, things might have been better.

Without activating the Yellow Dragon, the power of the Instant Prison Azure Dragon Slash wouldn't have been as effective against Barrett. He only unleashed its full power with that final strike.

But that one cut also left him quite badly injured.
