"Welcome Jiang Yuan to the 32nd Special Operations Team of the Altai Defense Zone!"

Jiang Yuan laughed awkwardly from above, while a group of soldiers below applauded wildly.

He needed to serve in the military to obtain a human identity card, so he chose Lin Yu's team. After all, this defense zone was guarded by the 32nd Squad, and he was too lazy to go anywhere else.

"Jiang Yuan, you're a member of the team now. Introduce yourself!" Lin Yu thought highly of Jiang Yuan. After all, Jiang Yuan had escaped from tens of thousands of miles away. He was definitely a real man, a special forces soldier among cultivators.

"My name is Jiang Yuan, I am twenty-eight years old, and my cultivation level is the second stage of the Void Spirit Realm. I hope you brothers will give me your guidance in the future!" Jiang Yuan humbly clasped his hands in a fist salute.

"Hello, Captain!" Jiang Yuan greeted awkwardly, marking his official integration into the team.

"Don't be too reserved. The members of the 32nd Squad get along very well! Our 32nd Squad currently has a total of 14 people, including 11 male soldiers and 3 female soldiers. Let me introduce them to you one by one."

After shaking hands with each of his teammates, Jiang Yuan counted them again and then asked in confusion, "Wait a minute, weren't there supposed to be fourteen people? Even with me, there are only thirteen!"

He took a closer look and realized that one of the female soldiers was missing. As this thought crossed his mind, Jiang Yuan had a bad feeling.

"Reporting, Captain! Medic Gu Anlei reporting!"

Sure enough, this premonition came true; the woman sent to monitor him arrived.

"Come on, let's welcome our team's last member!" Lin Yu led the applause.

Jiang Yuansheng reluctantly joined in the applause.

"Gu Anlei, medic of the 32nd Special Operations Squad, is twenty years old, at the fifth level of the Void Spirit Realm, and currently holds no military rank." Gu Anlei introduced herself somewhat shyly.

"Xiao Gu, you have no idea how much effort Principal Zhang went through to get you transferred here. You'd better work hard in the future!" Lin Yu said admiringly.

"Don't worry, Captain Lin, Gu Anlei will do her best to bring health to everyone!" Gu Anlei was definitely excited to join a regular combat team, because here she could get her graduation certificate faster and start her promotion.

"Today, to celebrate the addition of our new member, your Vice Captain Zhou and I will be on guard duty. The rest of you are free to do whatever you want today. Go have fun, or go find yourselves in love!" Lin Yu said.

"Really? We haven't had a day off in a month!"

"If I have a day of free time, wouldn't that mean I can go back to Tianshan City to see my old flame!"

"You blockhead! You finally get a day off, and instead of playing games, you're thinking about going to see your girlfriend!"

"You single dog, do you even know what love is?"

Everyone else was making plans when they heard about the holiday, except for Jiang Yuan and Gu Anlei.

"Jiang Yuan, what are you doing today?" Gu Anlei nudged Jiang Yuan's arm.

Jiang Yuan sighed and said, "Go to sleep!"

"Why sleep? You're not sick, you don't need that much sleep!" Gu Anlei said.

Jiang Yuan thought about it carefully, and then asked, "By the way, do you know where there are a lot of mines in this area?"

"Thunder?" Gu Anlei pondered for a moment, then said, "That must be the top of Tianshan Mountain in Tianshan City!"

"Is there one nearby?" Jiang Yuan didn't want to run that far. He needed to accumulate energy to improve his cultivation level, and what was blocking his way was the Demonic True Soul!

He would lose control and become demonic whenever he made a move. Now that he's lucky enough to have obtained the Thunder Control, he has to hurry up and stabilize his demonic state.

"There are some nearby, but they only come during thunderstorms. I don't think there will be any thunderstorms in the next few days!" Gu Anlei tilted her head back to look at the sky.

"Does Tianshan City have thunder without needing a thunderstorm?" Jiang Yuan couldn't help but reminisce about the scenes of his past tribulations. That kind of thunder was truly thrilling; it was real lightning shattering the darkness.

“There are definitely lightning strikes in Tianshan City. They strike every day. If you’re unlucky enough to get struck a few times, you might die!” Gu Anlei explained.

"Okay, how do I get to Tianshan City?"

Without delay, Jiang Yuan finalized the plan to go to Tianshan City.

"Are you going to Tianshan City too?" Gu Anlei asked first. "Perfect timing, I'm going to Tianshan City too!"

Jiang Yuan: "..."

He doesn't want to talk. Is that a coincidence? You're kidding, you're just here to spy on me!

"Are you two going to Tianshan City?" Lin Yu, who was just about to leave, suddenly turned around.

"Captain, you're not going too, are you?" Jiang Yuan felt like he was joking.

"No, although there are several squads stationed at the defense line, we can't have all of them leave! I heard you two say you were going to Tianshan City, so I remembered that the guild gave out two tickets to the city assemblies a couple of days ago. We've been going every year and we're not interested anymore. I was wondering if you wanted to go and broaden your horizons!" Lin Yu took out two jade tablets with the mark of a mountain engraved on them.

"Is it an admission ticket for the Tianshan City Tournament?" Gu Anlei asked, her eyes shining.

“That’s right. Although the things inside are quite expensive, there are definitely a lot of good stuff!” Lin Yu nodded.
