"Impossible! I gave the order before that the city gates would be opened once half of the beast tide was wiped out!" Yuwen Xin didn't have time to feel emotional. He carried his fallen comrades and pushed his way forward through the crowd.

Just as he was walking forward, a beastly roar from the city wall startled everyone, followed by a barrage of gunfire.

"The Sky Leopard has gone upstairs!"

Everyone recognized the roar just now; it was the unique Holy Spirit Beast of the beast tide—the Sky-Splitting Leopard. The thirty-meter-high city wall was just a 'low wall' that it could easily climb.

"Gunshots! It's Su Haocang's team!" Yuwen Xin was startled.

Su Haocang is the ruler of Camp Three. Before the cataclysm, he was the head of the most powerful family in Laishan District. After the cataclysm, he seized the opportunity to establish Camp Three, and can be said to be the local emperor of Camp Three.

Before the cataclysm, he and Su Haocang had a good relationship. When he brought the people of Camp Nine to Camp Three, Su Haocang was quite generous, not only giving up some territory but also changing Camp Three to Camp Three-Nine, allowing the two of them to lead separately.

The beast tide approached again from afar, and he walked towards it; he needed an explanation.

"Brother Yuwen, it's been a long time!"

Yuwen Xin heard Su Haocang's voice as soon as he went out; he seemed to have been waiting for Yuwen Xin to appear.

"Brother Su, what do you mean by this?" Yuwen Xin looked up and questioned angrily.

Su Haocang shook his head and sneered. He placed one foot on the edge of the city wall and said calmly, "You are nothing but a stray dog. I took you in only to conquer the South City together someday! But now, I don't need you anymore!"

"What does this mean!" Yuwen Xin's heart sank; he guessed some possibilities.

"I won't hide it from you anymore, Camp 39 has no chance of retreating!" Su Haocang gazed ahead and said slowly, "Camp 39's last escape route—South City—has been completely surrounded by the beast tide. Perhaps, South City will be the first safe zone to be swallowed up by the beast tide!"

"Since Camp 39 has no way out, it doesn't need an ally!"

Su Haocang looked at Yuwen Xin with a cold smile.

“I have no intention of competing with you for the power of Camp 39. My brothers and I from Camp 9 are just looking for a place to settle down. If Brother Su is willing to become the decision-maker of Camp 39, then we will certainly obey Brother Su!” Yuwen Xin said sincerely.

"Do you think I'd believe that? In this world, only the dead are not a threat!" Su Haocang glanced into the distance. "Don't say I didn't give you a chance. If your Ninth Battalion survives this beast tide, then I'll acknowledge your status in the Ninth Battalion!"

"Su Haocang, are you going to open the door or not!" Yuwen Xin finally stopped being submissive and was about to point at Su Haocang and yell at him.

If they can't get in from here, they'll be the first to be hit by the approaching beast tide. This time, there are no explosives to destroy the beast tide; if they face it head-on, they'll only face certain death.

"Break down the door!"

Yuwen Xin quickly turned back. If they couldn't get in now, they would really become cannon fodder. Besides, it was easy to come down the city wall but difficult to come up. They had no choice but to ram the gate.

"Boss Yuwen, what's going on?" someone asked, puzzled.

"We've been used as cannon fodder by that bastard Su Haocang! Now monsters have taken over the city walls too, and he wants us to use our lives to wear down the beast tide's strength!"

Now that things have come to this, Yuwen Xin has no need to hide anything anymore.

Sure enough, gunfire erupted atop the city walls, and the corpses of Sky-Splittering Leopards fell one after another to the base of the walls.

But they had no other choice but to try!

"No, even a ninth-level expert couldn't break through this!" Someone had already given up, and with a death wish, leaned against the wall.

With a loud thud, even the entire city wall shook almost imperceptibly, and at the same time, cries of pain rang out from the city wall.

“It’s an eighth-tier Sky-Splitting Leopard!” Yuwen Xin said calmly. “I’d like to see how Su Haocang will defend the remaining half of the beast tide!”
