"Holy crap! Is this a hyena infestation?!"

Pairs of yellow-green eyes appeared in the night on the grasslands on both sides of the river.

The group, who were resting with the baby dinosaurs and surrounded by adult giraffes, were suddenly awakened by the players on night watch.

The long-necked dinosaur also came to its senses and stood up, letting out a rare, threatening growl as if trying to scare away the uninvited guests.

"Get up quickly and grab your weapons."

Everyone regained consciousness, and except for the player who was guarding the baby dinosaur, the rest of them climbed onto the adult dinosaurs. Soon they saw hyenas surrounding them from all directions.

Countless eyes in the darkness stared straight at them, so many that they couldn't even count them all.

"There must be at least a thousand of them, right?"

"Holy crap, don't fool me! This is outrageous!"

Mingmei gasped, gripping her two bone knives tightly. She looked worriedly at the small dinosaur surrounded in the middle and said anxiously, "These hyenas, taking advantage of their size and agility, even with these wild beasts surrounding them, there are still plenty of gaps underneath them..."

"The people below are in even greater danger."

Everyone thought so too, but after spending so much time together these past few days, the wild beast cubs, though bigger than them, are really cute. So why are they being targeted by these hyenas?

"Besides the cubs, everyone should also be careful."

The players below had formed another circle to protect the cub. The cub in the very center was also mooing loudly. The adult dinosaurs on the outermost circle, seeing the hyenas coming at them with a punch, let out threatening growls from their noses. They even stomped on the hyena that was leading the charge and crushed it into a pulp.

With just a lift of a foot, the hyenas from all directions moved instantly. Those that got stepped on were considered unlucky, while those that didn't get stepped on simply rushed into the gap between the dinosaur's legs!

With a slash of a bone knife, Hugoor cleaved a charging hyena in two!

The others reacted just as quickly, taking action the moment the hyenas charged in!

Some were impaled in the body by a bone spear and pinned to the ground, while others were hacked to pieces by bone knives, leaving them covered in blood.

"Lu Xiaoyao?!"

As Mingmei and the others stood on the adult dinosaur, they realized that the gap in their lower body was too large. The adult long-necked dinosaur immediately changed its formation, and the protective circle contracted.

The seven adult dinosaurs instantly lay down on the ground, sealing off the gaps below, while the other three circled around and started stomping wildly!

But this did not stop the hyenas' madness. As more and more hyenas appeared in the darkness, they tried to jump onto the backs of the dinosaurs lying on the ground, or even bite off a single person from the backs of the dinosaurs!

Mingmei shouted at Lu Xiaoyao and immediately raised her hand, wielding her twin swords to cut the hyena that was trying to ambush Lu Xiaoyao in two.

Lu Xiaoyao, who was pulling the player who had just fallen away, suddenly heard Mingmei's shout. She turned around and was instantly drenched in blood by the splattering blood.

"hurry up!"

Mingmei slew two wild dogs that pounced on her, but when she saw Lu Xiaoyao still squatting there pulling people away, she immediately urged her to hurry up.

"Mmm!"

After agreeing, Lu Xiaoyao didn't even have time to wipe the blood off her face before she took a deep breath and pulled the two of them up.

Wang Wenfei and Merita were there; Merita, who had been pulled up, still had blood on her long knife.

Just as the two of them fell below, hyenas tried to rush up and bite them, but Merita killed several hyenas while Wang Wenfei was holding one of her hands.

Because of the sudden movement, it was already a miracle that Lu Xiaoyao didn't let go, let alone pull them up, which caused the delay.

After saying this, Merita breathed a sigh of relief. The awkwardness she felt earlier from being dominated by Lu Xiaoyao had finally disappeared during their time playing the game.

I feel that interacting with others on an equal footing is actually quite nice.

“That’s right~” Not noticing the implication in Merita’s words, Lu Xiaoyao smugly picked up the bone knife and added, “I’m still pretty strong!”

Before Zhen Hu could react, a hyena suddenly pounced on his arm and bit him. Before the hyena could even tighten its jaws, the dinosaur cub turned its head and grabbed the hyena by the tail, pulling it away. However, the hyena's sharp teeth still managed to cut Zhen Hu's arm.

The longer the battle lasted, the stronger the stench of blood became. Eventually, in the latter half of the night, the piles of hyena carcasses scared away the last wave of hyenas.

When they arrived, there were hundreds or thousands of them, and when they left, there were still about a hundred of them, but their imposing presence was nowhere near what it had when they first arrived.

Watching the hyenas slink away dejectedly with their tails between their legs, the group, who had been fighting for most of the night, suddenly let out a howl as if releasing their last breath!

"Aaaaaah—!"

Tonight was truly a brush with death!

If it weren't for these dinosaurs, Mingmei and her group of people would probably have been wiped out during their migration.

Similarly, without the bright sunshine, there probably wouldn't be many of these dinosaur cubs left.

As dawn approached, the dinosaurs went to the river to drink and eat again. Mingmei and the others also moved to a clean place to rest and recuperate. They treated their wounds as needed. Mu Chen had prepared a lot of herbs before winter, but he didn't expect to use up a third of them tonight.

"Mu Chen, um... could I have some of this herb?"

Just as Mu Chen was applying medicine to Mingmei, Zhen Po came up to him and asked for a lot more herbs.
