Chapter 749 Multifaceted

The Second Legion guards the star field.

"My God, Youyou, are you really alright?"

Yun An'an, a third-year medical student, was assigned to the Second Legion last year. Unexpectedly, she met her first and second-year juniors this year.

The school's restructuring came suddenly, and she would often chat with her classmates, lamenting how old she was.

Unexpectedly, so many things have happened in the past two days. Leng Youyou, who was her college roommate, was actually at the scene on Qilan Star.

"Thankfully, the most dangerous time has passed."

Leng Youyou's clothes were wrinkled, and her long hair, which had been neatly combed into a sterile cap, was now loose.

Seeing her like this, Yun An'an knew that she must have been extremely busy before. The fact that she was able to chat with her now meant that the busiest time was indeed over.

While drinking water to replenish her energy, Leng Youyou looked at the other end of the video call and noticed that Yun An'an's background was different from usual.

"Aren't you at the medical center?"

"Ah, I temporarily joined a group of dispatched medical personnel as a military doctor on a starship."

As she spoke, Yun An'an walked to the window and showed Leng Youyou where she was. The starry sky outside was so beautiful that it was hard to look away.

Oh, the splendor of the Imperial Central Region!

Leng Youyou couldn't help but admire the scenery there, and then subconsciously looked up at the sky above Qilan Star. Originally, there was also a stunning aurora night view here, but now the sky is still full of post-war smoke and dust particles. It is unknown how long it will take to return to what it was before.

"That was really dangerous for you guys this time~" Yun An'an seemed to still hear the noisy background noise from Leng Youyou's side, and couldn't help but sigh.

"The atmosphere in the legion suddenly became tense a couple of days ago. I thought we were going to fight here too, but it didn't happen."

As a military doctor, Yun An'an didn't receive as much information as the combat personnel, but she still had her intuition.

"Um... how many people are there providing support from your side?"

"What do you think?" Leng Youyou finished her water and finally had time to fix her hair. As she did so, she said, "People from the Third, Fourth, and Fifth Legions are coming."

"Ah...oh."

Yun An'an felt a little embarrassed. Although she had nothing to do with this, as a member of the Second Legion, she felt somewhat awkward about hearing about it.

"It's good that everyone is safe and sound. So, is Wenye alright? Wasn't he with you when you went to the Sixth Legion?"

Wen Ye is Leng Youyou's boyfriend, who is a year younger than her. He is a very handsome and cute young man. However, Yun An'an was still surprised to learn that Leng Youyou, such a mature and beautiful woman, had found such a "young boyfriend".

"You've survived." The cold, detached tone carried a suppressed anger beneath its calm surface. "Things will get better from now on. Thank goodness you're alive..."

"Okay, I'm busy now, I'll hang up first." Whether she was really busy or she had touched a sore spot, Yun An'an felt empty and a little helpless after being abruptly hung up on during the video call.

It seemed that the truth wasn't as simple as Leng Youyou had made it out to be. Yun An'an shifted her gaze to the window, intending to calm herself down, when the starship suddenly sent out a warning.

What happened?

She went out and stopped a soldier who wasn't wearing combat uniform. The soldier looked at Yun An'an and said, "An unknown force is approaching the wormhole."

"Hmm? Unknown forces?"

This word left Yun An'an completely bewildered.

Just as she was wondering, the starship suddenly shook. She immediately grabbed the wall and followed the soldier beside her to the door of the command room. Although there was a security gate that prevented her from entering, she was still stunned to see a battle starship a full size larger than theirs appearing outside the panoramic window of the command room through the transparent door.

"Which legion is this?"

Yun An'an didn't think that the starship in front of her, which was even larger than their own, was some kind of space pirate coming here to court death. Judging by its size, it looked like a warship from another legion.

I just don't know who it is.

From her perspective, she couldn't see it, but the people in the command room weren't stupid; they couldn't possibly miss the huge insignia of the Fifth Army.

So, stopping them for questioning was inevitable, but the other party showed no sign of stopping, and preemptively asked before they could even ask, "You! Did you see a firefly run past?"

"What!!!?"

What did you say?

"Firefly! The sun might have already run away!"

Hearing the opposing starship's commander spewing profanities, the Second Legion's members gradually went from being stunned to filled with terror.

"Holy crap!! How could there be fireflies!?"

"Just now, Major General Hu led reinforcements and we were going to provide support when a huge firefly suddenly flew away right in front of us. We chased after it all the way..."

Get to the point!

The commander of the Second Legion stationed at the wormhole thought this commander from the Fifth Legion was a bit of an idiot.

"Ah. We didn't catch up, not even now."

Second Army Corps Commander: ? ? ?

What the hell?

"That firefly is incredibly powerful. It knows all the wormholes in the Empire, which I don't even recognize!"

Hearing the exaggerated tone of the person on the other end, the commanders of the Second Legion looked at each other, their eyes filled with helplessness and shock!

“No, such a crucial arrest is being entrusted to this…” A deputy commander turned off his microphone, his eyes filled with complex emotions, and said, “Aren’t you afraid this unreliable person will mess things up?”

"It's not a matter of messing things up or not. If what they say is true, and Firefly has escaped..." The commander no longer had the leisure to consider the intelligence level of the opposing commander or the skill level of the opposing side.
