In the future, Earth is no longer habitable due to thermonuclear war, world-ending earthquakes, tectonic plate shifts, species extinction, and psionic awakenings...
Qin Che, an ordinary perso...
Upon entering the ice cave, everything suddenly went dark.
Qin Che held Xiao Shitou's hand, protecting her behind him, and sensed the movements ahead.
As the temperature gradually rose, the two ventured deeper into the ice cave and saw a colossal creature rising and falling in the darkness.
It was a giant ice bear breathing.
Several bear cubs were sleeping soundly beside it.
Fortunately, there was still a faint light in the cave, otherwise the two of them would not have been able to see this enormous creature at all.
It's so big that you might mistake it for a small rocky hill if you don't look closely.
The sound of breathing echoed through the cave with each exhale.
Qin Che wasn't particularly afraid, but rather very curious that there could be life in such a place. Little Stone had said there was another door behind it, so could these bears be the creatures inside that door?
He led the little stone around the bear's den, through the narrow passage of the cave, and then suddenly the space in front of him opened up.
A spacious stone hall appeared before Qin Che's eyes.
"This is……"
Qin Che frowned: "I didn't expect there to be such a world here."
Rays of sunlight emanated from the door, resembling some kind of Tyndall effect.
The temperature inside the stone hall was much higher than outside, which caused Qin Che and Xiao Shitou's high-tech spacesuits to adjust to the temperature, allowing their bodies to adapt instantly.
“Master…it doesn’t seem dangerous inside,” Little Stone said.
Qin Che nodded, and the two approached the gate, a stone gate that was half-open, and warm air was drifting out from the world inside.
Surrounded by glaciers and sheer cliffs, it was unexpected that there was another world hidden in this underground cave.
Qin Che walked around the stone gate and pulled Xiao Shitou inside.
What appears before you are ancient, enormous shrub leaves, large and broad, as green as ever, with purple veins in the center of the leaves, and small insects slowly crawling on them.
Qin Che was deeply shocked. He and Xiao Shitou pushed aside the bushes with the backs of their hands and entered a forest.
A massive cliff appeared before them, forming a stunning waterfall; this was an ecological park!
Qin Che looked up and saw that there was no sun, but rather some kind of solar-powered light. The place was definitely not large, but it was warm as springtime.
"Sir, is this an ecological park?" Little Stone had seen places like this before.
Isn't Lingbi No. 10 Wall an ecological park?
However, that was the old world, while this is an ancient ecological park with a more complex ecosystem, containing many plants and even arable land.
Qin Che looked ahead and followed the river downstream, where patches of farmland appeared on both sides of the riverbank.
These arable lands are not large in area, but they can be stacked up like hydroponics, constructed from frames made of some kind of material.
But there were no crops in the soil.
The river teems with fish and shrimp, and the sound of the current is deafening. On the opposite bank lies a dense forest, where man-made structures can be faintly seen.
They were semi-circular white tents made of metal and steel, with the curtains rolled up, revealing what was inside.
Qin Che and his companion took a stroll around the ecological park and were extremely surprised.
"I never imagined there would be such a place beneath this glacier..."
Qin Che frowned. Despite this, he did not believe it was a relic of the First Empire. Instead, he felt it was something created by ancient sages.
Their spacesuits and the remnants of the spacecraft they had previously discovered all felt similar to these man-made tents.
The tents contain computers, tables, and beds, with carpets on the floor, and some large tents even have fireplaces.
This place was probably previously the encampment of a small team.
"Master, look!"
The little stone pointed to a spot, and Qin Che saw flowing ancient texts on the computer screen that was off.
Now he's sure.
This is an outpost built by our ancestors.
Or perhaps... they were also trapped in this glacier.
Qin Che remained silent for a long time, trying to write down these words, but they vanished in a flash. After the screen went out, the computer lit up, revealing the information on the screen.
"It looks like surveillance?"
Qin Che frowned and looked around. The computer screen was divided into several parts, each of which was a surveillance camera in a corner of the ecological park.
It seems that they are still working here; they haven't stopped.
Maybe there are still people?
Qin Che quickly sensed the area, and no, he was certain that there were no humans here, because no matter how many details they investigated inside the tent, they found no trace of human life.
"Master, why did the creations of the ancients appear here?" Little Stone asked, full of doubt.
"They're all gone, but they left behind this outpost. Where did they go?" Qin Che analyzed.
Little Stone said, "Could it be that they all climbed up the cliff?"
Qin Che looked at her.
“Sir, there is danger on the cliff. These people may never have returned, which is why they left this outpost. Judging from the traces left here, they must have been gone for a long time and never came back.”
Qin Che sighed.
Little Stone's words make sense.
There are sheer cliffs on all sides, making it impossible to get out.
He and Little Stone had tried for more than ten days to walk along the cliff, but they all failed.
This place is surrounded by sheer cliffs, and the space is chaotic.
The fact that the ancients built an outpost here indicates that they did not recklessly climb up from here, but rather investigated at the foot of the cliff for some time, trying to find an exit.
Eventually, their food and resources were exhausted, so they had no choice but to take a gamble and climb the cliff to find a way out.
