Seeing Cheng Qicai humming a song as she entered, Gu Rongqi pulled out a chair and walked towards her.

Gu Rongqi smiled and looked at her, asking, "So happy? Did you talk things out with your parents?"

Cheng Qicai wasn't surprised that he knew about her trip with her parents; almost every employee there was his informant.

Every time she went out to do something, they would tell Gu Rongqi.

Cheng Qicai nodded emphatically, "To be honest, it's nothing much. It's just that my parents are worried that I might not be able to withstand the setbacks if I start my own business. There's something else I haven't discussed with them."

Speaking of this, when she first started her business, she was just as worried and fearful as Ms. Yun and the others.

So I guess she can understand.

Gu Rong nodded. "That's good."

Just as Cheng Qicai was about to say something else, a shop assistant's voice rang out from not far away, calling her over, "Qicai, there's a problem with the machine here, come and take a look."

"Okay." She agreed to the other side, and then said to Gu Rongqi, "I'll go take a look over there first."

She walked over to the machine to look at the problem, and the two of them looked at it but couldn't figure out the cause.

Cheng Qicai then called the repairman, explained the situation, and followed the repairman's instructions to restore the machine to normal.

After she finished her task, she turned around and went back to the cashier, where she saw Gu Rongqi putting the items a female customer had won into a gift bag.

Sensing something was amiss, she stopped a short distance away, just enough to hear and see what was happening.

The girl looked shy and asked in a soft voice, "Little brother, can I add a moon symbol?"

“I’m sorry, this won’t do,” Gu Rongqi said, looking at the girl over her shoulder. “I’m here to help because I’m pursuing the owner of this shop.”

"Oh, I see. Well, I'm sorry." The girl followed her gaze and saw Cheng Qicai behind her.

She immediately turned around, hurriedly apologized to Gu Rongqi, and then quickly took the bag Gu Rongqi handed her and left.

Watching the customer blush and walk away, Cheng Qicai went over to Gu Rongqi and asked, "Oh dear, why did you refuse?"

That sounded a bit sarcastic.

"Didn't you hear the reason?" Gu Rongqi looked at her with a smile and repeated, "I said it's because of you."

Cheng Qicai felt uncomfortable with his blunt words; she had originally intended to tease him a little.

She scratched her face and changed the subject, saying, "Why are you the one bagging them?"

“It’s not that I’m being lazy, Qi Cai. That customer was here before and saw that Gu Rongqi had helped out here before, so I specifically asked him to come.” The cashier, Li Wu, immediately said to Cheng Qi Cai, “I didn’t expect her to want Gu Rongqi’s Moon.”

Cheng Qicai looked at Gu Rongqi and said, "You can refuse."

"Yes, I declined," Gu Rongqi said to her with a smile.

Cheng Qicai was a little exasperated by his deliberate twistation of his words. "I didn't mean 'refuse,' I meant 'I can refuse this favor.' Xiao Li and the others are in the shop now, so they won't be too busy."

"Okay, I will next time." Gu Rong nodded, but seeing that she still looked a little annoyed, he changed the subject, "I took Golden Bean to the pet store in the mall across the street for a bath, can you come with me to take a look?"

Cheng Qicai hesitated.

Li Wu glanced at the two of them and said, "Seven Colors, you go ahead. We'll take care of things here. We'll call you if there are any problems."

"Okay!" Cheng Qicai thought about it and realized that after such a long period of operation, there really weren't any major problems in the end.

She and Gu Rongqi walked out of the store.

On the way, Cheng Qicai wondered why everyone in her shop was helping Gu Rongqi. Although he always treated them to food whenever they came, it wasn't right for him to betray her like this. Even though they were all the same age, she was, after all, the boss...

Thinking of this, Cheng Qicai said with some dissatisfaction, "It's all because of you. You're always so nice to them every time you come. Now everyone in the store is biased towards you."

Seeing Cheng Qicai's resentful look, Gu Rongqi smiled and said, "I think as a suitor, it's essential to know how to please the people around you and be attentive to their needs."

Cheng Qicai was speechless after hearing his words.

How did this become a scheme?

After a long pause, she blushed slightly and stammered, "I didn't ask you to be my suitor!"

“Yes, it’s all voluntary.” Gu Rongqi nodded without changing his expression. “Whether it was shamelessly pestering you after you rejected me or helping you with your work, it was all done willingly.”

Cheng Qicai's pupils contracted in shock at the content of his words. No, what kind of indecent words were he saying?

It feels like he's portraying himself as a "concubine," with a sense of inferiority lingering in his words.

A serious expression appeared on his face. Cheng Qicai lowered her eyelashes and hesitated before speaking, "It's... not as bad as you say..."

Gu Rongqi saw her struggling to find the right words, a smile flashed in his eyes, and the corners of his mouth turned up slightly.

As Cheng Qicai spoke, she kept an eye on his expression, and when she saw his serious expression suddenly turn into a smile.

She began to suspect that Gu Rongqi was doing this on purpose.

She wondered, and so she blurted out, "Are you kidding me?"

“No,” Gu Rongqi looked into her eyes, his eyes shining with determination, “I’m serious! But I also know why you don’t accept me.”

The following sentence was spoken with a heavy tone: "But I can wait patiently until you find someone you truly like."

I won't let go either. This was a sentence he secretly added in his heart. He could even say that he wouldn't let Cheng Qicai have the chance to fall in love with someone else.
