He bent down to pick up the hawthorn strips on the table and ate them. Out of the corner of his eye, he suddenly saw the card in the flower.

The large red characters above directly assaulted his eyes.

His hand then reached for the card in the flower arrangement, and he read aloud its contents word by word, "I'm sorry, it was all just now..."

Cheng Qicai was looking at her phone when she heard Gu Liji reading something that sounded strangely familiar.

She looked up at Gu Liji and saw that he was holding the apology card she had written to Gu Rongqi. She was terrified and dropped her phone to snatch the card from Gu Liji's hand.

Seeing Cheng Qicai trying to snatch it, Gu Liji immediately stood up warily, holding the card high. He said sarcastically, "Tsk tsk tsk, I didn't expect that! Cheng Qicai, you can write such cheesy things..."

"Give it to me!" Cheng Qicai blushed with embarrassment and jumped up to reach for the card in Gu Rongqi's hand.

"Haha, no way! I'm going to take a picture of it later!" Gu Liji looked at her with a wicked grin.

His expression was as cheeky as one of those elementary school boys who like to pull girls' hair.

Cheng Qicai tried to grab Gu Liji's hand, but Gu Liji blocked her and backed away. Cheng Qicai hurriedly chased after him.

She didn't expect anyone else to see it when she wrote it!

If Gu Liji were to film this, it would be an absolute disaster!

Thinking of this, Cheng Qicai became even more anxious. But Gu Liji was taller than her, making it difficult for her to get it from him…

Gu Liji thought that he had known all along that Cheng Qicai was a tattletale who would tell his brother everything because he had his brother backing her up.

Cheng Qicai thought to herself, "It's all Gu Liji's fault. Why did he have to be so stupid?"

Therefore, the two of them disliked each other.

Upon hearing Gu Rongqi's voice, both of them turned their gazes to him.

Seeing Gu Rongqi's smelly expression, Cheng Qicai jogged after him into the kitchen.

Gu Liji watched from behind, and scoffed inwardly, "Sycophant!"

Cheng Qicai could tell from his expressionless face that he was angry again.

She approached him ingratiatingly, "Gu Rongqi, is there anything I can help you with?"

"No." Gu Rongqi continued chopping the vegetables in his hands, not even glancing at her.

When she encountered a cold shoulder, Cheng Qicai did not give up. "Isn't it boring when you're chopping vegetables? I can chat with you."

"Need not."

Cheng Qicai paused, then cursed Gu Liji in her heart once more.

"Are you angry?" Cheng Qicai asked knowingly.

"..." This time, Gu Rongqi did glance at her.

Even when he pointed out the problem directly, Gu Rongqi still wouldn't calm down or say anything.

Seeing Gu Rongqi's indifferent attitude towards her, she didn't know what to do for a moment.

She only turned around when Gu Rongqi turned around, and she also went to get the bowl when Gu Rongqi went to get the bowl.

Seeing her following him like a little chick, Gu Rongqi sighed, "Alright, go play outside."

"Okay, I'm going to cook now. Go out and have some fun." He smiled and let go of her.

Gu Liji watched her come out, his teasing eyes darting around her face.

Cheng Qicai felt uneasy under his gaze, and she glared back angrily, "What are you looking at!"

"Heh..." Gu Liji gave a cold laugh for no apparent reason.
