Grubber's emotions are different from Qianzhi's before. If Qianzhi's dissatisfaction with Cheng Qicai was hidden, then Grubber's dissatisfaction is outward.

She hadn't really felt Qianzhi's dissatisfaction when she heard Gu Rongqi say that she had already agreed, so she didn't feel anything in her heart.

As soon as Gu Lubo said this, Cheng Qicai immediately realized that he was targeting her.

But he was an elder, so Cheng Qicai couldn't say anything.

Fortunately, Cheng Qicai is best at letting things go in one ear and out the other.

After all, she had been through all sorts of tricks from Ms. Yun, and had long since developed an impenetrable defense.

Gu Rongqi explained casually, "Dad, Qicai doesn't like apples, and she can't finish one, so I shared one with her."

Gulubo choked, swallowing the words he was about to say along with the apple in his mouth.

After quickly finishing the fruit, he threw the pit into the trash can, lay down on the bed, and closed his eyes.

The furrowed brows were hard to tell whether it was from physical pain or from not wanting to see Gu Rongqi and Cheng Qicai.

After Qianzhi went out to answer a phone call, she came back and said to the two of them, "Rongqi, I have some things to take care of at the company, so I'll go there first. You two stay here and keep your dad company."

Gu Rongqi frowned as he glanced at Gu Lubo on the bed, then looked at Cheng Qicai.

There was a question in his eyes.

Cheng Qicai wouldn't refuse such a small request, so she nodded slightly, "Okay, Auntie, we'll stay here with Uncle. You can go ahead and do what you need to do."

"This is troublesome," Qianzhi said before leaving.

Gu Rongqi leaned close to Cheng Qicai's ear and whispered, "Are you alright? Do you want me to take you home?"

She had just agreed to accompany Gu Lubo to Qianzhi's place, and then Gu Rongqi said he would take her back.

This makes her seem hypocritical! And it's quite impolite of her to just walk away like that.

Cheng Qicai shook her head, "No need, it's fine for me to stay here with Uncle."

Are you hungry?

Upon receiving news of Gu Lubo's injury, the two immediately set off, so Cheng Qicai hadn't eaten much breakfast yet.

I'm not hungry.

"If I get hungry, I'll call the restaurant and have them deliver it to me."

Cheng Qicai said helplessly, "I'm really not hungry. Didn't I eat a piece of bread on the way here?"

"Then let's have breakfast for lunch later..."

"Rong Qi, get me a glass of water." Gu Lubo had opened his eyes at some point and was looking at the two of them.

The hill between his eyebrows also appeared higher.

Gu Rong got up and poured him a glass of water. "Dad, when is Uncle Wu coming?"

Gu Lubo's tone was harsh, and his words sounded sarcastic. "What? You're so patient with others, but not with me?"

"No." Gu Rongqi took the water glass from his hand. "I just think if you don't like us, we should stay away from you and avoid getting in your way."

He glared at Gu Rongqi in front of him, then glared at Cheng Qicai sitting on the sofa.

Cheng Qicai felt like she was being unfairly targeted just by sitting on the sofa. She hadn't done anything, yet she was glared at.

She touched her face, wondering if she was really that hateful.

It shouldn't be that bad, right? She remembered that people described her as someone who seemed honest and straightforward.

Gu Rong sat back on the sofa and said to Cheng Qicai, "We'll go back when Uncle Wu comes."

Cheng Qicai dared not nod, and she secretly glanced at Gu Lubo's expression.

I saw him leaning against the headboard with a sour face.

Cheng Qicai was in a dilemma; she felt like cannon fodder, caught between the father and son.

She said, "Anyway, we don't have anything to do when we go back. Staying here with Uncle will make things more lively. Besides, Uncle hasn't seen you in a long time, and he must miss you."

She remembered that the last time Gu Rongqi went back was for Gu Lubo's birthday party.

Gu Rongqi understood what she meant. He smiled and said softly, "Are you sleepy? If you are, there are guest rooms next door. You can go and take a nap there."

Cheng Qicai shook her head, "Not sleepy."

"Want to watch TV? There's a TV outside..."

Gu Lubo was even more dissatisfied, wondering who was actually hospitalized in this ward.

Seeing the two of them chatting as if no one else was around, Gu Lubo interrupted again, "Rong Qi, turn on the TV for me."

Gu Rongqi looked at him, silently turned on the TV opposite his bed, and thoughtfully tuned it to the news channel he often watched.

After watching for a few minutes, Gu Lubo commented on the news content, "Look, this news says that the country is now providing strong support..."

Gu Lubo's words were not directed at anyone; it was unclear whether he was speaking to Cheng Qicai or Gu Rongqi.

Cheng Qicai didn't think this was being said to her. With her lack of knowledge, even if she were asked, she wouldn't be able to give a proper answer.

Therefore, the only person he could ask was Gu Rongqi.

Gu Rongqi readily accepted Gu Lubo's words and shared his own insights on the news.

Gu Lubo nodded in satisfaction upon hearing Gu Rongqi's unique analysis.

Cheng Qicai watched the two of them exchanging words on the TV news, and her head was about to explode.

Seeing that the two weren't paying attention to her, she took out her phone, put on her headphones, and started watching a movie by herself.

Until the door was knocked on by a middle-aged man who looked to be about the same age as Grubber.

He had a refined and scholarly air about him, his hair was neatly combed, and his clothes were impeccably dressed. He smiled when he saw Gu Rongqi and said, "Rongqi."
