Side Story 2: A Mistake (Part 2)

After some time, they went to Qianzhi's house for dinner, and Cheng Qicai felt that Qianzhi seemed preoccupied all day.

After dinner, Gu Rongqi was called to the study by Gu Lubo for a talk, while Cheng Qicai and Qianzhi sat in the living room.

Cheng Qicai asked hesitantly, "Auntie, what's wrong with you today? You seem to be in a bad mood. Did something happen?"

"Nothing." Qianzhi didn't answer, but instead asked her, "I've noticed Rongqi isn't acting right lately, and you two didn't look too good when you came today either. Did you have a fight?"

"No..." Cheng Qicai stubbornly insisted.

They weren't really arguing, but recently she'd become obsessed with a game, and when she played, she'd easily lose track of time. And when she lost track of time, she'd easily neglect people, and when she neglected people, Gu Rongqi started to get upset.

Especially after returning the day before yesterday, Gu Rongqi found Cheng Qicai playing games in the computer room.

She was passionately cooperating with her teammates on voice chat when Gu Rongqi walked over and knocked on her desk. Cheng Qicai saw that they were still just running through the map, so she took off her headphones and said to Gu Rongqi, "You're back."

As usual, she stood up and quickly kissed him on the cheek, then quickly sat down and put her headphones on, saying as she did so, "If you're sleepy, you can go to sleep first, I'll play a little longer."

Gu Rongqi felt a barely perceptible kiss on the side of his face, which he didn't even consider a kiss, but rather a touch. His brows furrowed tightly.

All I could hear were her laughing and joking with the men and women on the computer.

This has been the case for the past few days; Cheng Qicai's attitude towards him can be described as ignoring the emergence of this game.

As soon as Cheng Qicai sat down, she received a teleportation invitation from her teammates, and she immediately started a new round of fighting the BOSS.

After defeating this boss, her teammates invited her to fight the next one. Just as she was about to agree, Gu Rongqi snatched her headphones away.

"It's time to rest."

"You haven't gone to sleep yet?" She was surprised to see Gu Rongqi next to her.

"Waiting for you." Gu Rongqi's expression was somewhat somber.

Cheng Qicai's attention was entirely focused on the chat box with her teammate, who was asking her, "Where are you?"

"Don't wait for me," she said, reaching for the earphones in Gu Rongqi's hand without realizing it. "I'll play for a little while longer and then go to sleep."

How long will it take?

"Wait until we finish defeating this boss?"

Her tone was uncertain, and Gu Rong looked down at her condescendingly, "Stop playing around, go to sleep."

Gu Rongqi bent down, grabbed the mouse, and exited her game before shutting down the computer.

"No, I haven't talked to my teammates yet..."

Cheng Qicai stared angrily at the shut-down computer, then glared at Gu Rongqi. Their eyes met, and she saw Gu Rongqi's deep, cold eyes.

She belatedly realized that Gu Rongqi was angry, so she immediately changed her expression, reached out and hugged his arm, and said in a coquettish tone, "I'm sorry, don't be angry anymore. I promise I won't play for so long next time."

"From now on, you can only play for one hour every night."

"One hour?!" Cheng Qicai's world collapsed. She exclaimed in shock, "What can you do in one hour? It would take at least three or four hours."

"Just one hour," Gu Rongqi said coldly. "I'll have Uncle Wang remember the time for you tomorrow."

"I don't want to," Cheng Qicai said, annoyed by his domineering tone. "I can play as long as I want."

Cheng Qicai reached out to touch the power button on the computer, wanting to turn it back on.

Halfway through her reach, her hand was grasped, and Gu Rongqi pulled her back into the room.

Cheng Qicai struggled, "Let go of me! How can you be like this?"

Gu Rongqi put his arm around her shoulder and said, "Listen to me, it's already 10:30."

"That perfectly normal young man goes to bed at 10:30?" she questioned. She used to be a pro at staying up all night, but she only developed the habit of going to bed early and waking up late after meeting Gu Rongqi.

She was pulled to the bed by Gu Rongqi, still looking angry.

Gu Rongqi tried to hug her, but she shook off his hand, distanced herself from him, and turned her back to him.

"Alright, I'll let you play for two hours tonight." Gu Rongqi looked at her stubborn back of the head and sighed slightly.

Cheng Qicai thought to herself, two hours is not enough at all! It's only enough to do some daily tasks and collect materials.

She answered firmly, "No."

Gu Rongqi stared at the back of her head for a while, then moved closer to her and spoke again: "I'm sorry, I've been too busy lately, so I hope you can spend more time with me."

Cheng Qicai's stubborn temper was immediately broken by his words. Thinking that she had been engrossed in the game these past few nights and had spent very little time chatting with him, her guilt grew even stronger.

She turned around, hugged him, and apologized.

"How about we use the time I return as the dividing line for the next game session?"

“Okay.” Cheng Qicai thought for a moment. Gu Rongqi usually came back after 10 o’clock, sometimes 11 o’clock, which was about the time she wanted to play.

Moreover, Gu Rongqi has already said that playing less is also acceptable.

She felt as guilty as she did then, and she was just as angry later on, because Gu Rong got up at five o'clock the next day, which meant that she didn't have any time to play at all that night, and at worst, she didn't even have an hour to play.

Who could be more cunning than him? So, realizing she had been deceived, Cheng Qicai covered her ears and refused to listen to anything Gu Rongqi said that night.

Even when she arrived at Qianzhi's place this morning, she was still arguing with Gu Rongqi.

Of course, Qianzhi didn't know that, looking at Cheng Qicai's hypocritical words, she had initially disbelieved the company's rumors, but now she believed them to some extent.
