Qin Xiao had just transmigrated into the body of a cannon-fodder villain who wouldn’t survive past three chapters, only to be confronted by the domineering Dragon King Ye Chen, who held nine engage...
Ye Chen collapsed to the ground, his body like a tattered sack, each convulsion accompanied by dark red blood foam gushing from his mouth.
The excruciating pain emanating from his dantian nearly tore his mind apart. His internal energy surged wildly like a runaway horse, threatening to rupture his meridians inch by inch.
He is Ye Chen, the young master of the Dragon King Palace, the one destined by fate.
How could we possibly lose to a piece of trash like Qin Xiao?
Intense humiliation and murderous intent intertwined in his unfocused pupils. He struggled to get up, wanting to tear the man who had brought him such humiliation to pieces.
A cold handcuff clicked, locking his wrist.
Several uniformed figures quickly stepped forward and swiftly pinned Ye Chen, who was trying to resist, to the ground.
The piercing sound of police sirens grew louder as they approached, and the alternating red and blue flashing lights shone through the broken windows of the bar, casting an eerie glow on the dance floor.
The crowd automatically parted to form a path.
The wailing of sirens, growing louder as they approached, pierced the deathly silence of the bar. Red and blue lights flashed intermittently, illuminating the ravaged dance floor through the broken windows and billowing smoke, transforming it into a scene of carnage. The once boisterous crowd fell silent, instinctively parting to the sides to make way.
Footsteps sounded, unhurried and rhythmic. A figure walked in against the light, instantly capturing everyone's attention.
The newcomer was dressed in a crisp police uniform, the epaulets gleaming slightly under the lights. Even the standard uniform couldn't completely conceal her striking figure, especially her ample bosom, which rose and fell gently with her steps. She wasn't wearing a police cap, and her neat short hair accentuated her imposing, masculine features. Her eyes, sharp as an eagle's, quickly swept across the scene, pausing for a moment on Ye Chen, who was curled up and convulsing on the ground, his face unrecognizable, before turning to Qin Xiao, who was leaning against the bar, also covered in bruises but barely able to sit.
"Police." Her voice was clear and cold, not loud, but with an undeniable penetrating power. "We received a report that there was a group fight here, which is a serious offense."
She didn't rush to pull out her identification; her uniform and powerful aura were the best proof. Several officers behind her quickly stepped forward and swiftly subdued Ye Chen, who was still struggling on the ground. The cold handcuffs clicked shut, definitively declaring the once arrogant young master of the Dragon King's household as a prisoner. Ye Chen let out a beast-like growl, his bloodshot eyes fixed on Qin Xiao, the resentment in his gaze almost tangible.
The policewoman's gaze finally settled on Qin Xiao. "You, and him," she said, pointing to Ye Chen who was being handcuffed, "come back to the station with me to explain the situation."
Qin Xiao took a deep breath, the sharp pain in his chest making him pause. He raised his blood-stained hand and gestured. "Officer, please wait a moment."
He ignored the policewoman's scrutinizing gaze, and, leaning against the bar, shakily stood up. With each movement, every bone in his body seemed to protest. He moved slowly, step by step, towards the figure curled up on the sofa in the corner, still unconscious—Gu Siqing.
With a slight twitch of his fingertips, an extremely faint, almost imperceptible internal force slowly condensed. This was a minor effect from the [Savior of the World] skill he had just acquired from the system; it was better than nothing, but it was perfect for the moment. He held his breath, enduring the dizziness brought on by his injuries, and precisely pressed on several acupoints on Gu Siqing's neck and shoulder. The movements appeared gentle, but in reality, they consumed almost all of his remaining energy.
After doing all this, he finally breathed a sigh of relief, feeling a little dizzy.
Gu Siqing's long eyelashes trembled violently a few times on the sofa, as if struggling to surface from deep water. She slowly opened her eyes, her gaze initially blank and empty, hazy with the lingering effects of the medication. Light pierced her pupils, and she blinked uncomfortably, her gaze wandering aimlessly before finally settling on Qin Xiao's face standing in front of her.
His face was a mixture of blue and purple, with glaring bloodstains still visible at the corner of his mouth. His clothes were tattered and torn, and there wasn't a single spot on his body that looked good. He looked as disheveled as if he had just crawled back from a battlefield. Only his eyes, in the dim light, still radiated a chilling calm and depth.
Gu Siqing's pupils contracted sharply, and her confused consciousness instantly cleared up.
"Qin Xiao?" Her voice was a little hoarse, carrying the weakness and disbelief of someone just waking up. "You... how could you..." She seemed to want to ask him how he got here, and how he got injured like this, but for a moment she didn't know where to begin. In the end, she just asked, "Who... who beat you up like this?"
Her gaze unconsciously swept over Qin Xiao's wounds, her brows furrowing involuntarily. Her eyes were no longer cold and distant as before, but instead contained confusion, shock, and a trace of worry that she herself was unaware of.
Gu Siqing's voice was urgent and trembled slightly as she struggled to sit up.
Shen Xingling walked over and explained in a formulaic tone, "Miss Gu, this gentleman and him," she pointed to Ye Chen who was being taken away, "we just got into a fight here, and we need to take them back to the police station to make statements."
Gu Siqing looked in the direction where Ye Chen was taken away, her eyes instantly turning icy cold and filled with undisguised resentment.
When she turned back to look at Qin Xiao, her coldness transformed into deep pity and worry, and she hesitated to speak.
Shen Xingling urged Qin Xiao impatiently, "Let's go quickly."
She had no liking for Qin Xiao, a notorious playboy in the capital. He acted recklessly because of his family background, and his current fight only confirmed her impression of him.
Qin Xiao's gaze lingered on the policewoman in front of him for a moment. Shen Xingling, a well-known ice queen in the city bureau, looked even more dashing in her police uniform. It had to be admitted that, in terms of appearance alone, she was truly outstanding.
