I'm a Doctor in the Apocalypse

My name is Lu Xiaonan, and I am a doctor. Three days ago, my friend Su Ming told me that the entire world would face a catastrophe and fall, and to be prepared. At the time, I didn't believe hi...

"Where are they now?" Pu Weichao asked.

"We're already near the military district gate. Do you need my help?" The calm voice came again.

Pu Weichao glanced at Fei Lichao and said, "No need, you keep an eye on things outside, we'll handle it. If any problems arise, then you can come over."

I asked, "What should we do?"

Fei Lichao stared at Pu Weichao and said, "Should we hide here or go meet them? You decide."

Yan Zhengfeng has already closed the door to the house, so that the noise we make here won't attract monsters from other places.

Pu Weichao pondered for half a minute and said, "Let's go down first and scout out the situation to see if they know anything about this place. But remember, we must pretend we just arrived and know nothing about it. Also, if we have any communication with them, leave it all to me. None of you need to say a word unless I need your cooperation."

"Yes, I understand." I nodded.

Fei Lichao and Yan Zhengfeng naturally understood this as well.

We dare not let our guard down when dealing with strangers.

We learned our lesson last time, and we can't afford to have any more problems this time. It would be best to resolve this peacefully, but if that's not possible, then we'll have to deal with it another way.

"Let's go down first," Pu Weichao said.

The four of us went down through the hole in the wall again and slowly walked towards the entrance of the military area.

The monsters around us inevitably came at us after they saw us, so Fei Lichao and Yan Zhengfeng rushed ahead and easily took down the monsters that came at them.

As we got closer, the four of us heard noises coming from the entrance of the military area.

We could hear the sounds of them slashing monsters and talking to each other.

"Uncle, are you sure there are really weapons in here?" A voice that sounded very familiar to me suddenly came, and I paused, a little surprised.

"Yeah, Ludin, isn't this a safe zone? Are there really weapons inside?" someone asked.

At this moment, the man named Luding spoke up: "This used to be a military area. If you didn't have weapons, why would I have brought you here?"

"Uncle, there seem to be a lot of zombies inside, and the door is locked from the inside. How do we get in?" That familiar voice came again.

Luding said, "Let's look around and see if we can find any gaps."

Hearing his words, the four of us looked at each other in bewilderment.

Pu Weichao said, "Just wait for them to come. Take it easy. If we run into them, we run into them."

Sure enough, the other group of people walked towards them, cursing and swearing.

We were all very curious about who the other person was.

Before long, the footsteps of the other party drew closer. Fei Lichao listened carefully to their footsteps and whispered, "There are five people."

I was surprised. How could you tell that from that?

In no time, the figure walking in front of them came into our view. Pu Weichao moved forward, and we followed him decisively.

In an instant.

The four of us met up with the other five!

The moment we met, the four of us, as Pu Weichao had instructed, pretended to raise our blood-stained machetes and stared nervously at each other.

When the five men saw us, they looked slightly surprised, and then they raised what they were holding, instinctively becoming defensive.

Just as we were facing off, feeling completely bewildered...

I saw a familiar face, and he saw me too. I was surprised to see it was him; no wonder his voice sounded familiar.

"Hey, what a coincidence! It's you, brother! I almost didn't recognize you!" Sun Shichao spoke first, his face showing surprise.

Pu Weichao looked at me with surprise and asked in confusion, "You know him?"

I explained in a low voice, "It's the guy who gave me a chicken last time."

Pu Weichao looked like he had just realized something.

I replied to Sun Shichao, "Yes, what a coincidence that we met here."

The man leading the group was wearing a police uniform, had messy hair, and looked to be in his forties. He stared at me and asked Sun Shichao beside him, "Do you know him?"

"Uncle, do you remember the guy I told you about who gave me gasoline? It was him. I wouldn't have been able to get back without him."

The leader nodded and put down his knife first. Then the others behind him put down what they were holding. Seeing this, we also put down our machetes.

Sun Shichao's uncle is named Lu Ding, as you can tell from their conversation.

Lu Ding looked us four up and down and said, "My name is Lu Ding. I used to be a policeman. Are you all survivors?"

Pu Weichao stood next to Fei Lichao and nodded, saying, "Yes, we are all lucky survivors. My name is Pu Weichao, and I used to be a white-collar worker."

Luding nodded and asked, "Do you have a camp? I do have a safe place here. If the four of you have nowhere to go, you can come with me."

Pu Weichao smiled and said, "No need for that. We just found a safe place to stay these past two days. We think it's nice there, so we don't need to move. We appreciate your kindness."

Lu Ding nodded: "Whatever. Since you have a place to stay, I won't insist. But, do you mind if I ask what happened to the four of you just now? Why are you in such a mess?"

The four of us did look quite disheveled, because we were covered in blood.

Pu Weichao said with a wry smile, "Is that even a question? Of course, we encountered a horde of zombies. We barely managed to escape."
