Jiajiang City is more than 40 kilometers away from Wutong City, which is not far.

But getting through it safely and smoothly is not an easy thing.

And the most crucial thing is not the road to Wutong City, but where Zhou Liang is. Although Wutong City is only half the size of Jiajiang City, it is still a city. How am I supposed to find him on my own?

I got back into the car, the engine jolted, and the car started.

Slowly leaving the industrial park.

There are many roads leading to Wutong City, the main road of which is called Wutong Avenue, which leads directly to the entrance of Jiajiang Vocational and Technical College. So I chose to take the back path.

After leaving the industrial park, we drove directly south.

The safe zone is now a mix of black and white, with black representing ruins and white representing snow, giving it a postmodern feel.

I was surprised by the snow, because it's already April and there's still snow, and the day is still as cold as winter. I remember the river was frozen when I escaped last night, which is really strange.

Could it be because everyone in the world has died?

The journey was long, but the road wasn't as difficult as I had imagined. I was the only car on the entire road, in the middle of nowhere, and it was completely silent.

I don't know how long I walked, but when I looked at my watch, it was almost nine in the morning.

There's a corner ahead; if you turn off, you should be on the main road. Once you're on the main road, you should be able to drive faster.

As I listened to the roar of the engine, I suddenly felt something was off, because the engine sounded a little different than before.

I hadn't noticed it before because the car's sound insulation was so good that I could barely hear anything.

I'm about to turn, and because the road is so narrow, I have to open the window and watch the tires outside to avoid driving off the road. That's when I heard the engine.

I stopped at the corner, puzzled. I glanced at the fuel gauge and saw that it was already red. I was stunned.

"Out of gas?!"

That's true; the engine only makes that noise when it's out of fuel.

But I wasn't in a hurry; there should be spare fuel in the trunk.

I continued driving forward, and when I reached the exit of the alley after turning the corner, I stopped the car, turned off the engine, and prepared to refuel.

I got out of the car, went to the back, and opened the trunk. The moment I did, I was stunned.

Empty!

The trunk is empty!

It's completely empty!!!

There was nothing in the trunk—not even a piece of paper, let alone any gas! I closed my eyes, wanting to curse. Clearly, Zhou Liang and his men had taken everything from the car. I had been so naive as to think they would leave something behind.

"Oh well, let's keep going. Maybe we'll run into a new car."

I sighed, closed the trunk, got back in the car, started the engine again, stepped on the gas, turned the steering wheel onto the main road, and continued on my way.

I don't know how long the remaining fuel will last.

I'll just hold out as long as I can. This road looks big, but it's not as good as a road like Wutong Avenue. Besides, this is the countryside, and I rarely see cars. Even if I wanted to collect gasoline, there's no way to do it.

Along the way, we encountered quite a few monsters. After hearing the car's movement, these monsters promptly followed. Within ten minutes, there were about a dozen monsters following me.

However, they were all quite far apart, since even the slowest car was still faster than them.

However, the good times didn't last long.

Just as I was about to make one last burst of speed, a large horde of zombies suddenly appeared ahead. The moment I saw the horde, I lost my composure. If they got entangled with me, I wouldn't survive.

So I didn't go any further. I stopped the car, turned off the engine, glanced around, grabbed my backpack and machete, got out of the car, slammed the door shut, and attracted the horde of zombies ahead.

I hid alone in the grass by the roadside, not daring to linger, and ran straight to the west.

Several monsters followed behind, but they seemed to lose their bearings in the grass and disappeared after a while.

I was quite happy with that, and didn't bother with it, continuing to walk forward.

Looking around, I discovered that what I was seeing was a planting base.

I don't know what's growing here, and I'm not interested.

After walking west for half an hour, I arrived at the entrance of the planting base and saw a sign with some words written on it.

"Picking strawberries..."

I looked back and was surprised. "So this place is full of strawberries."

A bitter smile appeared on my lips.

I remember when I graduated from high school, I went strawberry picking with a few close classmates, including Xu Xin. I wonder how they are doing now. We promised to get together after graduating from college, but while they were graduating, I was still struggling in school. How miserable.
