My name is Lu Xiaonan, and I am a doctor. Three days ago, my friend Su Ming told me that the entire world would face a catastrophe and fall, and to be prepared. At the time, I didn't believe hi...
(Apocalypse ★ Safe Zone, Group Number: . This is a regular group created by a fellow reader; anyone can join. Of course, I'll definitely be in it too. If you want to talk to me, you can go here. I don't know how many people will join, so feel free to come.)
Fang Lin shook hands with Sister Jing very politely, but a problem arose when it came to Fei Lichao.
After the two clasped hands together, they didn't let go for a long time. At first, we didn't notice until Fang Lin screamed and pulled his hand back, at which point we realized what had happened.
"Were you two just having a hand-to-hand combat contest?" Sister Jing asked curiously.
We looked over curiously too.
Fang Lin laughed and said, "Haha, yes, yes, I heard that you have a soldier here, so I wanted to see how he was. So I just tried him out, and he's really good."
I frowned slightly; his words were rather flippant.
I turned to look at Fei Lichao and noticed that he looked very unwell.
I quickly changed the subject, saying, "Alright. We're ready. If you're free, let's go."
“Brother Lu, you’re in charge,” Zhang Zhihao said with a smile.
When Zhang Zhihao said this, I glanced at Fang Lin next to him and saw that Fang Lin looked at me with disdain.
I couldn't be bothered with him. The six of us, in two cars, officially set off.
From Jiajiang to Wutong City, it takes about an hour if you're quick, but if you're slow, I don't know.
We took Wutong Avenue, which leads directly to the northern suburbs of Wutong City, but we didn't know how good the road conditions were.
We might encounter traffic jams or hordes of zombies on the way; in short, we have to be careful.
On the bus.
Jing asked in confusion, "What was wrong with Fang Lin just now? He seemed to look down on us."
Before I could speak, Fei Lichao shouted, "Who cares what happened? If he dares to mess things up, I'll be the first to kill him!"
I gave a wry smile and asked, "Was it him who used force on you first?"
Fei Lichao said, "Yeah, since that kid's been acting like a jerk, I'll make him suffer. I don't know why Zhang Zhihao brought someone like that out here, is he looking for death?"
Sister Jing said, "We can't say that. Maybe he has special talents?"
Fei Lichao said unhappily, "So what? If this kid dares to cause trouble, I'll twist his head off!"
I said, "Let's see how it goes. If it really doesn't work, let Zhang Zhihao deal with him first. If all else fails, just break one of his legs."
Jingjie and Fei Lichao were both stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing.
Break a leg...
Twenty minutes later, we seemed to have run into trouble.
The car leading the way was Zhang Zhihao's, and they had already stopped.
Zhang Zhihao's voice came through the walkie-talkie: "Brother Lu, we've encountered a horde of zombies ahead. You guys quickly turn off the engine and hide. Don't make any noise. We'll set off again after the horde has passed."
"A horde of zombies?!"
We looked at each other in bewilderment.
Fei Lichao turned off the car, then opened the sunroof and stuck his head out to look. After pulling back out, he said, "There really is a horde of zombies, a lot of them! They're about fifty meters away from us."
I asked, "Is it safe for us to park like this?"
Jingjie said a little nervously, "Probably, since there's no sound, the zombies won't pay attention to us."
A moment later, Zhang Zhihao's voice came through the walkie-talkie: "Brother Lu, the horde of zombies is coming soon. None of you should make a sound. From now on, I will not contact you again. We'll talk after the horde has passed."
After he finished speaking, the walkie-talkie went silent.
Fei Lichao turned off the walkie-talkie and then gestured for us to lower our bodies so that we wouldn't be seen by the zombies outside.
We huddled in the car.
I waited for about ten minutes.
"Awooo—" The roars of zombies came from outside the car. There were so many of them. We stayed inside the car with all the windows closed. Although the soundproofing was very good, it was still like being surrounded by a beehive when more than a hundred zombies passed by the car. It was terrifying.
We held our breath, afraid to breathe too loudly, lest the zombies outside hear us.
Thud! Thud!
Before long, some zombies were jostled onto the vehicle, making noise, but we still dared not move.
Some zombies were even lying on the windowsills, slapping their hands against the car windows, which was quite annoying.
Some zombies even climbed directly from the front of the car to the roof. It was the first time I had ever seen a zombie that would climb onto a car. If it weren't for the fact that its face was already rotting, I would have thought it was a person!
I don't know how long it took, but the zombies were moving very slowly. I checked my watch, and five minutes had passed, and they still didn't seem to have finished.
I didn't think much of it and remained curled up in the car, waiting patiently.
What we have in abundance right now is time.
After about ten minutes, there was no more noise outside.
I looked up and found that the outside was empty.
Looking back at the car, the horde of zombies had all headed towards Jiajiang City, leaving only a few scattered zombies around.
Fei Lichao turned on the walkie-talkie, and Zhang Zhihao's voice immediately came through.
"Brother Lu, are you all alright?"
"It's alright," I said.
"Okay, continue."
We continued on our way, and as soon as the engine started, the scattered zombies around us heard it and turned around.
But we didn't give them a chance to get close. Fei Lichao stepped on the gas and caught up with Zhang Zhihao and his group.
