My name is Lu Xiaonan, and I am a doctor. Three days ago, my friend Su Ming told me that the entire world would face a catastrophe and fall, and to be prepared. At the time, I didn't believe hi...
(This chapter is what I owed you yesterday, so I'm making up for it now. There will be three more chapters tonight.)
The moment we returned to the school, it felt like coming home.
Zhang Zhihao's men had been guarding the door, and when they saw us return, they opened the door for us.
Two cars stopped at the dormitory entrance. Fei Lichao carried Jingjie up the dormitory building and into her room, with Lu Yun following behind.
After settling Jingjie in, I said to Lu Yun, "If anything happens, come down and find us. We'll be right downstairs."
"I understand," Lu Yun said coldly.
Jingjie needs to rest; it will probably take her a few days to recover.
When Fei Lichao and I left Jingjie's dormitory and came downstairs, we ran into Liu Guang, who was sitting in a wheelchair.
After seeing us, Liu Guang asked, "I just heard that Lu Jing was injured. How are you? Are you alright?"
I said, "Don't worry, it's nothing serious, just a superficial wound. It'll heal in a few days. Anyway, how was it? Nothing happened after we left yesterday, right?"
Liu Guang shook his head and said, "Nothing really happened, except that Fan Bin woke up once last night, and it seemed like he was throwing a tantrum. He even beat up Su Yao and the other guy."
I stared wide-eyed. "What happened? Are the three of them alright?"
Liu Guang said, "It's nothing. Fan Bin fainted from the pain again and hasn't woken up yet."
I breathed a sigh of relief.
I was a little surprised, though. Fan Bin's right arm was broken, yet he still had the strength to hit someone! It seems that losing his arm really affected him a lot. I hope he won't be too extreme after he recovers.
I asked Liu Guang where Su Yao and Cui Xiaofei were, and Liu Guang said they were patrolling the school.
Without thinking much about it, I decided to go and check on Fan Bin's situation.
But then Zhang Zhihao found me.
He said he was going back to Jiangbei.
"Won't you stay another day?" I asked.
Zhang Zhihao shook his head, "No, we suffered heavy losses this time. So many people died. I still need to tell the people in the community about this, since there are relatives of the deceased in the community, and we need to let them know."
"Oh, right, there's something I need to give you." I nodded, then suddenly remembered something, reached into my pocket, and found a ring, which I handed to Zhang Zhihao.
Zhang Zhihao was confused. "What is this?"
I said, "This is that guy, I think his name is Zhao Hua. I took it from him. Since he's one of your people, you should know who his family is, right?"
"Zhao Hua." Zhang Zhihao took the ring and nodded silently. "Thank you, Brother Lu. I will give this ring to Zhao Hua's wife."
“It’s what I should do,” I said.
Zhang Zhihao gave a bitter, strained smile and said, "Then I'll be leaving now, Brother Lu. I should come back in a few days. Fan Bin can stay here with you for now, Brother Lu, and I'll come back to pick him up when he's almost fully recovered."
"No problem, leave it to me."
Zhang Zhihao and his remaining four left. There were more than a dozen of them when they first arrived, but now only five remain, which is quite a sad sight.
Life is so fragile.
We don't know how long we'll live; we might die tomorrow.
Taking a deep breath, Fei Lichao asked me, "What the hell are you thinking?"
I looked at him and said, "I'm wondering when we're going to die."
Fei Lichao rolled his eyes at me and said, "Get the hell out of here. Why are you thinking about this stuff? Go play with your balls somewhere else."
"..." I smiled wryly. "By the way, Lao Fei, do me a favor and go call Su Yao and the other two back. I need to have a meeting."
Why didn't you go and call them?
"I need to go up and check on Fan Bin. Why don't you go see Fan Bin and I'll go get them? I don't mind."
Fei Lichao didn't answer me; he just turned around and left the dormitory building.
"..."
Liu Guang, watching from the side, smiled and said, "You two have such a good relationship."
I glanced back at him and said helplessly, "You know what you said is very ambiguous."
Liu Guang was taken aback, then laughed: "Hahaha, I didn't think that way, you're the one who thought that way."
"..."
Too lazy to pay attention to him, I went up to the third floor. Fan Bin was resting in a dormitory room on the third floor. I wondered what his situation was.
When I arrived at the door of Fan Bin's dormitory, I pushed it open and went in. I glanced inside and found that Fan Bin was still lying in bed and had not woken up.
I went to the bedside. His right arm below the elbow was completely gone, and it was wrapped tightly in gauze. I did everything I could to treat it yesterday, so there shouldn't be any infection.
I touched his forehead from behind; he didn't have a fever.
Then I checked his breathing and heartbeat with a stethoscope, and they were both steady and there was nothing wrong.
He woke up once yesterday and has been sleeping ever since. I guess he'll wake up soon.
Since he's alright, there's no need for me to stay here any longer.
Just as she stood up and was about to leave, she heard Fan Bin's weak voice coming from the bed behind her.
"Don't go."
I turned my head and saw Fan Bin looking at me with his eyes open, not like he had just woken up.
"You're awake?"
Fan Bin said weakly, "I woke up a long time ago, before you arrived!"
I raised an eyebrow. So this kid was pretending to be asleep just now?
"Are you hungry? Should I get you something to eat?" I asked.
