Chapter 617 Back to Elementary School

Around 11 a.m., most people had finished climbing the stairs. Because they were not used to such intense training, they collapsed from exhaustion when they returned to the second floor.

Some people skipped a lap or two to be lazy. I noticed, but I didn't point it out. After all, it was the first time, so I let them slack off a little. It wasn't a big deal anyway.

After everyone had come down, I stood in front of them and said, "I know that many of you couldn't keep going and ran fewer laps, but that's okay. This is the first time, and I allow that. But I need you to remember, if you try to slack off and end up dying because of it, don't blame me."

I said, "But it's not entirely because of that. After all, if I don't do this, I won't be able to explain it to those people above me. Zhu Zhenhao put me in Liu Tian's position so that he could train them. If I still do what Liu Tian did before, Zhu Zhenhao will probably be unhappy."

Hu Fei lay on the bed and sighed, saying, "This is really troublesome. I stood in the hallway and glanced around. I saw that the group of people on the second floor were taking a nap. They must have been exhausted from the morning training, and knowing that there was more training in the evening, they didn't want to waste any time and went straight to sleep so they wouldn't be too busy to sleep at night.

Hu Fei kept watch for me, and I quietly took a few guns and a knife and left the office building, heading towards the school.

It was still early. Although the office building was a bit far from the school, it was only a half-hour walk. There weren't any zombies along the way, so my journey was smooth and nothing happened. I leisurely arrived near the elementary school.

I glanced at the primary school and found that everything was fine; it was still the same as before, with two people guarding the entrance and people inside still busy.

I went straight to the school gate. After so many days, the two people at the school gate seemed not to recognize me anymore. So when I appeared, they called out to me and told me to stand still.

"Who are you! What are you doing here!"

I said, "Someone go and tell Jiang Xiaoxiao that I, Lu Xiaonan, have arrived. Then you'll know who I am."

The two people at the door looked at each other, and one of them said, "Don't move, I'm going to find Sister Jiang right now."

This guy was pretty fast; after saying that, he dashed off into the school. As for the other person, he stared intently at me, not saying a word, and I wondered what he was thinking.

I wanted to talk to him, but seeing his serious and focused gaze, I gave up on the idea. I figured even if I did talk to him, he probably wouldn't say anything.

I was bored waiting outside, so I smoked a cigarette. After about ten minutes, I saw Zhang De and Jiang Xiaoxiao run out of the school together.

As Jiang Xiaoxiao ran, she shouted, "Quickly open the door and let him in!"

The person guarding inside the door turned around with a puzzled expression upon hearing this.

I said, "What are you standing there for? Open the door for me right now."

The gatekeeper was still hesitant, seemingly unwilling to open the door.

Then, Jiang Xiaoxiao ran to the door and opened it for me herself.

Then, she rushed out and hugged me, leaving me a little bewildered.

"Um, what are you doing?" I asked.

Jiang Xiaoxiao stared at me, her eyes filled with tears, and asked anxiously, "Are you... are you alright? Are you hurt?"

I asked, puzzled, "I'm fine, why do you ask?"

Jiang Xiaoxiao asked, "Really? What about your friend? He... he wouldn't have gotten into trouble, would he?"

I gave a wry smile and said, "What's wrong with you? Why are you so panicked? My friend is fine, he's just somewhere else and can't come over right now."

Jiang Xiaoxiao said, "I heard from someone that you were taken away by people in the office building. I was very worried about you, I was very afraid of you, and you are dead too."

I asked in surprise, "I was taken away by people in the office building? Who told you that?"

Jiang Xiaoxiao said, "That kid Fu Sheng saw you being led into a car by people from the office building, and I thought, I thought..."

I smiled and said, "Don't worry, I'm fine, and my companions are fine too. We weren't kidnapped; we went to the office building with them."
