My name is Lu Xiaonan, and I am a doctor. Three days ago, my friend Su Ming told me that the entire world would face a catastrophe and fall, and to be prepared. At the time, I didn't believe hi...

We were so young, and so desperate.
...
After changing Fei Lichao's bandage, I returned to Wu Shuang's room.
As soon as I entered, I saw her trying to get out of bed. She was leaning on the bedside table, swaying weakly.
I rushed over to help her up, asking worriedly, "How did you get up?"
Wu Shuang pouted and said, "I need to go to the toilet."
"Uh." This reason left me speechless.
I helped her into the restroom and waited outside. After a while, Wu Shuang's voice came: "It's done."
When I went inside, I saw that she had already put on her pants, so I helped her back into the room. At this point, she said, "I want to go outside and take a look."
"good."
The scenery in the scenic area is very nice; otherwise, the people in charge of the scenic area wouldn't have built a scenic area here for tourists to rest.
Helping Wu Shuang out of the house, they sat down on a chair outside. The distant mountains and forests complemented each other, and the sounds of the wind and water were refreshing and delightful.
"It's so beautiful," Wu Shuang said with a smile. "How come I never noticed how beautiful this place was before?"
I laughed and said, "That's because there used to be a lot of people here."
Wu Shuang remained noncommittal. "Yes, there used to be so many people here, especially in the summer. It was terrifying how crowded it was. Now that there are fewer people, it looks much more comfortable."
She rested her head on my shoulder, gazing at the idyllic scenery before her, and said wistfully, "If only we could take a picture, but now we don't even have cell phones anymore."
Taking a picture? With a mobile phone?!
I thought for a moment and then smiled and said, "Wait here for me, I'll be right back."
Wu Shuang asked in surprise, "Where are you going?"
I laughed and said, "You'll find out soon enough."
I rushed back to my room, took out my dead phone from my backpack, and then rummaged through it again, pulling out a hand-cranked charger!
I found this charger at Pu Weichao's place. He found it while looking for supplies, and I borrowed it without hesitation. I originally wanted to use it to charge my phone yesterday, but I didn't have time after going out yesterday.
Now, I need to charge my phone!
Although it's troublesome, it's the only way now.
With the charging cable in my face, I started shaking the handle. A rattling sound came from the hand-cranked charger. I don't know how long it would take to turn the phone on.
I put my phone in my pocket, held the charger in my hand and kept shaking it. I went outside, just about to go find Wu Shuang, when Lu Jing suddenly appeared in front of me.
The moment I saw her, I froze on the spot.
When she saw me, her face showed surprise, followed by sadness.
She walked past me without saying a word.
I didn't know what to say, so I said nothing. Lu Jing's husband and daughter had both died in the kindergarten. Although two days had passed, she must still be in great pain.
I sighed, not knowing what to do with her.
If I have time later, I should go and talk to her. After all, this matter is somewhat related to me as well.
I stood at the doorway, pondering, shaking the charger in my hand.
I took out my phone, pressed the power button, and found that the phone turned on normally.
This makes me very happy.
However, it takes a long time to boot up, so I had no choice but to shake the charger vigorously in the hopes of charging it faster.
I took the charger and phone outside and said to Wu Shuang with a smile, "Look what this is."
When Wu Shuang saw the phone in my hand that was turning on, she exclaimed excitedly, "Wow, you actually have a phone!"
"Yes, are you happy!"
Wu Shuang took the phone, nodded with a grin, and said, "Happy, happy!"
"It's still charging, though. Let's wait a bit. Once it's turned on, we can take a picture, okay?"
"Okay," Wu Shuang said with a smile, holding her phone and staring at the screen.
It does take a long time to boot up, after all, it's a hand-cranked charger with unstable voltage and extremely slow charging speed, so it will probably be a long time before you can take a picture.
However, it didn't take long.
With my persistent efforts, the phone was turned on in less than two minutes.
"It's open! It's open! It's open!" Wu Shuang exclaimed excitedly, like a child.
Thinking back, mobile phones were once an indispensable part of our lives; you could say that using mobile phones had become a way of life. Now, with global catastrophes, mobile phones have become useless, but this long-lost feeling still excites us.
I kept shaking my phone, glanced at the battery indicator, and saw it was only two percent, far from enough. I said, "How about we take the picture when it reaches five percent?"
"Okay." Wu Shuang understood that keeping the phone screen on would drain the battery, so she turned it off and told me to charge it without worry.
We sat in the hallway, snuggling together, one holding a charger and the other holding a phone, chatting about fun and interesting things from the past.
I could tell that Wu Shuang's physical strength seemed to be declining, and her voice was becoming much softer.
After what seemed like an eternity, she checked her phone and exclaimed with delight, "It's got six percent battery left! Let's take a picture!"
"Okay, fine, how about you take the photos?" I said. "I'll continue charging."
Wu Shuang's lips were slightly pale. She opened the camera app, switched to the front camera, pointed the lens at the two of us, and said, "Smile."
I tilted my head and it touched Wu Shuang's head. Wu Shuang promptly pressed the shutter.
With a click, the photo was taken.
