I'm a Female University Student, It's Reasonable For Me To Draw Talismans, Right?

My name is Chen Xi. For several consecutive days, I dreamed of my parents jumping to their deaths. Their hollow eyes nearly drove me to collapse! After meeting my master, I learned that I had been ...

Volume 2: The Nine-Tailed Fox's Invitation (Chapter 158)

"Hehe, that's what I said, but I still managed to kill the drought demon."

"I just never expected that my opportunity would be death."

To be honest, I'm still a little scared. If I had really died back then, I think it would have been too late to regret it.

“In that situation, even if I were to die, I would still step up. Master, you said that those who enter the Daoist path should always keep the well-being of all people in mind!”

"Maintaining the balance between the Yin and Yang realms is our mission. In that situation, only I could step up and change everything."

After I finished speaking, my master sighed heavily: "Ah, you silly child, what should I say about you?"

"I just really can't figure out what secret you have that allows you to defeat the drought demon so easily."

I scratched my head, actually I didn't understand either: "You probably won't believe me if I say I don't really know either, but there is something I've been keeping from you."

"Do you remember when we killed the zombie in that tomb of the Rat?"

The master nodded and began to recall, "Yes, that zombie had the strength of a zombie king, it was extremely powerful, I'm afraid even I was no match for it."

"He easily kidnapped you right in front of me back then, which is why your master's wife got very angry with me."

"That's right, it was him. It wasn't that he had the wrong person; his target was me."

“I didn’t know him, but he bowed down to me. I didn’t believe him at first, but at that time, killing me would have been a piece of cake for him, but he humbled himself.”

“I met him a few times during that time, and he said a lot of things to me that I couldn’t understand. If it weren’t for him, I would have been dead when I met Ghost King Yunsi.”

"But this time he didn't stop me. He seemed to know everything, but he never told me the details. He must have some concerns."

"Hmm, these things are too unbelievable, and I'm at a loss for words for the moment," the master said, resting his chin on his hand as he pondered.

"As long as you're alright, that's good. The Heaven and Earth Church no longer exists, and our biggest threat has disappeared. Do you want to go back to school?"

I never expected my master to bring up the matter of going to school. I thought I would spend my whole life fighting ghosts and suppressing evil, but suddenly, when I returned to peace, I felt like something was missing.

"I'm sorry, Xiaoxi. I led you down this path, and I never imagined it would be so difficult for you."

"But thankfully you made it through. How about it? Want to go back to school and relax a bit?"

When I entered the pure white world, I also thought about going back to school to take a look, after all, that was the path I hadn't finished walking.

"Okay, but before that, I want to try my best to find a way to wake Wu Shi up."

When I finished speaking, my master's expression changed. Or rather, it was more like guilt.

I could tell that my master was very worried about me.

“Xiao Xi, don’t put too much pressure on yourself. After all, you’re just a kid in your early twenties. Your advisor has already gone to find a way to wake Wu Shi up.”

“Although you don’t say it, your master knows that you’ve been carrying too much burden on yourself lately, and it’s time to relax.”

“I’m fine, Master. I just want him to wake up soon. Master, you go ahead and do your work. I want to talk to Wu Shi alone for a while.”

When my master saw that I had spoken, he didn't say much, just nodded and left the ward.

Looking at Wu Shi lying on the hospital bed, I felt a mix of emotions. Although I had so much to say to him, all I could manage was a sob.

I don't know when it happened, but my cheeks were already covered in tears:

"Wu Shi, when will you wake up? You said you would protect me, and you did."

"But I am strong now, and I am capable of protecting you. I have also done what I promised you. The zombie that hurt you has been burned to ashes by me."

"So please open your eyes, okay?"

“I also want you to see this peaceful world, where we no longer have to live in fear or worry about that organization’s retaliation against us.”

"The Church of Heaven and Earth is a thing of the past, but I'm not happy at all. I miss the days when we fought side by side."

"Even though you are not strong enough, I feel exceptionally safe when I'm by your side."

"Honey, we're husband and wife. Can you bear to see your wife go back to school and be pursued by other boys?"

"But I definitely won't agree, after all, you're so jealous."

As I was talking, I even laughed at myself.

It all felt like a dream, a fantastical beginning, from the first time I received a call from Zishu to the destruction of the Heaven and Earth Church.

"I've made up my mind. I'm going back to finish my studies so that I can be considered a graduate of a prestigious university."

"When you wake up, you can proudly introduce yourself as a top student who graduated from Shanghai University."

I stroked Wu Shi's cheek, but felt incredibly empty inside. I wanted him to talk to me, but he couldn't give me any response.

After a long while, I slowly stood up, kissed Wu Shi on the cheek, and then walked out of the ward.

Outside the hospital, traffic was heavy and people were noisy; this bustling city remained unchanged.

I was walking along the sidewalk, but my thoughts were in a state of utter confusion; I didn't even know what I was thinking.

After the battle, everything was back to normal. Of course, I didn't dare tell my parents about Wu Shi, as that would only make them worry more.
