Chapter 103 The Matchmaker's Tale (Part 1)

"We've arrived." Zhuang Zhao stopped the car and turned to stare at Su Meiren.

"Thank you, see you again sometime." Su Meiren opened the car door, stepped out, and her body blocked the sunlight, casting a shadow over Yan Shi.

The moment the car door closed, Yan Shi vanished without a trace.

"She took my sister with her too." Yifan said and went to open the car door. There was nothing outside the car, neither Su Meiren nor Yan Shi.

Zhuang Zhao: I knew this woman's appearance never meant anything good!

When the location was checked, Yan Shi's little green dot appeared a kilometer away.

That speed... could it be that they've teamed up with a magician?

No, I remember that Su Meiren was a sorcerer, but I've never heard of her being proficient in anything.

Zhuang Zhao drove over to the location of Chao Yanshi and contacted Han Yan to ask if he knew what kind of sorcerers the Su family were.

"The Su family? There is no Su family among the sorcerer families, unless they change their surname, such as through marriage, becoming a son-in-law, or adoption. Sorcerers value their clan and will not change their surname once it has been passed down. Are you mistaken?"

"Do you know who that female sorceress is who used forbidden magic and had a child with a different species?"

"There are forbidden techniques like this? That's incredibly powerful. People who possess forbidden techniques are usually ruthless, but I've never heard of any family having such a technique."

Zhuang Zhao suddenly remembered that Si Yue seemed to know Su Meiren back then, so he contacted Si Yue again.

"Who is that woman who kidnapped Yan Shi last time because of the child?"

"You mean Qin Ke? What happened to her?"

"Yan Shi has been taken away by her again."

"This woman isn't done yet. Qin Ke from the Shadow Qin family was expelled from the Qin family for using forbidden techniques. After the kidnapping incident, she disappeared without a trace. The Qin family members can control shadows and move through them, appearing and disappearing like ghosts. Because of their strict family rules, they haven't caused any trouble for others, so the other families haven't interfered."

"You go find it first, I'll go to the Qin family."

"Was my sister taken away? How can we find her?"

"It will be found soon."

Zhuang Yifan peered out the window, afraid of missing the sunrise.

The location data showed that Yan Shi was moving quite fast; in just a short while, he was already three kilometers away, exactly where the zombies were on the zombie radar.

Zhuang Zhao immediately thought of the one-eyed man and couldn't help but curse.

Why are they all clinging to Yan Shi? She's not Tang Sanzang, who can grant immortality.

The location showed that Yan Shi had finally stopped. Zhuang Zhao stepped on the gas and chased after him. When the road ended, he got out of the car and went over. Zhuang Yifan couldn't catch up with Zhuang Zhao even running. By the time Zhuang Zhao remembered that there was still a little one, they had fallen quite far behind.

Zhuang Zhao took a few steps back to carry him on his back. More and more zombies surrounded him, each one resembling a sunflower, its head moving with Zhuang Zhao's movements.

Zhuang Yifan clung tightly to Zhuang Zhao, afraid of falling and being eaten.

"There's someone here!"

Is it edible?

"Is it human? It smells awful."

"Right? How about taking a bite?"

"No, he doesn't look like someone to be trifled with. What if he's here to see the king again?"

"That's true." Some of the aliens dispersed, while others stared intently, waiting for an opportunity to get a bite.

At this moment, Si Yue had already left the Qin family. He had obtained something to restrain Qin Ke and was heading towards Zhuang Zhao's location.

When Zhuang Zhao found him, Yan Shi was washing the one-eyed man's hair.

Zhuang Zhao: Am I opening it wrong?

"You're here, have a seat," Yan Shi greeted, deftly pouring shampoo into his hair, lathering it up, and then applying it to One-Eyed's hair.

Zhuang Zhao thought for a moment, and realized that Yan Shi hadn't washed her hair yet, which made her feel a little uncomfortable.

"Where is Lady Su?"

Su Cha was already quite old; she looked to be around twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old. Her skin was smooth and delicate, but there were also fine lines around her eyes and other areas.

Looking at her bare face in the mirror, Su Cha ran her fingertip across the corner of her eye, her eyes filled with sorrow.

She couldn't wait any longer; wrinkles would soon cover every nook and cranny, and if she waited any longer, she would really become an old woman. However, Su Cha glanced at Gu Hang, who was busy embroidering beside her, and her brows furrowed even more deeply.

She had tried to gauge Gu Hang's opinion on her becoming his wife several times before, but he always firmly refused.

"Becoming family members will only lead to bad things. Don't bring this up again," Gu Hang said.

"What will I do when I get old? My face will be full of wrinkles, my cheeks will be sunken, and my eyes will be empty..."

“Everyone gets like this when they get old, and it’s not this serious. Even when you’re old and become a granny, you’ll still be the most beautiful,” Gu Hang comforted her, kissing Su Cha’s forehead as he spoke.

"Don't try to fool me. Even if you think I'm pretty, I don't dare look in the mirror myself!" Su Cha lightly slapped away Gu Hang's hand that was brushing her hair aside, pouting and complaining.

The fear of getting old is what Su Cha finds most terrifying. When you live a long time, you lose the concept of death, but old age is different. Old age is when your looks fade, and the emphasis is on the fading of your looks.

Gu Hang didn't say anything.

“After beauty fades, there is death, and to sleep forever in the ugliest state, how can one accept that?” Su Cha said softly, almost to herself.

Gu Hang remained silent.

The conversation ended there. Su Cha was angry at Gu Hang's stubbornness and hadn't spoken to him for several days. The cold war only ended when she saw a young girl hanging around Gu Hang.

How could Su Cha possibly convince Gu Hang? She pondered this question day and night, resulting in severe disharmony in their marital life.

Just when Gu Hang felt he had to talk to Su Cha to help her resolve her inner conflict, Su Cha made her move.

To ensure a perfect strike, Su Cha made extensive preparations beforehand, practicing several times before gaining confidence that she could achieve the desired effect without injuring herself.

Success or failure hinges on this battle! Su Cha is already quite old; she looks like she's in her late twenties. Her skin is smooth and delicate, but there are also fine lines around her eyes and other areas.
