A strong, dominant queen versus a cunning, biased, devoted, and loyal dog-like man.
After being bitten by a zombie, Yan Shi mutates and gains the ability to devour. The troublesome part is th...
"You can sit down now." Yan Shi pulled him down to sit, afraid that he would say something exaggerated again.
"I haven't asked your name yet. My name is Si Yue."
"Yan Shi, this is my boyfriend, Zhuang Zhao."
"You two are a couple? I thought you were siblings."
"Perhaps I look a bit old. I wonder if you know about the side effects of aliens?" Yan Shi didn't want to exchange pleasantries and went straight to the point.
"This is the first time I've heard this word. Could you explain it?"
"Some aliens suddenly go berserk when using their abilities, their consciousness becomes confused, their abilities go out of control, they attack indiscriminately, and finally die from exhaustion. I have experienced something similar before, but because it was discovered early and I was rescued in time, I didn't reach the last step."
"It sounds like you've heard similar reports from others. I thought it was an isolated case, but it turns out it's a fate that every alien has to go through."
"It's not certain, it's just an assumption. The technology in District 7 is not enough to prove whether this assumption is true. I heard that you are an alien and use your abilities frequently, so I thought you might know something."
“I can set up a research group to study this matter, and it shouldn’t take too long.”
"Since you don't know, let's just leave it at that. We're heading back soon. If you find out any relevant information later, could you contact me? This is my..."
"Give me my phone number. You always forget your phone. It'll be safer to leave me mine." Zhuang Zhao quickly interrupted Yan Shi and wrote down his phone number.
"Too."
The master of ceremonies noticed from the beginning that his uncle was a bit excited. Before the meal, he was walking around on the first floor and would occasionally look up at the upstairs. When he heard a sound from upstairs, he would immediately go back to the dining table and sit down.
And the tone of his voice when he spoke to Yan Shi was no longer the way he would burn someone to ashes at the slightest disagreement.
It wasn't until Zhuang Zhao spoke that he dared to be certain that his uncle had taken a liking to Yan Shi.
Why did she have to fall for someone who already has a boyfriend? Judging from Yan Shi's appearance, she's not someone who can be easily swayed. Her love life is certainly bumpy.
He realized it was the first time he had seen his uncle experiencing the first stirrings of love, and he was unaware of what was happening behind his back.
Knowing he wouldn't get the information he wanted, Yan Shi ate until he was about 80% full, then took his leave, pulling Zhuang Zhao, who was only half full.
"I'll drive you." Sili swallowed the food in his mouth, got up and followed.
I should have eaten a few more bites while watching the commotion.
Traveling by car is so fast; in the blink of an eye, they were out of the villa. Yan Shi thought that since they were about to leave District Nine, they should take a few more glances.
Once inside the bustling city center, there were more people and cars on the road, and roaring motorcycles that always seemed to emerge from strange places. Even Sili didn't dare to drive too fast; he valued his life very much.
There was a car accident at an intersection, and the car and its occupants completely blocked the road. Sili had to turn around, and Yan Shi suddenly called for a stop.
"Could you stop the car? I saw someone I know."
The Master of Ceremonies stopped the car, and Yan Shi ran down, abandoning even Zhuang Zhao.
Zhuang Zhao was taken aback, then chased after him.
"I'll be waiting for you here," the Master of Ceremonies called out to the two.
"No need, we'll figure out how to get back ourselves."
Yan Shi was mainly unsure how long the call would take, and whether she could return safely if she delivered the wrong person; she didn't want to keep Si Li waiting.
The Master of Ceremonies, seeing the direction Yan Shi had run, started the car and gave chase.
I feel like I might as well follow him instead of staying here, since he has nothing else to do anyway.
"Who did you see?" Zhuang Zhao asked as he caught up.
"Sangzhi is the older sister who helped me when I first gained my newfound abilities."
"Haven't you seen each other since then? Can you still recognize me?"
"I'm not sure if it is, we'll know once we catch up. It's the one with the hazy blue jacket."
Every time he was about to catch up, the other person would turn. There were many people on the road, and Yan Shi couldn't bring himself to shout, so he could only follow silently.
"It should be going this way, so where did it go?"
They eventually lost track of her, and Yan Shi was about to turn back when Zhuang Zhao stopped her.
"Over there," Zhuang Zhao pointed to the other side.
"Let's go take a look."
There was a flower bed across the road, and the short-haired girl in hazy blue was behind the flowers. Yan Shi didn't see her earlier because she was crouching down and the flowers were blocking her view.
As Yan Shi was about to cross the aisle, he saw a man in a wheelchair next to the girl, and the girl was bending down to kiss him.
Yan Shi stopped.
"What's wrong?"
"I don't think I've mistaken the person, but the timing seems a bit off. I feel like I shouldn't go over there now," Yan Shi said, somewhat disappointed.
Sangzhi was a special person to her. She had always wanted to see her again and tell her, "Look, I'm pretty amazing now. Thank you for what you said to me back then."
"Anyway, we know she's here, we'll just find another opportunity."
The two hadn't walked far back when they saw Sili's car. Sili leaned out and beckoned them to get in.
"Have you found them?"
"I guess we've found it."
The Master of Ceremonies escorted them to their destination, and before Yan Shi got out of the carriage, he spoke a kind word for his uncle.
"Actually, my uncle is the kind of person who would change for someone he likes."
"Huh?" Yan Shi was confused. Why did he suddenly bring this up?
"Oh, what kind of girl does your uncle like? I know a lot of single girls, all kinds of personalities and styles. I can help matchmake and help them find a partner."
"Uh... well, you should ask your uncle."
“Alright then, you can also look for me if you want to find a girlfriend,” Yan Shi said seriously.
"No need, I'm still young, there's no rush."
"What does age have to do with dating? Do whatever you want. See you again someday. Don't go around getting into fights like a thug anymore. If you like fighting, I think your uncle's amusement park would be a good fit."
