Yan Shi handed the shopping bag to Zhuang Zhao and then carried the rickety cage herself. The cat stopped meowing loudly; maintaining its balance had exhausted all its energy.

"I wonder if Heihei has been caught yet. Did you see Heihei this morning?"

"I saw it. It's very clever. It hides in the tree during the day when there are people around." The trees planted in Yan Shi's neighborhood are evergreen privet trees, which are very tall. Hei Hei lives in the privet tree closest to Yan Shi's room. It goes to Yan Shi's room for a stroll every morning and evening, just like it's patrolling its territory.

"It won't listen to you even if you tell it to go. Right now, the most dangerous place in the world is where there are people, isn't that right, little kitty?"

After arriving home, Yan Shi began researching what cats eat. Since there was no ready-made cat food, she searched in the kitchen and found eggs, rice, and meat. She boiled the eggs and meat, cut them into small pieces, added some rice, mixed them together, and excitedly put them in the cage.

If they're full, they won't be so fierce.

The little guy ate with gusto, making snoring noises as he ate, probably because he was guarding his food. After he had almost finished eating, I checked the windows and doors, and then checked the room for anything that might break before letting him out.

Then the cat darted under the cabinet in a flash.

Yan Shi: If you crawl in, how will you use the toilet? And it's hard to clean under the cabinet either.

Finally, Zhuang Zhao and I spent the whole night researching and stuffing everything under the cabinets in the house. We also built a completely hidden cat bed for the cat and made a makeshift litter box next to it.

“The tabby cats we kept in the village when I was a kid knew to go to the toilet in the flowerpots. If you poop in the wrong place, I’ll shrink your range.” Yan Shi tried to communicate, but the cat ignored her and went into its cat bed and refused to come out.

Yan Shi didn't have the courage to reach in and touch it. She knew that cats shouldn't be bathed casually, as they could be easily frightened to death. Even if she wanted to groom it, she would have to do it after it had been properly tamed.
