Nine Chapters: Madman Quanhou

Isn't that the same person in the white coat who knocked on the door earlier? Why does he seem different from before? Is it because he took off his glasses, revealing his eyes? Or is it because he tore off the disguise, revealing his true nature?

Yan Shi felt a surge of irritation. If she wasn't mistaken, this man's eyes were filled with the word "prey."

"You're an alien, aren't you?"

Yan Shi was startled, but didn't answer, pretending not to hear, since no one had specifically asked her by name anyway.

"I have your data. Join forces with me to reclaim Area 11 and regain the initiative for humanity." The doctor in the white coat looked extremely serious, which only made the situation more amusing, but no one laughed; it was as if their voices had been muted.

"Who is he? Do you know him?" Yan Shi asked Zhuang Zhao, who shook her head.

“Quan Hou, a researcher in District 11, is a madman,” the middle-aged man sitting next to Yan Shi replied.

"Judging from his tone, I thought he was a person in charge who had been ousted."

"Haha, that's just how he is, just ignore him."

"Why did the researchers from the inner district also leave?" Yan Shi asked curiously.

"This guy released the alien species into the inner area, and everyone in the research institute turned into zombies."

"Then how come he's alright?"

"Because I was vaccinated," Quan Hou replied, full of pride. Judging from his tone, the vaccine was most likely related to him.

"Has no one else been vaccinated?"

"There's a 50% chance that if you don't succeed, you'll turn into a zombie. Not everyone is willing to try it."

"But why did you put the alien species into the inner area?"

"Because I was doing an experiment, I drew a vial of blood and even cut off one of its arms, look."

The moment Yan Shi took out the foreign remains soaked in formaldehyde, he got up and ran out to vomit.

Why bring this out when we're just eating? Does it affect our appetite?

Apart from Yan Shi, no one else reacted. After all, they had been traveling together for several days, and everyone knew that the person's most treasured possession was that jar, which he would even sleep with.

After Yan Shi returned to the dining table, Quan Hou still wouldn't let go of her, and even sat down next to her. Zhuang Zhao held her ground and squeezed him to the side.

"Only the Xenomorph can fight against the alien species. Those people are afraid of the Xenomorph and also afraid of zombies. How can they make progress if they are afraid of everything? Join me, and I will definitely transform you into the strongest Xenomorph!"

"Thank you, but no need. Stay away from me, you pervert. I'm afraid I might hurt you."

"It's alright, as long as you're willing to cooperate with me, I'll do anything you ask, I'll even give you my life." Quan Hou kept nagging Yan Shi, making Yan Shi lose his appetite. He ate a couple of bites and went back upstairs.

Quan Hou followed him all the way, but was eventually locked out.

"Think it over. I won't harm you. The appearance and existence of the Xenomorphs are still a mystery. Those sorcerers only know the basics. If we can figure out the cause of the Xenomorphs, it will definitely increase the chances of ordinary people mutating. Humans will also have the upper hand in the war between humans and zombies. Why not?" Quan Hou stood outside the door and kept babbling on and on.

"Don't listen to his nonsense. You can't trust anyone in this world." Zhuang Zhao was afraid that Yan Shi would waver, so she quickly helped her to be more vigilant.

"Of course, the kind of researchers are the scariest. He's a madman who put aliens in and ruined the whole institute. Just seeing him makes me shudder. If he succeeded, I would be worse off than those lab rats. I would be living a life worse than death."

Yan Shi spoke with clarity, but deep down she was still somewhat wavering. She also wanted to know the secret of the alien and the secret of the black hole in her palm. Fortunately, this madman was completely untrustworthy, otherwise Yan Shi was truly afraid of being bewitched.

The rain had stopped, but the roads were still heavily flooded, making it impossible to move anytime soon. The two decided to continue their journey the next morning. Had they known they would be entangled with that perverted madman, Quan Hou, they would have rather waded through the water and traveled through the night than stay another night.

"You're going to District Seven? I think District Nine is better. District Eleven won't last long. Once our team grows stronger, we'll go back and rebuild District Eleven." Quan Hou clung tightly to the wagon bed, his mouth never stopping. Yan Shi had been forced to listen to his grand plans all morning, and was so annoyed he wanted to punch him.

Who would have thought that as soon as he went downstairs, he would see this guy chained to the truck bed. He had no choice but to either abandon the truck or kill the man, but Yan Shi couldn't do either of those things, so he could only let this shameless guy stay on the truck.

"Who's on your team? Can't you tell I'm not welcome? Get off the bus, you're so annoying. Aren't you afraid of getting a stomach full of gas and collapsing from diarrhea?" Yan Shi was exasperated. This guy was the most annoying person imaginable; even sticking tree bark on him wasn't as annoying.

"Believe me, it's absolutely worth it to bring me along. A genius with a brilliant mind like me, for the sake of humanity's future, even if it means sacrificing hundreds or thousands of people, I must ensure my survival."

"Zhuang Zhao, I'll go down and follow the car."

"Yes, the road is bad, so keep an eye on it." Zhuang Zhao seemed unaffected, his tone remaining calm and even, which calmed Yan Shi down a bit. But when he turned and saw Quan Hou, he became furious again.

Even if this person doesn't say anything, just looking at him makes her angry; it's a shame he has the appearance of a hypocrite.

"Wait a minute, you, replace Zhuang Zhao," Yan Shi said, pointing at Quan Hou.

Is this the team initiation statement?

"This is the payment for the ride."

"It really proves the old saying: 'A shameless person is invincible.'" Yan Shi was utterly exhausted.

"My face is the most useless organ to me."

"Shut up! If your face were any more annoying, you wouldn't be alive now; you'd be beaten to death by now." As he got out of the car, Yan Shi remembered that he should have a wad of duct tape. After searching for a while, he took it out and sealed Quan Hou's mouth shut.

"Following me is fine, but speaking to me is not, understand?"
