I'm Crowdfunding an Empire in Another World

"Perhaps we can establish a nation here." Under the gaze of a motley crowd, Xia Lan O'Gullos planted the Ink Sea Dragon Banner on Bolavis, which was still a desolate island. No one beli...

Chapter 2 Internal strife

Back in the cabin, after the hatch was closed again, Xia Lan had another hair in his hand, which he had just obtained when he approached Dole.

Carefully hiding the three strands of hair, Xia Lan said with a smile: "We've found a glimmer of hope!"

On the sea, the Silver Deer cut through the waves and sailed under the sunset. The pirates on the deck were carrying wine barrels, preparing to celebrate before reaching their destination.

In the damp and dark cabin below the deck, many people smelled the aroma of wine and wheat, swallowed their saliva, closed their eyes and clasped their hands, and continued to pray.

"Supreme One who governs the operation of all things, bearing the supreme power of the Way of Heaven and Earth, I pray to you with my most devout faith. Have mercy on your believers, and allow them to find the truth under your guidance, comprehend the truth, and understand what truth is..."

It has been almost a whole day, and some people are wondering when it will end.

"Okay, the Lord of Truth should have heard our prayers. Let's recite the disaster-removing spell with me one last time." Xia Lan, who was surrounded by the crowd, placed three tangled strands of hair on the ground and began.

A disordered voice came out of Xia Lan's mouth. Everyone was confused and had to imitate it. Only old Arnold frowned after hearing it, and his silly little apprentice Arsen also looked at him.

After thinking for a while, old Arnold also started to recite, and it seemed to be more rhythmic. Seeing this, the young apprentice Arsen had no choice but to recite along silently.

On the deck, the party began.

Captain Joseph was drinking wine and chewing a sausage in his hand.

Suddenly, his eyes turned to the second mate, Tiff, and saw that Tiff was sitting there in silence with a gloomy face, neither drinking nor eating meat, so he asked:

"Tiff, you don't look very happy."

Dor poured a glass of wine and walked up to Tiff and said, "Tiff, my good brother, are you thinking about women?"

Tiff still didn't speak, and gradually many people put down their wine glasses. Only Joseph's confidants were still holding their wine glasses, at a loss.

"Captain, we only need to pay half of the price for the goods we imported this time, so why did we have to pay the full amount from public funds?" Tifu asked coldly.

"Who said that?" Joseph asked calmly, putting down his glass of wine.

"Saturday." Tiff said truthfully.

"It's him..." Joseph stroked the pattern on the copper wine glass in his hand for a while, stood up staggeringly and drank the wine in the glass, his eyes fixed on the person next to him.

"What else did he say?" Joseph slowly walked up to the man and squatted down, looking into his eyes until his head almost shrank into his stomach.

"He also said you have done this many times." After Tiff said this, almost everyone looking at Joseph began to express dissatisfaction, including his confidants.

"Yes, it's big..." Before the boy named Saturday could finish his words, a sharp knife stabbed into his chest.

After stirring it twice, Joseph drew his dagger and said, "Second Mate, you will have your own ship after this shipment. Friendship is needed on the sea. I will not keep anyone on the ship who wants to leave with you."

"Then where is our money?" Tiff knew that many captains did this, but thinking about having his own ship in the future, he somehow wanted to vent all the grievances he had suffered before leaving, since he would not be working under him anyway.

No one noticed that an invisible red mist was rising from under the deck, and those who inhaled the red mist gradually became irritable.

"Damn Joseph! He stole all my gold coins. I must plunge my sword into his chest."

Many pirates seemed to have begun to forget the power of the Silver Knight and Joseph's bloody methods in the past, and their brains were gradually replaced by anger.

"Tiff, you are leaving soon, and you must be taking some brothers with you. Won't you leave me some money to recruit new people?" Seeing that Tiff didn't reply, and seeing almost everyone glaring at him, Joseph, who had been in the business for so long, knew it was time to back down.

But when he thought of his wife and children, he suddenly began to be reluctant to part with those lovely gold coins, and he even felt murderous intent when looking at the man who was forcing the emperor to abdicate.

If I kill everyone, won’t all the gold coins be mine?

"Haha... Captain, why are you angry? We are all family..." Dole said as he walked up to Joseph to smooth things over.

"puff!"

Joseph, holding the bloody dagger, didn't react to what happened. He stared down at the dagger stuck in his abdomen and asked in disbelief, "Why?"

"Because little Joseph is my son, you will find out sooner or later!" Dole screamed hysterically, his eyes full of fear, but his hands did not stop moving, stirring vigorously.

"Puff!" Joseph spat out a mouthful of blood, grabbed Dole's neck and slammed him hard on the deck. Several cracks spread under his body.

Everyone was stunned, and then the banquet that had just been celebrating was filled with shouts and clashes of swords.

In the cabin below the deck, the three tangled strands of hair in front of Xia Lan began to spontaneously combust and turned into ashes.

Early the next morning, Xia Lan opened the unlocked hatch and led everyone out.

Seeing only a mess outside, the entire deck was dyed red with blood, corpses were piled up, and there were pirates who had been wailing all night and were not dead. Everything was like hell.

Joseph was buried under a pile of corpses, with only the part above his chest exposed. He was biting the neck of Second Mate Tiff, as if he wanted to suck his blood.

First mate Dor leaned against the mast, two heavy swords stuck in his chest, his eyes fixed on the direction of the lower cabin where everyone was imprisoned. He held the chain that locked the lower cabin in his hand, his face showing a complex expression, either unwilling or angry...

Ever since following Joseph, Dole has lived in his shadow, not daring to resist and could only obey like a dog.
