Chapter 1534 The Miners on the Island

The uninhabited island is not very large; it is a deserted island without any plants or animals.

Everywhere was a barren wasteland, a desolate expanse of land in the nearby sea.

The seawater was grayish-yellow, looking as if it had been polluted; this was probably another aspect of the uninhabited island.

The warships landed one after another on a nearby beach.

The grayish-yellow seawater continuously swelled with large amounts of silt and sand towards the shore.

After Lu Yuan and his group disembarked from the warship, they first scanned the surrounding area to make sure there was no danger before they felt relieved.

The island is so desolate that it feels like there's no life in the world, but it has another kind of beauty: the grayish-yellow seawater.

The seawater was a color they had never seen before, and there were some strange-looking fish nearby. A group of children were excitedly running around nearby.

They tried to scoop the fish up, but the adults stopped them. Who knew if the fish were poisonous? What if they got bitten? That would be a real problem.

The children could only stand on the riverbank and watch the fish swaying in the water.

Lu Yuan and the others found chairs and benches, set them up, and then pitched a tent to rest here for a couple of days before setting off again, so they had to make sure everything was ready.

All kinds of tents, food and sleeping bags were prepared. Lu Yuan didn't know whether the tide would rise at night or whether the sea would flood in, so they had to pay attention to this.

The people setting up the tents split into one group, while the other group mainly started handling things. Their kitchen on the warship was very small, and most of the time they ate frozen food that they heated up slightly in the microwave and ate it right away. The taste wasn't particularly good.

After eating this food for a week, everyone felt their mouths were getting bland and wanted to switch to other foods, such as fresh food, which they loved.

Lu Yuan specially took out several pigs, cattle, sheep, and various kinds of fish from the dimensional space and placed them there. Everyone began to process these ingredients one by one.

Soon, they had prepared all the ingredients that evening. They lit a campfire in a place far from the sea, gathered around it, and chatted about some strange sights they had recently discovered at sea, as well as the appearance of some giant birds they had seen in the clouds.

They chatted amongst themselves, some even discussing what the Hope Continent looked like. However, this time, their three-month voyage had only taken six days, and they still had a long time before reaching the Hope Continent.

Lu Yuan also hoped that his arrival on the Hope Continent would be a good start.

If Lu Yuan hoped that the mainland would truly make him regret his decision, then he felt that his plan had completely fallen through.

After dinner, everyone went back to their tents to rest, and the exhausted group went to sleep early.

It was only eight o'clock at night, but it was already dark. Apart from the soft light emanating from the warships, there was nothing else. After arranging the personnel on duty, Lu Yuan crawled into the tent and squeezed into a sleeping bag with Xiao Shan to whisper to each other.

The two fell asleep quickly. Lu Yuan slept soundly, and in his dream, he accidentally bumped into Qiao Ya and Xiao Shan again. He felt like he was a thief.

Suddenly, the dream became increasingly strange, making him feel as if he had been discovered.

Startled awake, Lu Yuan opened his eyes to find that it was still pitch black all around him, and he was covered in a cold sweat. Xiao Shan was sleeping soundly next to him, as if she hadn't woken up at all.

Lu Yuan finally breathed a sigh of relief. He was really worried that if Xiao Shan heard him talking in his sleep, he would be so embarrassed.

He rubbed his face briefly and tried to fall back asleep, but he couldn't.

So he quietly crawled out of his sleeping bag and went outside.

The moon had risen sometime earlier.

The enormous moon casts even more moonlight upon the entire earth and sea.

The surroundings were brightly lit.

Lu Yuan stood in front of the tent and couldn't help but take out a cigarette and light it. Here, no one would bother him, so he could think more about his future plans.

Lu Yuan leaned against a rock, smoking and pondering.

Suddenly he felt something on the other side of the mountain move, and Lu Yuan was slightly taken aback.

He then picked up his binoculars and looked into the distance, only to find that there seemed to be nothing there. He even wondered if he was hallucinating because he was too nervous.

So he shook his head and continued to observe. Just then, there were a few more flashes in the distance, but this time the flashes lasted a little longer, as if a few heads had moved over there.

Lu Yuan was now unsettled. He clearly felt that he had seen clearly without any sign of distraction. He then switched the binoculars to night vision mode.

It was only then that they suddenly noticed several suspicious-looking people on the distant hilltop. They were all hunched over, as if they were carrying something on their backs as they walked forward.

Lu Yuan frowned immediately. He looked around and found that everyone was still sleeping and no one had come over.

So Lu Yuan made a decision: to hurry over and see who was there.
