Chapter 188 It Cracked

In the temporary camp on the back mountain, Lu Yuan specially set up dozens of tents to serve as a medical treatment area, where Deng Yuanyuan and a group of doctors and nurses were extremely busy.

Lu's mother, Xiao Shan's mother, and Xiao Shan all got up and temporarily acted as nurses. Many women in the camp also joined the nursing team. Although they had no medical skills, they could still help carry the wounded and wash their bandages.

Fortunately, most of the injured in the camp were knocked down by rubble, or were injured by trampling in the chaos.

To address the shortage of medicine, Lu Yuan took out some golden fruits from his dimensional space, put them in a bag, mashed them into a pulp, and headed directly towards the medical treatment center.

Deng Yuanyuan was arranging for people to bring the wounded over for basic treatment. After arriving at the treatment area, Lu Yuan heard a series of wails coming from the tent.

Lu Yuan was momentarily stunned. When he lifted the first tent flap, he saw about a dozen people lying on the ground, each with some blood on their bodies. One of the doctors, holding scissors, didn't even bother to wash the wounds before cutting open their clothes, rinsing them with water, and performing some basic wound care.

One of the boys, who looked to be in his teens, was grimacing and clutching his knee, crying incessantly.

After finishing with the previous patient, the doctor turned and walked to his side. After examining the boy's wound, he frowned deeply.

"Uncle, my leg hurts so much, I don't want to have it cut off!" The boy clutched his knee, tears welling in his eyes as he pleaded.

The doctor's white coat is now stained with traces of blood, making it look quite menacing.

Upon hearing the boy's words, the doctor's face showed a hint of helplessness, but it quickly turned into a smile as he said to the boy, "Don't worry, I will try my best to save your leg! By the way, what grade are you in?"

The boy hugged his knees, gasping for breath, and squeezed out a few words through gritted teeth: "He should be in the second year of junior high!"

The doctor nodded in satisfaction and gestured for the boy to remove his hand, but the boy was too afraid to take his hand off his knee.

"Relax, it's okay. I'm just doing an examination. Don't worry, I'll do my best to save your leg!" The doctor tried his best to keep his tone as calm as possible to prevent the patient from being too nervous and affecting his work.

The boy glanced at the doctor unintentionally and saw the doctor smile at him. Only then did the boy hesitantly remove his hand.

Then, with a sound, she took out a pair of bloodstained scissors from her pocket and gently cut open the boy's trouser leg.

The moment the trouser leg was cut open, fresh blood gushed out and flowed onto the ground. Upon seeing this, the boy gritted his teeth and braced himself with his hands.

The doctor stepped forward and gently rinsed the boy's wound with clean water. The boy immediately let out a shrill scream. The two female nurses behind him held the boy's shoulders tightly to prevent him from moving around and causing further injury to the wound.

The moment the blood from the wound was washed away by the water, the doctor saw several pieces of bone protruding from the flesh.

The boy was screaming in pain, seemingly on the verge of fainting. Lu Yuan gently stepped forward, glanced at him, and asked, "How are you?"

The doctor, not caring that it was Lu Yuan, immediately shook his head with a wry smile.

"His kneecap is comminuted; even if it heals, it's likely he'll be crippled!"

Upon hearing these words, Lu Yuan felt a pang of unease. He couldn't help but glance at the wound again, only to find that the wound, which had just been cleaned, was now covered in blood.

An assistant quickly used a bandage to tie the boy's thigh to prevent him from bleeding to death.

After thinking for a while, Lu Yuan wondered if the golden fruit could restore these bones, so he gently took a piece out of his pocket and walked to the boy's side.

The boy was in so much pain that his face was covered in cold sweat, and tears blurred his vision.

However, he was still gritting his teeth and begging not to have his leg amputated.

Lu Yuan sighed, then gently patted his cheek: "Come on, eat this!"

The boy strained to open a sliver of his eye, and upon seeing Lu Yuan, desperately pleaded, "Uncle Lu, please save me! I still want to play soccer!"

Lu Yuan tried his best to make his smile look normal, but he couldn't smile at all. He could only force a smile and comfort him, "Don't worry, you're a man. I hope you can hold on. By the way, you've held on this long, so it might hurt a little later, but I promise you your leg will be healed. Can you bear the pain?"

Upon hearing that his leg could be saved, the boy immediately nodded vigorously.

"I can do it! I definitely can!"

The doctor standing nearby frowned upon hearing Lu Yuan's words and whispered in Lu Yuan's ear, "Mr. Lu, his kneecap has a comminuted fracture; there's simply no way to heal it!"

Lu Yuan pointed to her knee and said, "He is our future, we must save him. I just gave him the medicine, now quickly piece his bones back together and stuff them back into his flesh!"

The doctor was horrified after hearing this. He quickly asked, "Mr. Lu, this won't do! We don't have that much anesthetic. He'll be in excruciating pain!"
