“Your main personnel are responsible for the security work in the vicinity. I’ll ask Shen Hu to handle this matter! He still has quite a few troops under his command. We can get them out together and try to resolve the situation here. Right now, the dimensional space doesn’t need too many military forces!”

Hearing this, Zhou Tong shook his head helplessly: "Alright, then leave it to Shen Hu. You don't need to worry about the security here, we can handle it!"

After the three discussed it further, Lu Yuan decided to go with them to see the cave.

Seemingly to show that their purpose was not personal, the exploration team leader whispered something to Lu Yuan from behind.

"Mr. Lu, my main concern is that if more people know about this situation, it might cause panic!"

Hearing what the other person said, Lu Yuan turned to look at them and said, "Haha, it's okay. Our people have seen everything, so there's nothing to be afraid of!"

"Oh, it seems I was overthinking it!"

"Yes! But you're right to do that. After all, it's best not to say things you haven't investigated before, in case it causes unnecessary trouble!"

Just then, the exploration team leader pointed to the woods in the distance and said, "Mr. Lu, we've arrived!"

Lu Yuan nodded and shone the flashlight forward.

There, towering ancient trees stood tall and lush, their leaves mostly sparse, yet they still thrived.

After following the exploration team leader through the forest for a few minutes, the leader pointed to a lush thicket of bushes in the distance.

"Mr. Lu is right there! That's the place where I discovered the monster's cave!"

Lu Yuan nodded, and then he and Zhou Tong arrived at the cave entrance.

Reaching out and parting the bushes, I saw several thick tree trunks underneath, along with a dense network of intertwined vines, and some thick rocks providing cover below.

"No wonder we didn't notice it. This place was so well hidden. Could it be a refuge built by the locals?"

The exploration team leader shook his head: "I also thought it was a man-made shelter, but after measurement and analysis, we found that there are very few traces of human intervention here, and it is almost all naturally formed caves."

Caves like this exist in nature, but this one is so vast. It's covered by a thin layer of rock, but its size is simply too large, so I'm starting to suspect it might be a monster's lair!

After searching the vicinity, the two discovered a pit.

So Lu Yuan took out a flashlight and turned to look at the exploration team leader and Zhou Tong.

"Be careful, run if things go wrong!"

Zhou Tong nodded solemnly, gripping his gun tightly, ready to respond to any threats that might arise.

Lu Yuan took a deep breath, then pushed aside the bushes in front of him and shone his flashlight downwards.

The moment the flashlight beam shone down into the pitch-black cave, a piercing scream immediately erupted from within.

It seemed as if something had been disturbed.

Then, Lu Yuan shone the flashlight back and forth and immediately felt a foul, fishy smell coming from the cave entrance.

Suddenly, the flashlight beam caught sight of a bat-like monster with huge fleshy wings lunging at him.

Through the beam of the flashlight, Lu Yuan could clearly see what the monster looked like.

It is a monster that looks like a bat, with a wingspan of nearly three meters. Its mouth is full of gleaming fangs and it has four sharp claws.

Moreover, when the monster opened its mouth, a piercing sound came out, which felt like scratching glass with a fingernail.

Then, the monster flew straight toward Lu Yuan, flapping its wings with a piercing sound.

Lu Yuan pulled out a pistol and fired two shots in the direction of the monster.

Two gunshots rang out, carrying far through the cave.

The bat monster let out a scream and then plummeted straight down into the cave.

Then an even bigger commotion came from inside, and only then did Lu Yuan see clearly that the rock walls inside the cave were covered with a dense array of huge bat monsters.

The bat monsters' eyes glowed red before they lunged at him.

Seeing this, Lu Yuan didn't hesitate and immediately turned around and shouted at Zhou Tong and the exploration team leader, "Run! There are bat monsters inside, they're coming out!"

The two, who were already prepared, immediately sprinted towards the camp. On the way, Zhou Tong picked up his walkie-talkie and shouted into it: "All team members, immediately go on standby! Monsters are attacking!"

The three of them then quickly ran back to the camp.

A commotion arose from the woods behind them.

Before long, a dark mass of bat-like monsters emerged from the cave.

There were so many of these bat monsters that they blotted out the sky; there must have been at least tens of thousands of them.

Lu Yuan was already starting to regret it; he shouldn't have fired the gun out of nervousness.

But now that it's already done, let's have someone kill these bat monsters to prevent them from attacking us in the future.

The camp was ready for battle. When they saw Lu Yuan and Zhou Tong running over with the exploration team leader, the bright searchlights immediately shone into the sky.

In the distance, countless bat-like monsters appeared in the sky, their mouths agape, emitting piercing sounds that sent chills down everyone's spines.
