"Sizzle sizzle~"

Purple electricity spread across Yue Jiuzai's body, but it did not cause him any harm. Instead, it restored a significant amount of his spiritual power.

Yue Jiuzai sneered as he looked at the heartless villagers on the ground: "Heh~ If it weren't for all the wicked things you people do, I wouldn't have been able to summon heavenly lightning, you know? This is your retribution."

Although the villagers screamed in agony after being struck by lightning, only a few died, including the old woman from earlier. Yue Jiuzai knew that this was a sign of Heaven's mercy, which was why they weren't killed all at once.

The people in this village are all bad. Yue Jiuzai saw sin in them, so he simply used them to attract heavenly lightning. The heavenly lightning could punish them and also help Yue Jiuzai break through the physical barriers, making it easier to recover some spiritual power. Yue Jiuzai's plan was a win-win situation.

Quite a few villagers came to chase after Yue Jiuzai; almost the entire village had come. They were probably afraid that if Yue Jiuzai really escaped, it would cause them trouble, so they all came to pursue him. However, they didn't expect that Yue Jiuzai was no ordinary person; he could even summon heavenly lightning, which terrified them all!

When Yue Jiuzai saw that everyone was looking at her with fear, she said, "Oh, what's with those looks? Weren't you all so smug just now? Why are you scared now? Come on, hit me again!"

As Yue Jiuzai was speaking, he stretched out his right hand and waved it, then pulled Aunt Mei, who had sold him here, out of the crowd and in front of him.

"Tsk~ You're scared too? So you're afraid of death after all?"

Yue Jiuzai said with a cruel smile, "I thought you were never afraid of death. You know what? The moment I saw you, I knew what you had done. So, you're not going to live today!"

Aunt Mei, who had been thrown to the ground by Yue Jiuzai, showed an expression of extreme fear. She knelt down and kowtowed to Yue Jiuzai, trembling as she said, "I was wrong, please let me go, I, I will never dare to do it again~"

Yue Jiuzai just grinned slightly after hearing her words, then snapped his fingers with his left hand, and three children who looked a few years old immediately appeared next to Aunt Mei!

Those three children were no longer human; there were two boys and one girl, all around five or six years old.

The girl had a deep ligature mark on her neck, clearly indicating she had been strangled. The other boy was soaking wet, as if he had just crawled out of the water; he had actually drowned—a little water ghost. The last boy's clothes were tattered, his hands and feet were covered in scars, and he had a deep, bloody hole in his forehead, showing he had been beaten to death!

"Ah! You, how could you?!"

Aunt Mei was terrified when she saw the three little devils. She tried to run away as fast as she could, but the three little devils grabbed her and viciously pulled her hair, choked her neck, and bit her flesh, as if they wanted to repay her for everything they had suffered.

Why did you hit me! Why!?

"You dare hit me? You dare hit me? I'll beat you to death!"

"I'll beat you to death, I'll beat you to death!"

Aunt Mei was held captive by the three men and beaten mercilessly, her body covered in bloody bite marks. She wept bitterly, kowtowing and apologizing, "Ahhh! Let me go! Let me go! Who told you not to listen to me? I hit you because you didn't listen! Ahhh! I was wrong, I was wrong, please let me go!~"

The villagers were terrified when they saw this, fearing that the man-eating demons would come and bite them. So they dragged their bodies, which had been struck by lightning, and tried to run away. But how could Yue Jiuzai possibly let them go?

Although some of these people hadn't killed anyone like that old woman, they were no better than anyone else, so Yue Jiuzai decided to act on behalf of Heaven!

She drove all those people back to their village, then had the few brats who had nearly killed Aunt Mei guard them, while she went to rescue those who were imprisoned.

Most houses in rural areas have basements or cellars for storage. People who are bought are usually kept in the cellars for fear of them escaping.

Yue Jiuzai began searching house to house from one end of the village to the other, and surprisingly, she actually found quite a few people.

Seeing the women locked in cellars, woodsheds, or even their bedrooms without clothes, Yue Jiuzai felt he had been too lenient earlier and should have let the heavenly lightning strike him a few more times to help him further enhance his spiritual power.

"Come on, I'm here to save you. If you want revenge, you can have it too. I've arrested everyone in the village."

Yue Jiuzai told the rescued people that at first they were scared by the beating and didn't dare to believe Yue Jiuzai's words or run away. However, after seeing Yue Jiuzai carrying the village chief in, they believed him.

Those people had been tormented by these beastly villagers for too long, so as soon as they saw an opportunity for revenge, they all went to beat up those villagers!

Yue Jiuzai watched the villagers being beaten without intervening. She thought it best not to intervene, as killing was wrong, and she still hoped to become an immortal in the future.

Seeing that the people had almost finished beating the woman, Yue Jiuzai felt it was time to leave. She said to the three little devils, "Go, you can go reincarnate now. She's beyond saving, and you've avenged your great enemy. Go now~"
