"Ahem, are you sure it's really okay to keep going like this?"

Carrying her luggage and munching on an ear of corn, Yue Jiu asked her friend Yue Jiu Nian, "I think it would be fine if we just found a nice place to eat and then followed them, right?"

"No, I think they're in a hurry. What if they leave us and then just walk away?"

Yue Jiu Nian disagreed, saying, "Just bear with it a little longer. They might be waiting for someone, and maybe they'll go find a restaurant to eat at later."

After getting off the train, those few 'ground rats' stayed near the station without moving around, seemingly waiting for someone, and Jiang Yan obediently followed them.

However, Yue Jiu Nian and the others couldn't stay in the same place like them. They could chat with Jiang Yan on the train, but now that they had gotten off, they would be discovered if they didn't leave. So the two of them had no choice but to pretend to leave and then come back to keep watch on the group.

However, since they were to follow secretly, they naturally couldn't expose themselves. So, in order not to be discovered, Yue Jiu Nian and Yue Jiu Zai had no choice but to make do and squat by the corner of the wall with their luggage, waiting. They couldn't even leave to find something to eat, which made them feel extremely wronged.

After waiting another ten minutes, Yue Jiuzai saw that the 'ground rats' were still standing in the same spot and was about to lose his temper. "Damn it! Who are they waiting for? The reason they didn't dare use magic to track them before was because Yue Jiu Nian found a protective talisman on their leader. The talisman was quite useful, so Yue Jiu Nian didn't dare to make a move, fearing that she would be discovered.

Yue Jiu thought for a moment and said, "Forget it, it's better not to reveal it. How about this, you wait here, and I'll go buy you some food?"

In the end, Yue Jiuzhai still took her wallet to buy food, but when she came back with the packed food, she found that Yue Jiunian was gone!

"Damn, how could I be so unlucky? I was only there for about ten minutes, and they were already gone?"

"It's spicy beef, braised chicken with mushrooms, and sweet and sour fish. I got it to go from a fast food restaurant, and the portions aren't very big."

As Yue Jiuzai read out the menu, he opened a takeout box and looked around, saying, "By the way, where is everyone? How dare you eat here?"

Upon hearing this, Yue Jiu Nian pointed with her chopsticks to a large dining table across the table and said, "Over there, I didn't wait long before two people came to pick them up and followed them all the way here. But don't worry, I just used a shapeshifting spell, so they don't recognize me anymore."

When Yue Jiu Nian entered, she was worried that she would be recognized, so she used magic to change her appearance. Now, only some people with special abilities can see through her true appearance; ordinary people cannot.

“Oh, no wonder you dare to eat here,” Yue Jiuzai also picked up his chopsticks to eat. “Then I’ll change my appearance too, so that I won’t be recognized while you are.”

As she spoke, she gently wiped her face with her hand, and her entire face changed into a different appearance. However, in Yue Jiu Nian's eyes, it still looked the same as before.

"How is it? Does it look good?"

After Yue Jiuzai finished altering her appearance, she turned to ask Yue Jiunian, but Yue Jiunian didn't have time to pay attention to her. She ate without looking up and said, "Whether it looks good or not, it's still the same. In my eyes, there's no change."

The two women were eating, while the others were drinking and chatting. The men who had kidnapped Jiang Yan and the two people who came to pick them up were talking, while Jiang Yan silently kept her head down and ate her rice.

A man in a dark gray short-sleeved shirt spoke to the kidnapper leader.

The kidnapper leader chuckled, picked up a bottle of liquor, and poured a drink for the other man: "Hey~ it's the same old story, running a small stall and doing some small business. If you hadn't contacted us recently, we'd still be setting up our stall today~"

After saying this, he glanced at Jiang Yan, who was eating with his head down and not saying a word, and then lowered his voice and said, "By the way, brother, I've caught the guy too. Do you think this kid is really useful?"

"Yes, you'll find out when the time comes."

After the man in dark gray finished speaking, he picked up his glass and drank: "Alright, let's eat and drink our fill tonight, because we'll be going to work tomorrow!"
