Since ancient times, people have sought immortality. Even Qin Shi Huang, who unified the seven kingdoms, had some cultivators refine elixirs for him, but he did not succeed in the end.

Therefore, when Yue Jiu Nian and Yue Jiu Zai learned that Uncle Zhao and the others had come here to find the legendary elixir of longevity, they were not surprised at all.

After listening to Uncle Zhao's words, Yue Jiu Nian said, "Alright, what you want is different from what we want. We only want money, so there's no conflict. However, I still think there's probably no such thing as a longevity elixir in this world. If there really is, then whose skeleton is it?"

There were four or five boxes inside the tomb. The boxes were of different sizes and none of them were locked, so it was easy to open them. They could be opened with just a gentle pry.

Yue Jiu Nian walked to a box that looked like an ordinary storage box and was about to open it when Jiang Yan behind her suddenly shouted, "Hey~ look, what's on top of this?"

Upon hearing Jiang Yan's voice, everyone reflexively looked up at their heads, only to find that a cauldron was hanging above them!

The cauldron on top wasn't very big; it looked like the alchemy furnaces used by Taoist priests in TV dramas. However, it was quite dark in color, perhaps because the tomb was too dark. The cauldron looked black, and if you didn't look closely, you really couldn't tell what was on it.

When Uncle Zhao and Lao Hei saw the cauldron, they immediately became excited, because they all thought there would be elixirs or something related to longevity inside, since cauldrons are always used to refine things or pills.

So as soon as Lao Hei and Lao Wu discovered the cauldron, they wanted to take it down, but it was hanging too high for them to reach. Lao Wu said, "Heavens, how did this alchemy cauldron end up hanging up there? How are we going to get it down?"

Uncle Zhao also said, "That's right, the owner of this tomb is too strange. Why was it hung up there, so high up?"

Because the cauldron was hanging there on two iron chains, they couldn't take it down immediately, so they started to complain about the tomb owner.

When Yue Jiu Nian saw the cauldron, she became a little curious. She wondered if there really was an elixir of immortality here. Although she wasn't interested in immortality, since her lifespan was already quite long, she was still a little curious.

Yue Jiuzai wasn't interested in the cauldron on top. Seeing everyone else looking at it, she urged Yue Jiunian to open the box: "Hurry up and open it! If you won't, I will. What are you looking at? Do you really think there are elixirs of immortality here?"

As Yue Jiuzai spoke, he reached out to open the box, ignoring what Uncle Zhao and the others were doing.

Yue Jiu Nian snapped out of her daze after hearing what she said: "Alright, I'm not looking anymore. Come on, let's open the box first."

As she spoke, she reached out with both hands to open the box. The box looked very ordinary, but when she touched it, she felt a chilling aura!

"Holy crap, why is there this eerie atmosphere? Could it be a ghost trapped inside?"

Yue Jiu muttered to herself, but she still placed her hand on the lid of the box and then opened it with a swift motion!

"Heh~ It really is~"

As soon as the box was opened, a female ghost dressed in white ancient costume flew out. However, this female ghost looked very normal and not scary at all. On the contrary, she was quite pretty!

She came out excitedly and said, "Wow! I'm finally out! Oh my god, I thought I'd never get out in my life, but I never thought I'd have a chance to come out today!"

When Yue Jiu Nian saw the female ghost appear, she asked in surprise, "What's going on? How come you're here, ghost? Where's my treasure? Is there any treasure in the box?"

Yue Jiuzai only glanced at the female ghost before sticking his head into the box. Unfortunately, the box was empty, except for the female ghost.

Upon discovering the box was empty, Yue Jiuzai became unhappy. She looked at the female ghost with displeasure and said, "Hey, why is it empty? Was the tomb owner really too poor to use a ghost as a burial object? Also, why did you, a ghost, crawl into the box? Could this box have been specially made for you?"

The female ghost seemed very happy after she came out, and she flew around everywhere, which frightened Jiang Yan, who hadn't gone to see the cauldron with Lao Hei.

Jiang Yan had been following Yue Jiu Nian's side the whole time, so when he saw the female ghost come out, he was so frightened that he dared not make a sound and kept suppressing his fear.

In fact, Jiang Yan was much stronger than before. After all, he had experienced more and his willpower had become much stronger. At least he was not scared into fainting. However, he still stood behind Yue Jiu Nian, seeking protection.

Yue Jiu Nian knew that Jiang Yan was afraid of ghosts. Although the female ghost didn't look ugly, she still comforted Jiang Yan and said, "Don't be afraid~ This ghost isn't fierce."

After comforting Jiang Yan, she said to the female ghost, "Hey, I'm asking you a question. Why are you in the box?"

After flying around for a while, the female ghost calmed down and said happily, "Actually, you guessed right. I was indeed locked up in the box as a burial offering. But I'm not the only one here; there are probably many more."
