Chapter 255 'Story'

"What do you know? Tell us quickly!"

Upon hearing the homeless man say that he probably knew about the park, Yue Jiuling immediately showed great interest and asked, "Come on, brother, tell us outsiders why."

Seeing that Yue Jiuling and Ya Zi were so curious about the park, the homeless man chuckled and said, "Hehe~ Actually, it's nothing much. As you can see, there are quite a few graves in this park. It's said that this place was originally a cemetery, and I don't know why it was developed into a park later. During the day, there are still some people coming to this park, but there are hardly any people at night, especially the locals from the neighborhood. They don't come here in the afternoon."

"Oh, is that the reason? Oh dear, it's just a few graves, is there any need to be so afraid?"

Yue Jiuling felt a bit tired of standing, so she sat down on the homeless man's chair. She said with a smile, "What era are we living in? What are you afraid of ghosts for?"

When Ya Zi saw that Yue Jiuling had sat down, he sat down next to her and said, "That's right, it's just a graveyard, these people are too cowardly."

In order to extract more information, the two old monsters both transformed into atheists.

But the homeless man, upon hearing their words, didn't agree with them as they expected, saying there were no ghosts or anything like that. Instead, he said mysteriously, "Oh dear, you really can't say that. Although I know many young people don't believe in these things, even if we don't believe, we should still respect them. Ghosts and spirits are very mysterious things."

After the homeless man finished speaking, seeing that Yue Jiuling and Ya Zi still had indifferent expressions, he continued, "But I still have to tell you something. Even though there's a graveyard here, some people are still as bold as you to come in, just like me. But recently I heard that someone encountered a ghost in the graveyard a few days ago!"

"You encountered a ghost? Really?"

Upon hearing this information, Yue Jiuling immediately became interested.

Ya Zi asked with great interest, "Is it true? Tell me quickly, what's going on? This ghost really exists?"

Seeing that the two men seemed interested in the ghost's 'story,' the homeless man said, "I heard it from someone else, but it seems pretty true. It's about a man who hadn't left the park when the sun was almost setting. He was wandering around the cemetery when he saw a figure behind the grave. The figure was very strange; it was like it was floating. Its movements and postures were different from normal people."

"And then what?"

“That guy behind me must have seen a ghost,” the homeless man said under Yue Jiuling’s urging. “At first, he thought there was someone behind him. He’s a brave guy, so he called out to the figure and asked why it was behind the grave. But the figure wasn’t human, so of course it wouldn’t respond. When he saw that the figure didn’t respond, he stepped on the grave mound and went to call for it himself. When he got there, he saw that the figure actually only had half a body. Its lower body was missing, and the whole person was floating in the air!”

"Holy crap! Really? It's a ghost?"

When Ya Zi heard this part of the story, he also showed a skeptical expression and said, "This isn't something that guy made up, is it?"

Yue Jiuling also said, "I also feel like it's a bit fake."

"No, please let me finish."

The homeless man interrupted the two men and continued, "Listen to me first. When that guy saw that thing with only half a body, he was scared half to death and shouted that there was a ghost. Luckily, there were other people nearby who hadn't left yet. As soon as they heard his shout, they ran over to check and found that the guy had fainted on the ground. The people who came to rescue him also saw a blurry figure."

The story ends here. After finishing, the homeless man looked at Yue Jiuling and Ya Zi and said, "Actually, when I first heard about this, I didn't really believe it. I always felt it was just a scary story that guy made up. Otherwise, I wouldn't dare to sleep here anymore. But since I've been sleeping here for the past few days, I've become somewhat convinced."

After hearing the story, Ya Zi still looked unconvinced and said, "Why? Didn't you say you weren't afraid and didn't believe it?"

Yue Jiuling raised an eyebrow and said, "Exactly, if you're scared too, why are you sleeping here?"

Seeing that neither of them believed him, the homeless man lowered his voice and whispered to them, "Let me put it this way, actually I've seen and heard some things these past few nights, but I'm brave and have a strong constitution, so I wasn't afraid and have been sleeping here all this time."

"You have a strong destiny?"

Listening to the homeless man's words, Ya Zi looked up and carefully examined his appearance. Before, she hadn't thought much of him, but now she realized this man was quite resilient. And although he was currently homeless, it was only for a short time; after a while, he would be able to turn his life around, and his worth would increase a hundredfold!

"Tsk, what are you doing? You don't believe me? Let me tell you, I was told by a fortune teller when I was little that I have a tough life and no demons or monsters can get close to me. Hey~ what kind of eyes do you have?"

Sitting next to him, Yue Jiuling and Ya Zi laughed when they heard the homeless man say, "No demons or monsters can get close."
