As a fake half-demon, Yue Jiuling feels that living in the human realm is actually pretty good. However, this is only true if she can retrieve her original body and separated soul. There's no c...
In the dead of night, Yue Jiuling and Ya Zi flew over a deathly silent village.
"Huh? Why are there so many courtyards in this village? Which courtyard were we in last night?"
As Yue Jiuling flew, she asked Ya Zi beside her.
Ya Zi looked down at the village below, squinted, and said, "I don't remember. We went in with the brigade back then. Why don't we skip that courtyard and go straight to the family holding the wedding?"
"Alright, let's get off here then."
As they talked, the two landed on the ground.
To be honest, if it weren't so late at night, neither of them would have dared to fly around recklessly, for fear of being seen by ordinary people, which would have caused trouble.
The two landed in the center of the village. The village was quiet, with all the doors and windows closed. It was very quiet, but also very eerie.
"Shh~ It's so quiet. It seems everyone is very sensitive about this."
Yue Jiuling whispered to Ya Zi, "There are quite a few people in this village. Why don't we split up and search in different directions? Each of us can go in one direction, and we'll send a message once we find the house."
"Okay, then let's split up and search."
Because they were in the middle of the village, and the family holding the "happy occasion" hadn't put anything conspicuous at their door, they had to separate.
Yue Jiuling headed towards the end of the village, while Ya Zi headed towards the beginning of the village.
After searching house by house, and passing by more than a dozen households, Yue Jiuling finally stopped at a door with a white '囍' character pasted on the door.
"Tsk, no wonder I couldn't find it up there; there was just a tiny little sign on it."
This family looked very small; their house was only one story high. Apart from a white "囍" character pasted on their door, there was nothing else there. No wonder they couldn't find it when they were in the sky.
After finding it, Yue Jiuling took out her phone and sent a message to Ya Zi, then pushed open the door and went inside.
That's right, they just pushed the door open and went in, because the door was ajar and not closed properly.
Upon entering the house, Yue Jiuling first saw two coffins, each with two large white "囍" characters pasted on it, along with several large white flowers.
The house wasn't big, just a one-bedroom apartment, but the coffin was placed in the living room, not in the bedroom. After Yue Jiuling looked around the house, Ya Zi arrived.
As soon as Ya Zi entered and saw the scene inside, he laughed. He said, "Hey, so the bride married a poor bastard after all. No wonder they had to change grooms!"
"Haha~ That's possible. After all, Li Yi is an actor, so he's definitely not poor."
Yue Jiuling was also happy.
She walked up to the two coffins and looked at them. When she found that both coffins were nailed shut, she said in surprise, "Huh? That's not right, why are they both nailed shut?"
"They're all nailed to the ground? No, there's only one dead body here."
Ya Zi also came over to take a look.
"I can understand lying in a coffin together on your wedding night, but what does it mean that both coffins are nailed shut?"
Yue Jiuling frowned and approached one of the coffins, reaching out to touch the lid: "Actually, it's not bad that we're not sleeping in the same coffin, but why are we nailed together? Isn't this a marriage of life and death, but a marriage of death to death?"
Traditional ghost marriages are divided into two types: one is a marriage between a living person and a dead person, which is called a marriage of life and death; the other is a marriage between two dead people, which is called a marriage of death and death.
Before coming to the village, Yue Jiuling and Ya Zi both believed that the village held a marriage of life and death, because when they entered the village at night, they did not feel any death aura, which meant that there were no dead people in the village.
As for holding ghost marriages, they all believed that the living might voluntarily marry the dead, but they never expected to see two coffins nailed shut.
"Shall we open the coffin? There's still some breath inside, just a bit weak."
Ya Zi pointed at the coffin under Yue Jiuling's hand with his finger, and Yue Jiuling immediately nodded and said, "Open it, I want to know what's going on."
After discovering that the person inside the coffin was still alive, the two men began to pry open the coffin lid. However, to their surprise, when they were halfway through, they heard someone speaking from inside the coffin.
It was a very weak male voice: "Who is it?"
Upon hearing a sound, Ya Zi immediately ripped open the coffin lid and said to Yue Jiuling, "It seems the person is still conscious."
Sure enough, the person inside the coffin, upon discovering that the coffin lid had been opened, struggled to sit up.
He was a very thin man, probably only in his twenties or thirties. He looked very weak and his face was pale, giving him a sickly appearance.
When Yue Jiuling saw the man get up, she said, "Oh, he really is alive. But brother, how did you get yourself sealed up?"
"Cough cough~ Who exactly are you people? Why are you opening my coffin?"
The man didn't answer Yue Jiuling's question; instead, he asked her a question.
Upon hearing the question, Yue Jiuling said, "Oh, it's like this. We're here to catch a ghost because a female ghost ran away and tried to snatch a living person to be her groom, so we've been chasing after her all this way."
"Ghost hunters? Stealing the groom? Who are you trying to fool?! Were you sent by my aunt? Let me tell you, I'm not giving up on marrying Xiaoxin, and I'm not planning to go for treatment. Just let my aunt give up! Cough cough~"
