"Alright, let's go pick it up then."

After hearing that Yue Jiuling had agreed to pick up Mu Xiaoyi's little cousin, Ya Zi had no choice but to nod. He said, "Is it enough to just take her home?"

"Yes, because my aunt and uncle are busy with work and don't have time to pick her up, they sent her to boarding school. She can only come home once a week. I usually pick her up, but I have plans with someone today~ hehe~"

Mu Xiaoyi immediately said.

"Oh, your little cousin is quite pitiful. How old is she?"

Upon hearing this, Yue Jiuling asked, "It's Friday today, it's a holiday. By the way, she doesn't know us, what if she doesn't want to come with us?"

The photo on the phone is of a teenage girl with a ponytail and a sweet smile; she looks like a very well-behaved girl.

Seeing that someone was helping her pick up her little cousin, Mu Xiaoyi hurriedly grabbed her bag and went downstairs, saying as she went, "Then I'll leave this to you, thank you so much!"

Seeing Mu Xiaoyi run so fast, Bai Xinyu shook her head helplessly and said, "Oh dear, love really can change a person beyond recognition. She doesn't even care about her own little cousin anymore."

After she finished speaking, she left the office and went downstairs to find a place to hide.

And so, Yue Jiuling and Ya Zi became the 'temporary parents' and went to pick up the child.

Mu Xiaoyi's younger cousin's school is in the same city. It only takes half an hour to get there by taxi from the management office. By the time they arrived at the school, it was already around 6:30 pm.

Looking at the few remaining junior high students in the school, Yue Jiuling took out her phone and made a call. It was the number Mu Xiaoyi had given her; it belonged to her little cousin.

After making the call, Yue Jiuling and Ya Zi waited at the school gate for about ten minutes before a girl with a ponytail came out.

As the girl came out with her backpack, she looked at the people who came to pick her up with a mixture of curiosity and caution. She asked, "Are you Xiaoyi's colleagues? Can I video chat with Xiaoyi first?"

Hearing the girl's wary words, Yue Jiuling immediately laughed, because she felt that her little cousin was quite clever.

"Of course you can. Your sister Xiaoyi already mentioned that she wanted a video call when she asked us to pick her up."

While making a video call to Mu Xiaoyi, Yue Jiuling looked at Ya Zi and said with a smile, "This child is quite smart. If all children were like her, it would be much harder for human traffickers to trick them away."

Just as Yue Jiuling was speaking, Mu Xiaoyi answered the phone. She poked her head out and called out, "Hello~ Is this Jiuling? Have you picked them up?"

"Yes, I've received it. Why don't you guys video chat?"

Yue Jiuling pointed her phone camera at her little cousin and said, "Come on, why don't you two chat for a bit?"

Upon seeing her older cousin, the little cousin immediately smiled and said, "Hi, Sister Xiaoyi~"

"Well, Xiao Jin, I'm too busy to pick you up today, so I've asked my colleagues to do it. Just go with them, they'll take you home."

"Okay, I understand."

My little cousin, Huang Xiaojin, nodded obediently, then helped Yue Jiuling hang up the phone. Turning to Yue Jiuling and Ya Zi, she asked, "Big brother and sister, where are we going to eat later?"

Seeing that she was clearly relaxed, Ya Zi smiled and said, "Let's go to one of our usual restaurants. The food there is delicious, and you'll definitely like it."

The couple picked up their child and then took a taxi to Xiaobaicai's restaurant for dinner.

When they arrived at Xiaobaicai's restaurant, Xiaobaicai was indeed still waiting for them inside. Before they arrived, Yue Jiuling had sent Xiaobaicai a message saying that she wanted to come and eat at his restaurant.

Ya Zi helped Huang Xiao Jin take her schoolbag to her seat first, and then Yue Jiu Ling took the child to the restroom to wash her hands. When they came out after washing their hands, the food was already on the table.

Little Cabbage ran over and said, "Oh dear, I rushed off work today and didn't even know you guys went to pick up Sister Xiaoyi. Speaking of which, Dongfeng said he was going home for dinner today, and I thought he would come here to eat too~"

"Yes, Dongfeng goes home every week for a family gathering."
