As a fake half-demon, Yue Jiuling feels that living in the human realm is actually pretty good. However, this is only true if she can retrieve her original body and separated soul. There's no c...
"Meow~ Meow~ Meow meow meow~~"
In the evening, on the living room sofa, a large, beautiful white cat with smooth fur was excitedly holding a tablet computer in its paws, watching TV. When it saw something exciting, it kept meowing. The cat was acting like it was going crazy.
Yue Jiuling was preparing dinner in the kitchen when she became so annoyed by the noise outside that she finally grabbed a kitchen knife and went out.
"Hey! That's enough! Aren't you tired after staring at me all day? Can't you give your eyes a rest? Can't you be a little more normal when you're always swooning over your cat? And I told you not to turn back into your real form! Look at this sofa, it's covered in your cat hair, it's so annoying!"
Bai Xinyu, her cat-like body arched, stared nervously at the kitchen knife in front of her, shielding herself with her paws and looking utterly timid: "Hey, hey, I'm sorry, big sister, could you put that knife down first? Let's talk this out, you're making me a little nervous..."
"Hmph! Okay, then change back to normal. Look at all this fluff in the house. You're the one mopping the floor and cleaning tonight!"
Yue Jiuling glared at Bai Xinyu, then put away the kitchen knife, pointed to the living room and said angrily, "You know you shed a lot, yet you still revert to your original form. Transforming is one thing, but you don't even clean. I can tolerate that, but your constant howling and screaming is really going too far!"
Seeing that the kitchen knife wasn't pointed at her, Bai Xinyu obediently transformed back into human form. She snuggled up to Yue Jiuling in a fawning manner, saying, "Hey, don't be like that, I was wrong. I'll clean up right away, I promise I'll make sure this place is spotless, don't be angry, hehe~"
"You said it yourself. I finally get a break, and you're driving me crazy. Hurry up and get ready, I'm going to cook."
Seeing how well Bai Xinyu admitted her mistake, Yue Jiuling rolled her eyes at her and went back to the kitchen with the cleaver, while Bai Xinyu obediently tidied up the living room.
In the hospital, a group of doctors and experts are having a serious and tense meeting. The subject of their discussion is the girl who came back from the dead.
A bald, elderly doctor said, "Dean, I think this is a miracle. That girl's ability to come back from the dead is absolutely a miracle for our medical community!"
Another chubby doctor said, "Actually, I think this girl was not dead at the time, but we mistakenly thought she was dead, which is why she came back to life."
"No, we were absolutely certain she was dead back then, there was no misdiagnosis!"
The third doctor countered.
The person in question, whom the group had been discussing for a long time, was undergoing various examinations. The girl looked helpless as she went through each test. After finishing the last one, she said impatiently to the nurse, "Um, nurse, when can I be discharged? Am I all better now?"
The nurse looked at the test report again and again, then looked up and said, "Ms. Jiang Nian, actually, according to your medical report, your health is very good, and you can be discharged, but..."
"Just what?" The girl, Jiang Nian, squinted at the nurse and asked in confusion.
The nurse said, "But your case is a bit special, so I still recommend that you stay in the hospital for observation for a few days."
Jiang Nian pouted and said, "No, sister, I'm very poor. I don't even have money to pay for the previous hospitalization and surgery fees. Are you sure you want me to stay in the hospital for observation?"
The nurse paused upon hearing this, then said, "Why don't you pay the money first?"
In an instant, Jiang Nian's impatience turned into a pained expression, and she was almost about to cry. She covered her face with her hands and said, "Oh, sister, I really don't have any money. Can you give me a few more days? Look, my mother's creditors have all come to the hospital today. Maybe I should go back to my hometown and borrow some money?"
The nurse was also in a dilemma when she saw Jiang Nian's condition. She remembered the group of people who came to collect debts that morning and knew they were Jiang Nian's mother's creditors. However, she didn't dare to let the patient go because she didn't have money to pay for the medical expenses. In the end, she had no choice but to take Jiang Nian to discuss the matter with her superiors.
"Jiuling, the steamed fish today is quite good, very delicious. But what's with this stir-fried pork? Did you kill the salt seller? It's so salty."
Bai Xinyu nitpicked at Yue Jiuling while eating.
"You have the nerve to say that? When I was cooking, that's when you were yelling outside. If I put too much salt in, that's your fault too. You affected my performance."
Yue Jiuling ate her favorite fish, and rolled her eyes at Xinyu, complaining that she had affected her performance today.
"Okay, my bad. I'll drink more water later."
The moment Bai Xinyu thought of the kitchen knife, she immediately stopped picking at the bones in the vegetables.
Because of the two cats' rule of dividing tasks, Yue Jiuling cooks, so Bai Xinyu naturally has to wash the dishes. After dinner, Bai Xinyu went to wash the dishes, while Yue Jiuling lay on the sofa playing on her phone without any regard for her image.
But as she was playing, she suddenly seemed to sense something, jumped up, grabbed her phone, and quickly went to change her clothes: "Xinyu, I have to go out for a bit, you can play by yourself at home."
Before Bai Xinyu could reply, she had already rushed out. When Bai Xinyu came out, all that was heard was the sound of the door slamming shut: "Bang!"
"What are you doing? Running so fast, going out for a night stroll at this hour?"
After Yue Jiuling ran downstairs, she followed her senses and ran to the left. When she reached the food street, she suddenly heard a loud noise.
"boom!"
It turned out that a shop had suddenly exploded, and the customers inside were fleeing for their lives. As the shop gradually caught fire, screams continued.
